ESA, like NASA is a government agency that is a colossal bureaucratic organisation. Decision making processes are extremely slow and financing is dependent on 23 nations who lack commitment to space exploration and have even less desire to encourage start-ups that could challenge is possition in the European market. Furthermore, it is ridiculously slow to realise the benefit of open competition because they had it good when ruzzia was tucked in nicely in the European bed. Europe lacks ambition and vision and I do not see this changing anytime soon when you see the EU doing what it does ... fast tracking the creation of a European version of the CCP.

Europe will launch Ariane 6, but not very often. Ariane 5 was nearly $150 million to launch. Starship will likely go down to less than $10 million and be able to launch much more at a time. Ariane 6 is an anachronism, a relic of the old, expensive and wasteful way of doing things.

@jamescobban857
@jamescobban857 2 месяца назад
Actually the Centaur, which has been used as a second stage for over sixty years, is the main advantage of Atlas-Centaur and Vulcan-Centaur. The third stage of the Saturn V moon rocket was essentially a Centaur, and the second stage was essentially a Centaur but with 5 engines, rather than the one or two on a Centaur. The only market where Ariane6, Vulcan-Centaur, and New Glenn have a slight advantage over Falcon 9 is in launches to GEO, and most of that advantage comes from the use of hydrolox upper stages. However it is hard for me to identify applications where GEO has an advantage over LEO. Pace Arthur C. Clarke. For example broadcast television is not competitive with on-demand streaming. In weather forecasting does it really make sense to deploy a multi-billion dollar satellite, like GOES, to GEO, or alternatively to add a Go pro camera to the tens of thousands of Starlinks which are a hundred times closer to the weather? Perhaps Arianespace, ULA, and BO are aiming at a dieing market?

What's Europe? Biggest in Europe is Russia? If you are referring to EU, EU is not europe.

Unfortunately many European countries joined the EU and now they are paying a heavy price by being invaded by illegals . As of Russia , some of Russia is in Europe but a large portion is in Asia ! I hope SpaceX and Elon Musk will dominate all space technology 😊

A ceo doesn’t need to know to build the product, only have skillful employees and listen to their expertise.

And this is why you will be the worst ceo of any company if u ever get to that position. Simple minded and lazy. Is what i get from your comment. Not only that. Do you think a CEO with the practical experience is gonna do worse than a ceo with 0 clue? And to only listen to the expertise of his workers? Are u senile? Thats how you lose your company faster then how u gained it. Employees are also people with ambitions. Doesnt mean they will give the ceo the helping hand he needs. As a matter of fact. Workers when finding out the leader is weak or having 0 knowledge usually work less effective. Finding ways to work but not working. Its alot. Ans by your comment alone i guess you have 0 experience in handling anything. Not even a simple building project for a house. You WOULD know that a leader with 0 experience in said field will not be respected nor will he have workers loyalty besides their loyalty to a paycheck.
