Computer generated images does not prove what they left behind. Send up a rover to the points of so called landing sites to prove they were there at all. I am surprised our adversaries haven't done this yet to make a mockery of us.
Photos of the Apollo landing sites have been taken by four lunar orbiters; LRO (USA), Chang'e 2 (China), Chandrayaan-2 (India), SELENE (Japan). Some show descent stages, lunar rovers, deployed equipment, and paths traversed by the astronauts. And why would anyone waste time and money returning to the same places, just to take a few pictures of what is already there. There are many other areas of the moon to be explored.
The camera that filmed the first steps was attached to the LM. Once Armstrong and Aldrin were down the ladder, they took that camera and placed it on a tripod a bit farther away so the camera would have a better view of the EVA.
The video camera was mounted on the MESA panel, attached to one of the storage quadrants of the descent stage of the LM. Armstrong deployed the panel when he exited the hatch, which pointed it at the ladder. Aldrin then activated it from inside the LM. Armstrong later removed it from the MESA and placed it on a tripod, to video some of their activities.

For the first steps, that camera was still attached to a compartment door on the descent module. When Armstrong was at the top of the ladder, he pulled a lanyard to open the compartment, that pointed the camera at the ladder. Aldrin switched the camera on from inside the LM.

It ALWAYS bothers me that the plaque has the name and signature of one of the most croocked presidents of the usa on the moon. Should have been just the 3 astronauts.
I think if the antenna/spire makes up over a certain percentage of the total height then it shouldn’t be considered in the building’s official height. To be honest I want us to build a building that has a roof that passes the 1,776 feet of One WTC.
They could transmit video from the moon by doing two things: 1. they built a special video camera that recorded a low-resolution image at only 10 frames per second. This meant the video signal could fit in only 500 kHz of bandwidth. This was sent to Earth via 10 W transmitter connected to a dish antenna. 2. they built the largest radio antennas in the world (dish antennas with a diameter of 60 meters), with very sensitive receivers, to receive the weak signal from the moon. These antennas became the Deep Space Network: it is used to contact spacecraft including the Voyager mission, at a distance 1 million times farther away than the moon.
Two different lunar orbiters (LRO and Chandrayaan-2) have taken photos of the Apollo landing sites. Those photos show the LM, the science instruments, the rovers, even the foot tracks left by the astronauts.
