EXCELLENT RENDITION OF UFO " LOVE TO LOVE " ( SCHENKER ERA ) BY EUROPE,LOVED THE WAY NORUM NAILS THE SOLOS!! NOTE: AT 1:38 SCHENKER'S DESERT SONG RIFF!
Been a fan of Europe for a long time, but I must say that I am surprised as to how much I like this version. John Norum crushes the guitar in this. The whole band is great & Joey nails the vocals spot on. Love it!
JAILBREAK, lights out, love to love... and Under, Joey it’s magnificent🙏our covers are so great. Yesterday, young on stage Sing’s Beatles🙋🏽♀️love Europe a long time, I’m Fan, Joey sing, dance, run left, right💕energie‼️💋Love to love you, Joey🥰💋
Keep coming back to this video Axe. What a great tribute to UFO and Michael Schenker's playing. It is truly an excellent rendition. Many thanks for uploading!
John Norum Is My Hero I have litsen to hes music since i was 5 and when i heard on a interwev that he was listen to ufo i ofc started to listen to!!! Europe, UFO, MSG 4 Ever!!!!
It’s when someone tries to cover a piece of MS guitar mastery like this that you realize how exceptional he is. This cover is so simplified and imprecise - it makes you realize how exceptional you have to be to do it in a way that approximates the original. If I just listen to the outro it’s almost unrecognizable
just a masterpiece of guitar work by Schenker and Norum nailed it 👍 i also didn't know until recently he played on DON DOKKEN'S solo album until i seen a live video great guitarist
Axe my friend thanks for sharing.... once again you have found another gem from the works of UFO. I think this is a particularly excellent rendition of one of my UFO favourites! \m/
Norum clearly has studied at MSG (Michael's School of Guitar) .... If I was just hearing that finale lead outro for the first time, I would swear blind that is was the flaxen-haired kraut himself! Excellent cover.
@1yesfan I have liked the lead work & tone of John Norum he did playing in Europe, major Schenker influenced there's also a track from them called DANGER ON THE TRACK that has the same riff from MSG ROCK WILL NEVER DIE.. when I first heard Europe doing this cover I was shocked, what a great performance!! I posted Live Europe audio tracks on my ZODIAFV page BTW, thnx for watching & comment,I appreciated!!
Just found this, and its a great cover by Europe, and esp to John N for the guitar work. It is hard to copy Master Schenker but this stands up vbery well. Am sure Micheal was a influence on John?? Still - great cover!
@@IJF1965 he pulled a solo off yes but it wasn't a Schenker solo. Schenker's solo on Strangers In The Night, cries for the loss of the lover in the song. This one doesn't, though it is good, and John Norum is a quality player.
A fine cover, excellent musicians. It doesn´t reach the sense of menace and danger of the original, though. Joey sings great but softly (as is his style), the rhythm section is so civilized, with none of the borderline chaos of Andy Parker + Pete Way.. but nonetheless, a decent version of a classic track. Great guitar.
@2047utube I just did,His Final Countdown is something! he a one man show,it looks comical but he is something great there,he's got a unique way. you were right a mix of Comical/serious type !! a Crazy/Genius kind of guy, if you can call it that!! (I only checked 2 videos so far) am gonna check more of this guy,I really liked the way he puts it together! thnx for leting me know!
Still getting used to typing on an iPad. I was trying to say that I like Vinnie Moore, but I wish John could've done UFO, too. He was the perfect choice.
Sorry, not the "Desert Song" riff, but the adaptation for the original two acoustic guitars riff to one only electric, as played in Strangers in the Night live album.
This is good stuff! The guitar sound is more like Schenker used to sound like in the old days with UFO.Now Schenkers sound is thin and way to distorted!Such a shame.
Nothing against a tribute... But... Not sure if this can be called a tribute. Ow, instrumentally yes, but Tempest actually sound like not even a breeze while covering the GREAT Phil Mogg. He sounds like a puppy, trying to immitate the really BIG dog. And yes, I know I know, he has his own style of singing, and no, I know I know he isn't supposed to sound 100 % like Mogg. But hey folks, if you want to do a tribute, it has to come at least close to the original in power and quality. The only good news here is they didn't decide to cover MSG's Samurai, because covering Mogg singing a slow song is one thing, covering an unchained Bonnet is asking for the Moon wrapped in pink paper with green triangles on it.
Led Zeppelin.
