Omg thank goodness your ok I don't know you but I'm glad your ok thats crazy! I have a 2002 E320 4Matic and i hit a deer going 40 because he decided to jump out in front of me out of no where 😬🙄 and he bounced off the bumper like a bouncy ball and flew into someone else's yard, which I'm sure scared them when the woke up to find a deer sprawled out in their yard in the morning😒😬... But it was in that moment I realized what a tank this W210 is, it left a small scuff on my bumper you cant even see it unless your being nosey looking for it 🤣

@@Deklectic i also hit a deer in my w210 230 1996 sedan i tried to brake but i think i was doing about 45-50km when i hit. it also bouced off and fell in the ditch. it pushed in the headlight cracked the bumper and bent the hood a little.

I fell asleep in my 98 e320 on the highway EXHAUSTED and slammed into the cement divider ! It DEFINITELY woke me up, my wheel was jammed due to busted control arm ($70) but the car doesnt have a dent nor scratch on it!!! i also felt no soreness or anything after!! thank God for my Benz, I'm still drivin her today !!!

Pretty much all cars from that time were weak from the side. Just look at the E39. With slightly higher speed, like 50-60 kmh, side impact at a pole or a tree cuts the car in half.

This was one of the first cars to ever undergo the pole test. All cars were really weak at the B pillar back then.

At the time of the W210 and W202 it was not going well with Mercedes-Benz financially. They had to cut the budgets and went into a co-operation with Chrysler and went from spearhead of engineering to acceptable engineering. Simple as that. With the W124 the legacy ended.

Euro NCAP was founded in 1996, before NCAP the speed they made crash tests was lower, this is probably the reason why the 202 collapsed in the 64 kM/h NACP. The 202 came on market in 93.

Indeed it is a facelift w210 but mine (a 99 pre-facelift) also has side curtain airbags. It was an option.

It was 2001 restyled model. W210 was produced from 95 to 02

I must comment, because I totally agree with you. Two years ago I had a rollover crash with my E class, and managed to get out of the car with only a scratch on my hand. And thanks to my decision to buy Mercedes E class W210 I am still alive today.

@@oguz8295 It came in market in 95, so it's today a 26 year old construction. It's still relatively safe for the 90s. However, they rusted very early, corrosion protection was quite bad

@@EngiNetion cannot agree. W210 is the last real Mercedes. Built in 1995, few years before Daimler-Chrysler cooperation. It's has all about the true classic Merc should have - classic style, classic interior. Next E class generation for me was a big step backward. W211 is very average in look, and just horrible in terms of quality and durability. I say ultimately - W210 is a last true Merc

Agreed. I prefer the facelift W124. But it's just my taste. I have a facelift-updated prefacelift with +660k km and I love it.
