I do not understand why most people dislike this epic song. Melody, lyrics are pure quality. Staging was memorable too. Fokas made an amazing job on stage.
Absolutely. Arash or Arash Labaf is an Iranian Swedish singer and is sensational. A true international Iranian auperstar artist with apparently some Azeri roots. There are many Azeri Iranians. The writers of the song are mostly Swedish...
This was a great song. I don't get why so many people don't like it. It just a quality ballad, with a great singer, great music and the STAGING was just perfection. The performance was so well done and such a joy to watch. The woman in the red dress, the guy in the box, him and Farid being so in sync with each other... Emmelie did have a big competitor
Azerbaijan was great that year! React to Moldova 2015, Germany 2009 and my winners; Belgium 2003, Russia 2003, Slovenia 2005, Russia 2006, Georgia 2007, Italy 2015 and Hungary 2016.
Personally, “Always” from 2009 is still my favorite ESC performance by Azerbaijan (2017’s Dihaj comes close). Song-wise, 2015’s “Hour of the Wolf” is one of my all-time favorite ESC songs (& my 2nd favorite song from that year after Russia)
Lena Meyer 2013 was not weak!!! 😂 It had many great songs like Italy, Romania, Moldova, Greece, Norway, Iceland, though the winning song was kind of weak I do agree on that!
You have to react to Azerbaijan 2009 "Always", it came third after Rybak and Yohanna from Iceland (you should react to her too), it's even more famous than Hold On and I think you will probably feel the rhythm! Link: watch?v=9OEIOS1oUeY
Eurovision Norway I love Crno I Belo! It remains their last entry to qualify for a final, such a wonderful song! Kaliopi almost made it to the final again in 2016 but finished 11th in the semi :/
This is why a good staging is so important. If you have a weak/cheesy song you can lift it with a good show! Eurovision is not only about a song, is about entertainment.
I'm really enjoying to review all these performances with you! So many great memories, especially when you accompanied the steps of the acts from being selected until their big performance! It's also interesting how you often see certain acts a few years later with a whole new perspective! I'm so excited for the new season already 😂
Since you already did the top 3, the only song I can suggest from 2013 is Norway. As for 2013, this is the first year I actually watched the semis as well. As for “Hold Me”, if it’s only based on staging, this song wins hands down. But it’s a song contest and Denmark deserved its win.
If you’re reacting to other 2013 entries, ‘It’s my life’ by Cezar from Romania is a must! It’s definitely a novelty act, but a really good one in my opinion.
Dear Jake Ive been following you since I found the video where you reacted to Rasmussen, Higher ground from Denmark. Its so nice to have you in the Eurovision family 😊 welcome to the family. 🤗 Your reactions are genuin and you smile with your very nice brown eyes 😉 Im so sorry for the lose of your brother, I know the feeling, I lost my mum nearly a year ago 😢 If you want a sister in Denmark, im here 👊🏻 Jake, can you please react to Albania 2012, its a very special song, everything about the artist and proformance is very uniqe 🤩 I dont have a clue what she is singing about, but I feel her pain. Iceland 2010 allways makes me want to dance, the artist is such a great singer. If you react to any of these 2 will you please give me a shout out, so I can show my teenage son that I can get a shout out on youtube 😂🤩 Once again welcome to the family 🎉🎉🎉
Can't wait to see you reacting to Yohanna "Is It True" ( Iceland 2009 ). I think that there are many interesting songs and performances between 1990. and 2000. you could react to. Also, maybe you should react to all the songs from one year one after the other just because you will have a better insight in that year's competition as a whole?! :) I like your face, personality, eloquence, etc. All the best and keep going!!! Greetings from Serbia.
Thank you Jake for your work and dedication (haha btw you know how to side eye). Will you keep on reacting to Eurovision winners from 1956 up to 2003 please?
2011, Eric Saade for Sweden is one I'd like to see you react to. He came third with the song 'Popular' , but for much of the voting, it was very close for 1,2 and 3 position. There was no clear winner earlier on in the voting.
I would say it’s worth reacting to the Euphoria reprise in 2013, as well as Hero’s reprise in 2016 as both were so different from the original performances but still so great, and I would personally say those two are the most memorable reprises of winners. Also the hosts opening song and interval act, Love Love Peace Peace, in 2016, Sweden is generally seen as a good host that makes sure the host have a lot of humor with funny jokes and Måns Zelmerlöw(yes he who won) and Peter Mede in 2016 absolutely nailed it.
Yepp, the staging was amazing...but, meaning no offence, because it was a nice song, the performance itself is the only thing I remember - not the artist or the name of the song. Probably I have to listen to it again to connect the song with what was happening on stage. Maybe it's just me)) love Azerbaijan anyway and was blessed with a chance to see their winning performance live , 2011 Düsseldorf💖
2013 was a pretty weak year when it came to the entries, I think. Petra Mede did an amazing job hosting the show though. I really recommend the opening act from that year, composed by Avicii and Björn&Benny from ABBA Opening of Final eurovision song contest 2013,Sweden, Avicii : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4dAjfmj0kBs.html The winner of 2012, Loreen's singing with a lot of kids, some of them singing, some of them singing her song Euphoria in the Swedish sign language, was also quite amazing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J8tDQe9FE4M.html And if you're up for some Swedish comedy, here is an interval skit from Eurovision 2013: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v8_7yPocGPg.html
Ugh I had erased this entry from my memory, what was Europe thinking?? Yes the staging was really well done and new at the time, but my god was the song cheesy and dated. The fact that people widely prefer this to Azerbaijan's entries in 2014, 2016 and 2018 genuinely baffles me
2013 was a great year. UK sent Bonnie Tyler, Germany Sent Cascada, Ukraine with the giant, The Guy Who was in love because of his shoes, and don't forget Jeremy working in I.T the ledge!
JAKE YOU WON'T REGRET IF YOU REACT TO 1995 WINNER NORWAY! Once again, I am not from a country that participates in Eurovision. I think that only the best performances are worthy of a reaction. People should stop asking to react to their country participants if they did not stand out.
Can you PLEASE PLEASE react to anything Yugoslavian? It sucks coming from country that no longer exists. Yugoslavia did Eurovision from 1961-1992 and sent some pretty decent songs. It is totally overlooked now as it doesn't exist. We won once, 1989, rock me by riva, the following year is also good, 1990 by Tajci - hajde da ludujemo or also the very very last song Yugoslavia sent, 1992 - Extra nena, ljubim te pesmama was probably the best song they ever sent.
@@derekyork9446 Yeah, sure)) Cheating with entries like Always, Drip drop, Running scared, When the music dies and Hold me ? Do you really think that's needed? Ridiculous)
I watched that show live, and I don't remember this at all. I mean, to me this year was weak there weren't anything quite remarkable or memorable except Greece and Greece mainly what we qualify a joke entry. 2013 wasn't that great of the year at least for me.
Shame you're just limiting yourself to "runner ups" . 2016 Sergay Lazarev for Russia third place was amazing, the special effects were out of this world, he was third behind Dami Im from Australia
