Europe is a collection of very different countries. I think Sweden is one of the most individualistic countries where young people move out quickly and aren't very dependent on their parents and have few friends. But in southern Europe people are much more family oriented and a 3-4 generations can live in the same house and do everything together.

I like that you film your podcast and put it on RU-vid! RU-vid has always been my favorite platform even if I’m only watching some of the time and often just listening while doing chores or walking or multitasking!

the fitness culture in europe vs the states is so true even in a more 'expat' city like amsterdam where i live - my theory is that because most large european cities are walkable/bikeable 15 minute cities, people automatically get their fitness in just through going about every day life. so it's not a 'goal' to get fit for them. whereas if you live in a non-major unwalkable city in the us, you have to make it a point to consciously focus on your fitness because you're not naturally getting movement through just everyday activities. like americans living in suburbs would drive to the gym to get fit whereas a person in amsterdam or london would naturally walk 10k steps a day or cycle 30 minutes a day already just by going about their day

Budapest is the most beautiful city 😍 (I’m from Budapest born and raised here as well)I think in Budapest people are really frustrated because of the political situation in Hungary and we are struggling a lot and we need a huge change here after this 14 years… A ton of people left the country because all of this and especially a lot of young adults who worked in hospitality. There is a statistic that every second high school graduate thinking about to leave the country… so I think this is why tourists experience this and I m really sorry to hear that but we unfurtunetly know this is the situation here 😢 I have a kid and we also thinking about to leave the country all beacuse of that…

Loved your view! I never really thought about differences in the fitness industry. But as a European (Belgian), I think that our daily lifestyle is more active. A lot of people bike everywhere (at least in Belgium and surrounding countries), so we get our workouts in while we commute. We don't really need to go to a workout class anymore after getting home from work. But I would love to have as many gyms and classes available like in the US!

Loved your insight. Thank you! Is as if in the USA people care more about LOOKING healthy (muscular) versus actually BEING healthier with their holistic approaches.

They might have not been signing around you because of the language barrier, much easier as an English speaker to memorize lyrics

I live in Madrid and definitely agree that guy was super rude but I think it is pretty inefficient that they don’t speak English, since it a lengua franca across many cultures (not just English speakers) Imagine going to Sweden and they are giving you instructions in Swedish, would be impossible especially if you don’t travel a lot and don’t know airport norms
@NatalieBarbu
@NatalieBarbu Месяц назад
I agree it’s easier when English is an international language, but I hated how rude/demanding he was. He could have kindly asked if she spoke English

Loved the whole video but the part about the airport staff not wanting to speak english and your opinion on that was just not for me. it is an airport after all and english is an international language. I'm sorry, but I would expect them to at least try to speak in english even if it's not perfect. surely they can't really expect us (tourists) to learn the language of every country we travel to?!
@NatalieBarbu
@NatalieBarbu Месяц назад
I think if he had asked “do you speak English” or “hey I don’t understand” it would be different but to rudely say “why don’t you speak English” in SPAIN is a little rude to me

@@NatalieBarbu I'm sure that every now and then we've all been a bit tired maybe while travelling or simply had a bad day. This is not an excuse ofc, but still, we're talking about an airport not just a random groceries shop in a lost village. I would expect the staff to be talking at least some english and help the customer, given how many tourists are passing through every single day. Anyways, each to their own, have a lovely day!

And surely you can’t expect airport employee Spaniards to learn the language of every tourist that visits their country… Especially in a country like Spain where there’s no need for English 😂

@@taylorpowers3401 when did I even say that?! I only mentioned English because it is an international language lol. Did you mean to reply to someone else's comment?
