See what I thought of the new Honda ENY1. I even had a go at the automatic parking with mixed results! For more information on the Honda ENY1 at @TheHendyGroup click here www.hendy.co.uk/honda/new-car...
Thanks for highlighting the quirky features missed by other reviews. I think if they reduce the price by 15k or so it would be a car worth considering.
Whilst I'm not a fan of the styling on this new Honda the company would seem to have taken a good look at where they need to be ,and then ignored the findings completely what's needed is an EV replacement for the Jazz with decent range and preferably without a flat screen telly bolted on to the dashboard.
I have ordered a Honda Eny1 for my wife as an introduction into the world of EV driving. I am happy with the choice even though most reviews seem to give it a bad time. I must say though, it was slightly concerning to see on your review that the vehicle had a 96% charge but only a range of 159 miles, I say slightly concerned because my wife drives just 10 miles per day so not much of an issue to us personally. Excellent review though Philippa, thank you.
Hate touch screens for functions that are often needed, like HVAC controls. Had a Honda HR-V that has touch HVAC controls and they were borderline dangerous to use while driving. Touch screens are as distracting and dangerous to use while driving as mobile phones!
A bit of a curious car this, and you’d perhaps have expected Honda to do better and be more competitive with ENY1! That said, it’ll appeal to some - especially Honda fans - and I enjoyed the review.
What happened to the previous Honda-e , I want that car to come back . With all the cool stuff it had too . I think the only cool thing about this was seeing Phillipa Forester .. 😂😂💯💯🙏🙏😁😁
Please, please be honest about mileage and admit that the 'decent range of 256 miles' will in no way be achievable on the roads -particularly in the winter months. It really is about time that EV road tests concentrated more on the realities of ownership rather than simply rattling off all the delightful features of a vehicle as per the sales brochure.
Honestly it comes across as 'nothing special'. My Audi A6 allroad BiTdi from 12 years ago did the self parking (and did a better job), it also had the 'set your own tailgate opening level' (as did my 2007 A6 3.0 Tdi quattro if I recall) and the main use case is to be able to NOT have your tailgate ding your garage roof when you open it at home. Range, meh, charging speed meh (although I can forgive that given the state of our charging network). Loks like a bit of an average attempt at a new car.
All these cars are becoming an unaffordable joke to the average person. £40-45.000 pounds is a deposit on a house. Unlike a house you probably lose 50% of its value in one year. Unless of course you want to be in perpetual debt with leasing and never own a vehicle again. Sad times.😢
Here in Denmark they just dropped the price for the highest spec to roughly £32.000. In a year the price has dropped from £45k, to £41k to £32k. So I guess it would be the same other places as well.
This car is 2 years too late, and maybe £10k too dear. The adjustable tailgate, camera view and self parking have been around on many models for years. And the eNY1 self parking is both too slow and dangerously inaccurate. Shame. Honda can do better.
