ESC 2011 had the best opening, best hosts, best staging, but unfortunately the worst winner... Germany knows how to put up a show and everything was organized just perfect , best year in my opinion excluding the winner
Yash shingan , totally disagree! Portugal had the worst stage ever! Ukraine had the most beautiful stage ever. Openings were masterpieces, and presenters were amazing 💖
Oh stfu. At least we here in the Nordic countries and the rest of the Western part of Europe share the points to the east as well. We vote for the good songs, the Eastern only vote for each other. Romania somehow always ends up doing well despite sending trash songs every year. The East-block as we call it is nothing but politics.
+Petar Mihaljevic It was a great show not so good as Copenaghen or Stockolm were but the winner and the quality of the songs were much worse than the ones in 2014&2016
notice how many spanish people were in the stadium at 41: 45 begging for points from portugal. the spanish singer even thanked portugal in our language, so cute.
this presenter is an arrogant brat, he talked sh** about italy as well throughout the first half of the result process. As a contestant, you think you would be entitled to a basic level of politeness...apparently not.
Love how every neighbor-like voting gets heavily booed throughout the night, but France & Portugal give Spain 12 points & there are loud cheers in the arena. Kinda shows how underrated Spain was that year, deserved much better than 23rd.
i have to say the 2011 Eurovision is the most organized eurovision ever!!!! Very nice show from start to finish!!! Great staging!!! Great postcards!!! Great everything!!!! I'm not sure about the winner though!!! THE SONG IS A LIL BIT THIN for my taste!!!
That moment when you see your country getting twelve points.... I was so proud of Jedward in 2011 😃👍 This was one of the best Eurovision years! The staging was amazing, the hosts were great crack. And the winners were so unexpected but deserved. And so far in the 10's, this was Ireland's best year! xo
***** hahaha Ireland was a country before the British invaded it but OK and what does that have to do with anything anyway? and seriously calm down 😂 When was the last time Ireland did so well in the 2000's-2015? Just showing a bit of pride that's all 👍😉
Honestly ESC 2011 brought out many lovely Songs. Beside 2000 its best collected Songs of ESC . Almost all of them are wonderful. It s a personal taste of Course and unfortunately some votings are political stuff (which i disagree at most) Anyway, Azerbaijan absolutely deserved to win this contest. I love this song. Congrats
This was as brilliant a voting as they can come with over 40 countries voting. Nail-biting, thrillingly unpredictable and with some quite interesting twists. And best of all, neighbour-voting at an all-time low. This voting deserves 12 points.
Raphael Gualazzi (Italy) ended 2nd with Madness of Love, but he should have won, best performance my country has ever given and CLASSY AS HELL. The presenter kept laughing at Italy throughout the first 1/2 of the voting process (until he realized we were a serious thing) bad taste, btw...you're the presenter, behave just a little.
Watching this again, I really think Azerbaijan deserved to win. It wasn’t an obvious winning song but it was beautiful and had such a lovely message. I’m glad they won.
I completely agree with you. This was one of the votings which had a big suspense almost until the last minutes like 1988, 1991, 2003 and 2005. 1994, 2006, 2009 and 2012 votings were boring because their results were obvious actually from the beginning.
There was a time many years ago where I only watched old Eurovision finals to watch the voting, now I always skip the voting when I watch old Eurovision finals :D
I haven't heard English commentators of Eurovision song contest before, so I cannot compare, but I liked this guy!He was so sarcastic and sometimes auto (self)- sarcastic. I really enjoyed him...Kisses from Greece!
the eurovision has always been broadcast in english and french (with certain greetings being stated in the host nations language), so when the french (and belgians btw) announce their scores, they announce it in one of the two broadcast languages, and the hosts translate it back to english...
I love Graham Norton, I really do, but I hate how he's like a lot of people in the UK are; who want the UK to win because it's the UK, not because we have a good song!
Haha! Here in Norway we always complain about the balkans and eastern countries vote for each other... While we gave 7p-Denmark, 8p-Iceland, 10p-Sweden, 12p-Finland.... "But those were good songs"...
See, SVT? If you want to make the voting more open and exciting, all you need to do is alter the voting order. That's what Germany did here - they hired a mathematician to determine which voting order would keep the game open for as long as possible. And as we all know, it worked wonders, neck-and-neck right until Croatia gave 10 points to Azerbaijan. And even then, it looked like Sweden might've soared back towards the end.
Austria was good at this year and we did it to the final!! Since 2004 we were never in the final but Nadine Beiler did it!! Every time we got points (it doesn't matter how much!) I screamed C: I hope we will get in 2015 again many points :-)
