Your comment about the joystick was spot on for me. I didn't know it recorded movements, which is a game changer. New item for the wish list for sure. Great walk-through. Cheers!
I’m totally with you on the Fusion Mixer. I wish it had pan controls, but other than that it’s the best mixer I’ve ever used. Better even than any Moog style CP3 mixers I’ve owned. The sounds really do push each other out of the way. In fact I’d love a super deluxe version with pan and further tone shaping per input.
Really agree with your observation about LFOs. You got me excited about the joystick, but I really wish it had the option to be clocked. Do you happen to know if anything like that exists? I’ve been trying to use Assimil8or to accomplish something similar by recording hand-played CV, but as powerful a module as it is, I find the UI and file management on it totally maddening. Just not intuitive or playable for me.
I don’t know! I will say I use it with my sequencer a lot and despite it not being clocked it still somehow gets close enough for me. But I usually don’t want robo-accuracy out of it
Given the sound you seem to be going for, have you tried the AJH Ring SM? Might be a suitable replacement for one or more of your Erica Fusion modules.
I haven’t tried Ornament & Crime, don’t really know anything about it. I’ll have to check it out. Although I’ve used Pamela’s New Workout a bunch and didn’t like the one-knob scrolling through endless menus thing. It slowly drove me crazy haha
I will buy the case but it is so much to think about how to fill it up. Im looking for signal processing, fx and making som drones.. There is just so much out there.
Given the style of music you said you’re going for, your choice of modules doesn’t say „mellow”. Eg DPO. It goes from a polite sine to a screaming wild beast at any opportunity… Polivoks- one of the most brutal vcfs Erica synths ring mod Even the acid pic diode ladder filter You seemed to have really enjoyed twiddling with that ring mod… It would be good to hear what you can make if you are not „trying to keep things mellow” lol Release your wild side, dude!
Heh this is good insight! After working with this system and modules for about a year, I have completely changed it for these exact reasons. The DPO sounds really amazing but I could only use like 1/8 of each of the knobs to get tones I wanted. I still love the Polivoks filter, but prefer it on drums because it distorts so much. It's funny you're leaving this comment today, I was just thinking I should make a new video explaining my latest iteration. On Halloween I made a bunch of loud, scary sounds on my front porch for the neighborhood....The kids loved it and I had a great time, but it made me realize my build was better suited for terrifying people than lulling my wife to sleep.
@@snörre23 you’re gonna love the Sonic XV, it excels at vintage tone and loves to do its own thing. Heh yeah the good ol polivoks filter never disappoints
