Watch my exclusive video about the global refugee crisis on Nebula:
nebula.tv/videos/neo-unknown-...
At least since the height of the so called European migrant crisis in 2015 there has been an ongoing process of finding answers to the challenges of increased migration. In order to meet these challenges, the EU is currently setting up an agency with the task of guaranteeing European border protection. The European Border and Coast Guard Agency - Frontex.

Immigration due to suffered political or ideological persecution is not illegal. Demanding Asylum is not illegal. Denying asylum and sending people back is not illegal, but that costs too much. What technically seen illegal is, is to not hear these refugees out. Since you never know their reasons for emigration of their home country. And forcing them to go back where they might get killed. That's the issue at hand. It isnt just black and white. There is alot of gray going on. ✌.

@Domi-cv7oo

@BolinFYMThere are good arguments for both letting the immigrants in and keeping them out, however both of these groups don't see the big picture. If they really want to address the problem, they should focus their energy on the root cause of this issue, which is terrible living conditions in the middle east. The people who do actually get into the EU are just a small percentage of the people who suffer under terrible conditions at home. Doing this would satisfy everybody since we would both help the immigrants and stop their influx into the EU.

In view of future possible mass migrations caused by climate changes new international laws should be discussed to regulate the proces as much as possible. why not spend the millions for the planes on some sort of larger ship where you can legally check and register each refugee and legally deport them afterwards if they are not allowed to enter? the goal should be to protect the boarders AND save the refuges that can not go home duo to risk of their life. if the goal is to protect without thinking about human lives they might as well sink the boats imo. the current system (as this video described it) sounds like smth china would do with nord korea tbh
@Croz89

@@dawre3124 That's not really practical. It can take months or even years to process an asylum claim because there is such a massive backlog. A ship holding thousands of asylum seekers for a very long time is a logistical and safety nightmare. It would become a floating refugee camp within days.

I don't think anyone finds it controversial that Europe should have a coordinated service to deal with border issues and migration, it's just sense. What the video did point out as controversial was Frontex's tactics and modus operandi that go against EU principles and international convention. I think for the EU, it would only be right then to determine a proper vision for Frontex and strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of its practices towards that vision, in line with EU and international law and convention.
