I said it before and I’ll say it again, the new vans need to be better than the old oil burners in every way to convince any independent tradesman. A range of 120 miles fully laden in just not good enough, I can get 500-600 miles out of my transit custom fully laden with roof rack and ladders. They also cost way to much for what you get £50,000 + for tech that was designed 10 years ago is stupid

at most i'll do 80 miles in a typical day And the last diesel transit i had spent more time broken then working So if this is more reliable then the diesel then it would be perfect for me

@@thinfourth I’m a plumbing and heating engineer my van is constantly full mostly over the max pay load with all the racks and van vault inside, another concern is battery degradation after 2 years the max charge will start going down look at some older Nissan leaf’s. My dad lives in Scotland and I travel up quite frequently to do some jobs and help move stuff the trip is about 400 miles. I spoke to a British Gas engineer the other week and he said that they are switching to EVs for their fleet apparently they are constantly missing job arrival times because of the range/charging times. I honestly love the idea of an electric van instant torque and quiet but at the moment the manufacturers are talking the piss with the battery pack size and price of the vehicle the tech is old enough now for it to be cheaper than £50,000 +

@@buckleyjteamsjust traded in our 2017 leaf, the bug eyed ones; battery health still on 97%, 59500 miles on the odometer.

62mph too speed? 😂😂 omg And that range is ridiculous. My van is always under load 100% of the time, i doubt it would give me 100 miles on a charge. So not for me until the range is atleast 160 miles with it loaded

hehe i agree, numpties can keep their EV's, I'll wait for Hydrogen hybrids (the sensible, logical and smart choice!) that will solves all the problems i mentioned in the comments!

Not good enough from either brands tbh, the range is terrible on both. If you wanna sell this to people the range needs to be at least 300/500 miles on a charge. Poor poor poor lol

@@meta0269 but that's irrelevant. You choose the van to do the job you need it to do. If you only do 100miles/day then fine, just as I'd buy an EV car for around town. But when you are travelling between towns you quickly knock up 100++ miles in a day. The range also has to offset the additional cost of the E-van by a long way to justify the purchase. Lot's to consider before you'd put your cash down.

Both are more expensive to run them in reality, filly loaded if you charge from external chargers.

No point 62 mph 100 miles, trying to go London to Edinburgh would take a fortnight, sorry kids no more camping trips in Scotland 😅

I bought a Fiat Talento, the worst mistake I ever made. The Turbo failed after approximately 13000 miles, the van has only now done 17000 miles and it will cost £1000 for a new Turbo and £2500 labour to fit it within the Stellantis network. Terrible quality in my opinion.

The distance you can cover highly depends on the temperature. It is 30% less when it is above 25%, and up to 45% less distance with minus temperatures. Similar size VW crafter which is used as shuttle from a Poznan Ławica airport has 120 km only in reality. 3km distance and back. Diesel Crafter 800 km and cost 35% less than the electric version. To sum up, ev is a disaster.
