Sorry for your loss, and thanks for your perseverance and the update. While I imagine you already have your testers lined up, I am keen to support your project. I am a qualified armourer with my own private range, located South of Townsville, and would be interested in helping with testing if needed. I like the idea of having options for the lever profile that are user swappable, based on task requirements.

@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
yes indeed. This particular issue came from having different versions of parts and then over time it shifted. When we reviewed all the alignments, we found that it wasn't aligned anymore after all the changes were made. Always got to go back and test and check again. I am sure we will find a couple more before production....it never ends :)

Great video! Super excited for the final reveal and some vids of it in action. Perhaps in a mock ipsc stage setup? For me i would love to see an adjustable stock, even a folding stock would be a nice touch for thoes long hunting treks. Also when pressing the mag release im hoping the mag will fall out for speed. Pullling the mag out costs time. I would also love a lever release that i can rest my thumb on for speed, just a straight up and down technique. Being able to mount a holographic at 45 degrees on a 45 degree pic rail built into the exisiting pic rail would be exceptional. Specially for ipsc rifle where you want a scope and a close range dot. Finally to top it all off, caliber conversion kit to 9mm would make this the creme de la creme of multipurpose rifles. Making it suitable for pistol ranges where caliber restrictions are in place. I love the effort and attention to detail you all have put into this. Well done. Also different colour ceracote options? I would love❤it in desert colours.
@AustralianSportingAgencies

We are hoping to take it to the IPSC nationals, but no promises have been made yet. Yes, it is totally available with collapsible and adjustable stocks, similar to the Chimera from CelikArms.au. I am unsure if the magazine falls out. There is a fine line between no movement of the magazine to increase pickup reliability and enough room for the magazine to fall out. I will test it when I have the final receiver. I am sure you can flick it out. We will offer a thumb rest lever, I believe. However, let me tell you from experience that the flip-down lever in the video is much quicker to use! Promise. You can just add a 45-degree offset adapter to your main Picatinny rail. Given the billet aluminum we use, there is no room to put an offset into the receiver without making the billet larger, which would make everything much more expensive. It is much cheaper to get an adapter. I will try to offer them as an add-on. The 9mm will be based on a blowback mechanism. My understanding at this point is that this is not compatible with the gas-operated receiver. But I will know more about that in the next month or so. Thank you. Yes, FDE will be available. Actually, the first few will be in FDE because black is scary.

Condilences mate, keep soldiering on. Will the gun work with standard metal ar15 mags or will it only work with pmags?
@rvrski1
@rvrski1 Месяц назад
Condolences Jim. My wish list. Lever release transferable to RHS for LH’rs LRBHO for easy fast mag changes and return to battery in confined spaces. The mag release transferable to the other side would be great but I don’t think it can be done with Pmags as the mags are proprietary set up with the indent on the left side only. You’ll have to mail the steak knives to me at the Tassie units, they won’t let me carry them through airport security……
@AustralianSportingAgencies

@@rvrski1 as of right now the mag will hold open the bolt. But you would need to pull the charging handle back to bring it back into battery before taking out the mag otherwise the action would close. I suggest counting your rounds if you are doing it in a competition scenario.
@rvrski1
@rvrski1 Месяц назад
@@AustralianSportingAgencies I think that’s a missed opportunity, for all facets of usage. A couple of comments, to my knowledge Pmags aren’t designed to have the bolt group stop on mag polymer follower under spring pressure. With the bolt group resting on the follower I’m surmising from my Taipan that the mag won’t drop without the pressure released through pulling back the charging handle or physically pulling the mag down sending the bolt into battery. Given most people will be using the legal 10 round mags when engaged with a mob fast and effortless mag changes would be a great benefit. As always, appreciate the reply. T

a thumb resting lever would be the best, that way theres no need to reach the thumb forward to chamber another round and it causes far less disruption to the shooting position. one of my biggest gripes with a lot of the earlier lever releases was that the levers were placed in the most inconvenient spots and it defeated the purpose of having a lever release in the first place. the Savage A22r had its lever as a small post in front of the trigger guard that needed to be pulled with the force of a thousand tigers just to chamber the next round.
@AustralianSportingAgencies
@AustralianSportingAgencies Месяц назад
I have one of those, worst gun I ever bought. Will probably just destroy it! I hear what you are saying, we will have different versions, but from experience the flip down lever is the best but it is hard to explain the benefits without actually showing footage. I will do a video specifically on it as it seems to be a big debate.

Just a respectful request from primary producers... can we see a medium weight barrel version that's 20 inches please? We don't do range or comp shooting and need a compromise in the velocity of the 223 cartridge to make it more humane and effective because it really isn't an ideal round for everyday PP use. If a 308 is ever available, a 20" version for the same reason. However I understand that we will be a small market, although mainly for the above reasons. In the future this will be a great selling point as firearm use potentially becomes more restricted for urban users.
@Hiraeth91537
@Hiraeth91537 Месяц назад
They said the fluting in the match barrel takes out so much material that the barrel isn't overly heavy. Personally I'm tossing up the idea of getting a custom barrel for it but I'd have to get my hands on the rifle to feel the overall weight and the balance (as well as the accuracy) to see if that's a path worth considering. FWIW I'm thinking about an 18" medium tapered fluted stainless barrel. Should make it nice and handy while retaining most of the ballistic performance of the 20".
@gw5436
@gw5436 Месяц назад
@@Hiraeth91537 we're not worried about the weight. We're interested in the velocity gains particularly when using the heavy 223 bullets, which make the cartridge more suitable for more occasions. Everything straight-pull so far has been 16" that we ever see locally (happy to be proved wrong), I can only assume people are looking for AR15 looking firearms. A few 100fps makes a huge difference to the killing power of the diminutive 223 in variable primary production use.
