The official story about Joost Klein right now is that there was an agreement that he would not be filmed backstage immediately after his performance in the semi final. The photographer violated this agreement and filmed him anyway. He asked her to stop filming twice and when she still wouldn't stop, Joost made a "threatening" gesture towards the camera, not the photographer. He never touched her. However, the photographer "felt threatened" and complained about him. So he got disqualified over nothing...
Joost Klein even was dissatisfied with Eurovision over other things but I don't know what that all is. Just a shame it wasn't investigated earlier so there would be an official statement before the finals.
If you’re saying he got disqualified over nothing, you also say he’s getting charged over nothing. Swedish police said he probably will be charged since there’s good evidence that he did something wrong. All while he ran away from consequences back to his home country, although he will be extradited.
@@martinn543 yes that is what I am saying. If it really happened as the official story claims it happened, then he got disqualified over nothing. Obviously, if there is more to the story and he really did do something wrong, that would change things...
It seems that is not the reason for his DQ, but rather had an incident with a female crew member. The police is investigating this further. I personally also think it’s actually the “why not?” comment, but I won’t make a “conspiracy” unless we hear absolutely nothing about the incident anymore.
@@sadist8902the police have confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation, so clearly *something* happened, but since we don’t know what it’s impossible to speculate as to weather the disqualification was justified.
@@tovekauppi1616 No I know, but it’s just a bit weird everything started going to hell when he made that “why not?” comment, then Israel was bullying them backstage as well and now we’re DQ. I’m not going to say Joost did anything justifiable but it just doesn’t seem right or like he would do something to DQ because he’s there in honor of his parents. I don’t think he’d throw that away over nothing. I could be wrong, because I don’t know him and didn’t even really know him until Eurovision but still.
@@tovekauppi1616 Me too! Then we can actually choose sides. Now it’s too early to fully support Joost and do anything to support him, it’s a smart move from ebu because if he was DQ for an unjustifiable reason the entire festival would blow up so it’s probably smart to stay silent now, tho cowardly.
Fun thing is, there was never a "physical" outing Video evidence of the journo's camera has shown he didn't touch her. Dutch Broadcasting agencies are talking with EBU why his disqualification even was considered by them. It reeks of foul play. Even with evidence from official and amateur sources.
There was no physical altercation, but a member of the production felt 'threatenend' by Joost Klein. This is such disproportional response to something so small and meaningless.
@@Sean-cr7xk No??? The camerawoman was filming him without his permission. He made the threatening gesture after asking her to stop TWICE. (According to AVROTROS)
@@Sean-cr7xkbro multiple resources say that he sas defending himself and that the woman was filming him after the show wich he signed a contract to not be filmed
Corrections: Joost Klein always covers his face with something everywhere and outside Eurovision. The 'physical fight' was nothing. The woman filmed him with a phone but he tried to push the phone away. He didn't touched her at all. That's it. The "Why not" was a defence for Eden. People really can be so sensitive and not open for the participants. This news was already shared in the Netherlands yesterday before the final began.
Ikr. Any time he's overwhelmed he hides his face. Pinkpop and Lowlands is a perfect example for that. He probably didn't mean disrespect. Also we're Dutch. We're direct and he's even more pure and direct than the average Dutchy. His "why not" probably came from the fact that everyone was basically put in danger because of Israel being there (regardless of your stance on the situation, that is a fact, it was dangerous). Israel had their hand held through it all and the other delegations were basically forgotten because of it.
Thanks for clarifying that. Also I agree with the other reply, it's a genuine concern. While I'm not aware of any commited by hamas, Palastinians have a history of sneaking terrorist into competitions in Europe to attack Israeli participants like when the plo killed 11 Israeli Olympians during the Berlin Olympics.
It was not a physical altercation. He made a gesture where the women took offense at after the women for the third time filmed him after the performance which he specifically stated he does not want.. after the third time he kinda snapped and gestured something to the women. The whole thing is on video, which was the problem In the first place, but the women does not want to release the video..
@@hiddeandreae5799 no it doesn't. This is a formal competition, not a backyard school fight. He is representing his entire country and is also an adult. Getting violent, and with a woman, is not an excuse. He should re-read his lyrics because he seems to have forgotten the message to his own song
The video material that was produced of Joost after his performance, despite his explicit wish not to be filmed, has not been released-and rightly so. It would be profoundly disrespectful to Joost to distribute the video material-especially since it was recorded without his consent. Understanding Joost’s poignant backstory, his dedication at the end of the song, and the promise he made to his father to stand on the ESC stage one day, sheds light on his request for privacy after his performance. The emotional weight of fulfilling this lifelong promise, especially after the loss of both parents, is palpable and justifies his desire for respect and space during such a vulnerable time. In the RU-vid video of his performance, you can clearly see and hear how close Joost is to tears as he speaks the dedication to his father. This moment underscores not only his emotional vulnerability but also the deep personal significance of his participation. The real misconduct lies with the individual who ignored his explicit request and continued filming, violating his personal boundaries. This not only disrespected his immediate wishes but also overlooked the profound personal significance of his performance. Such a disregard for his emotional state and the promise he kept is a grave injustice. It would only be fair for the ESC to consider a repeat of the final, giving Joost the opportunity he rightfully deserves, free from undue penalization for a reaction to an infringement of his privacy. This would honor not just his performance but also the promise made to his father, highlighting the human elements that are too often overlooked in competitive settings.
@@Cyhcg5uhgb Far from it. Belarus was disqualified in 2021 due to political message of the song. And many others had to withdraw their songs due to many reasons.
No official source says he had a physical altercation. It was a "threatening gesture" according to the official report. 😂 The EBU allowed a long period of no comments which started these rumours. And they did a poor job clarifying after the rumours had already spread to media.
I'm upset that Belgium and Malta didn't qualify. I just hope Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, or Norway can win. Obviously some songs qualify for there to be a right side of the board. I really thought Belgium was going to be top 5 for sure, just to end up NQ, sad. Malta I didn't think would qualify, but that performance was perfect, robbed. Just give the trophy to Nemo or Angelina and I'll be happy.
Dutch Joost Klein's incident wasn't physical, he got mad because it was agreed upon that he wouldn't be filmed while going to his room. One person didn't respect his boundaries and broke the rules. It's not his fault and the entire country of The Netherlands is incredibly let down.
The guy who said that tried to connect the war in Israel with Eurovision, and basically saying if you are here they might be someone who tires to bomb you and in the process bombing civilians (I think anyway) He's just being anti semitic We Israelis are used to it so we don't really care much Btw the most dangerous place for jews is in Israel even before the war So the danger is not really there for the Eurovision
Because Isreal has been launching attacks on Palestine for several months now, endangering so many lives that the UN made a statement that it would take 8 decades to repair the damages done to the cities… and still Isreal as a county hasn’t been banned from participating. Regardless of wether their rep wins or not, many suspect there will a large outburst of violence from one place or another, which is why they think it’s dangerous that she’s participating at allz
@@ficrispin thats not her fault. and she is putting herself in such greater danger. so many people didnt want her to perform, i bet a lot of them tryed to sneak a gun
He did not have a physical anything.....he was harassed continuously by a camerawoman from the Israeli journalists....he basically told her to bugger off, than she reported him for harassment instead
For extra info: The photographer broke the rule by filming him so he asked to stop filming twice but she didn't listened. So he slightly pushed the phone away. I don't know why she felt threatened by that. This was all backstage where Joost Klein agreed to be not filmed. This is an official statement already shared yesterday in the Netherlands by the spokesperson. Joost Klein felt dissatisfied by Eurovision a while but I don't know what that all is.
I still don’t think Croatia will win easily, yea Switzerland is another possible winner, but not sure about Israel and Italy placements, could surprise us
@therealcatch Explain to me in which world a Jew is a Nazi? Like…. My Great Grandpa is a holocaust survivor he had nothing he didn’t even know what year he was born The only thing he knew that he was Jewish He was adopted by a Jewish family who also survived thanks god I got to meet him
this man is only reporting half of the story. Joost always puts a flag over his head during interviews. As for the comment it was cut off. As for the last part. We literally don't know what happened and why, so again this man is only stating things as whole truths while he knows it's a half truth. Ofc anything could've happened but Joost is known as an extremely nice person in the Netherlands so I'm suspicious about the whole thing until they confirm what actually happened
@@bringoutthet8212there is a video showing him take off the flag and telling eden “why not?” So yeah it was definitely him. By the way I still think he is a very nice person it’s just that he very much acts like a child for good AND bad.
@@user-sb4ti8gx7q It was him who said that. I just mean the flag thing wasn't specific to the Israeli contestant. He just does that. And yes... He is childish. But tbh I don't feel like that's a big of a sin as people make it out to be. Now IF he hit someone really badly for no good reason then yeah. That's a problem. But we don't know anything yet
There was no physical violence with Joost Klein. He asked not to be filmed after coming off stage, she kept filming and pushing, so he made a move. Then got disqualified
The only people endangering the performers are the hateful and violent people who wish to harm anyone because of their nationality. Eden Golan's presence isn't endangering anyone - she's the one being endangered.
He's being quite reasonable. It wasn't a "physical altercation" as it was the female photographer hounding and harassing him to the point of him making a threatening move to her and now he's the bad guy.
@@user-km3dj4bu3p Well a threat is better than literal assault. And after being hounded and harassed by someone to the point of anger, it is in my opinion completely understandable
@@JustEdgeOfficial yes but when you do that on a popular platform, they take things differently and more seriously if they would have let that fly people would say oh its ok to make threats in the eurovision and things like that not good for business
its said one of the members of the dutch delegation got into a physical altercation with a photographer... No names or genders specified... get your facts straight at least cuz if you did you'd know Joost was being weird during ALL interviews, not just the one with the Israëli contestant
Pls cover the story of the israeli stuffmember who was attacked by the greece singer behind the scenes but eirovision decided to take him out of the venue though she was the one causing trouble. Hes spilling all the tea on his platform
It’s because Both Australia and Israel are part of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), it has nothing to do with whether they are in Europe or not :)
I think it's because he has autism. It's the reason you always see him walking with headphones or ears. He probably got overstimulated and needed some rest from his senses
EDIT: IT WAS CONFIRMED it was not any physical or verbal attack. Joost was harassed by a female photographer who filmed him without his consent which he verbally communicated several times, then made an angry move for the camera. Some of the Netherland's crew pointed out the person who reported him was the lady from Israel crew. They stalked him and harassed him after he said Why not? In the press conference. JOOSTICE FOR JOOST 🇳🇱🫡 I think the majority of us didn't believe anyway this man could hurt a woman. Info that he attacked FEMALE reported is not confirmed. It is only known it was some sort of camera person, photographer or a reporter and there was a physical thing. But nothing about the nationality or gender of this person. This channel again spreads false roumors leading to, for now, undeserved hate towards Joost.
@@levu1584 many also say that it was after they repeatedly made fun of the fact that he's an orphan. I'm against violence, but you're no better than the person hitting you if you make fun of his parents being dead.
They did broadcast that it was a female photographer in my country yesterday, but it doesn’t really bother me too much. Of course it is wrong, but we all see how bothersome paparazzi can be…
The Dutch contestant didn’t touch the woman who was filming him without his permission, only after telling her to stop multiple times he put a step towards the camera and tried pushing it away
It wasn't a physical altercation, there was an agreement that Joost would NOT be filmed after his performance after he requested privacy in that moment. Which is understandable considering the emotional weight it has for him. Then the photographer disrespected the agreement and proceeded to film him anyway, after basically harassing him with this a couple times and disrespecting him completely; he made a "threatening gesture". He didn't attack her physically nor verbally. But the gesture made the photographer feel threatened, resulting in her reporting him for it and thus disqualifying him.
Israel would’ve likely won if it wasn’t for the blatant bias from the judges. Since politics aside was Israel’s song good (nevertheless in comparison to the other songs) and didn’t deserve the low amount of point it got from the judges.
@@sisi4508I don't think Australia should be in Eurovision either. If you want non-European countries to participate in Eurovision, you should want them to change the name.
Well, I was spooked on what my instincts told me about the mess Eurovision 2024 is about to become, 2 months back. Now it really is. Just not in the way I imagined. My instincts previously told me that Finland would get into a staging accident and would be replaced by 11th place from SF1, Israel would get 0 points in the semi final and the juries would bloc vote France like they did Sweden in 2023.
But to disqualify someone purely because of allegations is dumb, especially because there are a lot of different stories. There is also the story that someone from the Israel team nade a joke about joost's dead parent to which he didn't react with violence but rather a threat, which is pretty understandable
imagine disqualifying someone for only that instead of disqualifying a country thats openly and willingly commiting a genocide. truly a shitshow. But Israel has money and power 🤡
I don't know if it's true, but I've seen that Joost punched a photographer that was actually mocking his dead parents, but as I said, it's just a version
