@@YTN1112 One with 18 and one with 19 participants, as Italy was still boycotting the contest. If 43 countries participated then it would have been like in 2008 or 2011.
@@Michini12875 there was actually only the one.. .and most people seem to agree that after Petra/Mans in 2016, no one will ever be able to match them. Certainly no one since has come close.
@@FannomacritaireSuomi well that makes one of you who thinks that. Likely any others are Irish themselves. More importantly, she didnt have to do hardly anything at all.. She was more of a simple overseer, than an active PRESENTER/PERFORMER. SO on THAT basis, she isn't the most professional.. ANy capable person can stand there and talk. Ive seen that show and she did an admirable job, but hardly impressive.

the cute little skits in between the entries were amazing! i usually skip past them or don't pay any attention to them but these in particular did a very good job representing Finland's culture whilst also being funny and cute!
They're right that booing at the end! There are 28 countries and only 10 of them qualified, while some of the ''automatic qualifier''s didn't deserve at all.
Well this was the reason why two semi-finals were introduced immediately in 2008, EBU didn't even plan to introduce them yet, but because of this backlash, we got the birth of a format we have right now.
Icelands entry is so underrated! The lyrics are really strong and the song in general can be quite hardhitting. I feel like the band could've taken it down a notch tho. They are exhausting to watch!
I wish 2007 and 2023 swapped the semi-final systems. Two semi-finals already in 2007 and temporary one-semi-final system for this year, since this year has so few participants.
Andorra, Israel, Iceland, Austria, Cyprus and Portugal all deserved to be in the final IMO.... this was the last Eurovision not to have finals appearance completely merit based (outside the permanent Big 5)
