In this penultimate episode of our 21 day railfanning trip, we are in Basel Switzerland and vicinity. We begin with a walking tour of the old town area 1:00, and see lots of trams. Then we look over the recently remodeled Basel SBB station 6:12. Afterwards we hop a train for the short ride to Pratteln 8:52, where the line to Zurich and the original line to Olten diverge. There's lots of action seen from a handy elevated viewpoint 13:44. Then back to the main station for a look at the eastern throat and the large passenger yard just beyond it 22:53. A little more tram watching wraps up this day in Basel 25:46, though it is followed by some bonus footage of the trains and trams of Zurich 26:51.
