Shoutout to Chloroken for having shown the world this technique in his A Nomad's Tale series, fantastic way to both be safe and be able to huff a full cloud.
@@waddenderas7774 I called this nomad scooping, since it's primarily useful for caravan nomads who boost, since they're often solo. But your name is cool too. You can watch me sort out this technique in episode 10 of my series at 28:22, but I've been shown some compelling evidence that a few others knew of this even before I figured it out. Also, side note, but you can indeed spin (jedi) every single gas site in Anoikis, not just ICRs. And in my experience spinning is indeed safer in every capacity against players, even with camo (another technique in my series).
@@chloroken Nomad Scoping, I like it! I have no doubt others have found this technique before me. I'm looking forward to starting your Nomad's tale series from the beginning. From spinning of the lower value gas sites, it's sig tanking in that case right? You can't keep out of their range because the clouds simply aren't large enough? And for sure on it being safer against other players, if you're going to sit still for long periods you're very exposed!
While exploring a wormhole today, I saw a person collecting gas as shown in the video. Apparently there were slippers, but they didn't attack. I wanted to know how to do it and eventually found this video. Thank you for the great video!!
So far the best video about Eve Online I have seen. Everything is explained clearly , no hidden implants or super expensive modules or ships that hardly no one can afford. Thank you !
this is the way how people farm anomalies with carriers that has other capitals in them with max dps and range fit in eve echoes. sitting outside of agro range. If AI works the same like in echoes than even if they agro you if you go 250km+ away from their spawn location than they might deagro and go back to that location where they spawned. With this technique you can be very imaginative to farm NPCs that would normaly overpower you.
Nice explanation, thx for the upload!! Vast and Bountifull works aswell (the Bountifull is right at the edge). The Ordinarys you can do if you burn a ping at 100+ km from the towers in a tanky ship (Buffer Moa works well), heared some pppl saying you even can do it for other sites beacause the aggro ranage of the rats is lower but never tested. If the rats are already spawned you can just warp 100km make a bm, warp out and rewarp that bm at 100 and so on to get in a position where youi are out of aggro range to burn a ping uncloaked.
sounds like a bug from the old days... i'm honestly not sure if 250km was the max lock range, no matter what, back a few years ago but it sounds right with my memory. (correct me if i'm wrong pls)
80 minutes to fill that mining hold of 12500 m3. I don't need D-Scan bc i'm not staying for it. Ninga, Jedi, chameleon huffing. How do you call the one where you orbit an asteroid while rats try to kill you?
Once i find a cloud i bring my huffers into system and leave them cloaked. Then i send my scan ship to zero and start burning up if the rats have not spawned yet. Then i warp the huffers to zero to suck up the small cloud before the rats spawn. Scanner places a bookmark at 270ish from beacon and warps out. Once the small cloud is gone the huffers warp to the bookmark. If im worried about another parrty in system i will not worry about the small cloud. The only threat when on the bookmark is combat scanners so as long as you are d scanning like a mofo you will be fine.
@waddenderas7774 2-3 prospects but I use faction scoops so my cycle times are 22 Seconds with no boosts. And some times the rats spawn before its gone and I just warp them up to the 270 km bookmark and huff that. If I'm lucky the connection with be good after down time and I'll go back and get the rest.
No not at all, you can daytrip in from K-space. There will be a bit of work required scanning through chains to find a C5/6 with the right site, but definitely a viable option
This method does not appear to work anymore, rats engage pretty much instantly at 230 km and one shot you, the cloud can become too small and not allow you to huff.
this is great but for this type, i wouldnt get a covetor, i would get a retriever. itll hold like 35k. you can sit there without warping back and forth so often. ill pass you video on to my friends in a c5. i would love to bring my 3 covetors and porpoise and try this. =) boosts and compression is nice. its like 400m3 every 60 seconds per cov. disgusting.
Thank you for sharing pal! Yeah agreed, if you're going to solo, Retriever would be most efficient. If you've got a porp in there with compression though, Covetors all the way!
No, the most efficient method is to be part of a wormhole corp. The corp will need to maintain a scanned chain. Therefore, people will be happy to bookmark gas sites and pop rats for the gas huffers. You also get comms intel, the quality of which depends on the number of people who are online.
Great video with one exception. There is no such thing as a gank anywhere outside of high sec. A gank is literally suiciding a number of ships to kill a target that can’t fight back and then being killed by concord.
No that's a suicide gank. Why are PVP's always trying to justify themselves. Blowing up defenceless much weaker ships is always a gank irrespective of what security, just own it.
Gank has NEVER only meant a suicide gank and certainly is not "literally" what you said. Are you like 12 years old and new here? That's precisely why why "suicide gank" exists as a qualifier added onto "gank." It'd be redundant to say otherwise. Ganking is an umbrella term that refers to ANY killing in a video game where the target is far weaker, unable to fight back, caught unawares, killed by a much larger group, or otherwise killed in an underhanded way, etc. A gank can include one or many of these general conditions. This definition applies to EVE too. Always has. Like dude above me said, just own the fact that a gank is a gank and that's fine. It's only shameful if you feel ashamed that you've done it.
