I would LOVE an updated video on this. I know they have done some changes over the last year since I have played. Not sure what is different from then and now. I will be headed to low/null soon for some fun chances at isk.

I see you've relocated from Aridia to Molden Heath. I'd say that's a smart play. Aridia is a hugely dangerous place to be. The western half where you were before is the lowsec crossroads of the Goon territories of Delve and southern Fountain and sees a lot of PvP action. Moreover your way out of Aridia is completely bottlenecked - Nema and the systems to its east are single pipe and almost always camped. Plus Aridia is so very far from anywhere else that's it's a terribly impractical location for most anything. Weld and the eastern half of Molden Heath on the other hand are very quiet. Yes, Egbinger a few jumps west has a lot of asset safety-related and general PvP (it's also the entry point into the Great Wildlands), but the Kattegaud pocket and east up to Fegomenko are lightly trafficked. Plus you have a northern route back into high sec Teonusude that's a local market hub and under

Low sec guide to mining: go to 0.0 where it's safer.
@mavendorf121

sorry to say this. the only time nullsec is safe is if you are in a mid - big nullsec corp.. that has not only the means to defend themselves but also any mining fleets they have out. trust me this is coming from someone that did nullsec mining for two years straight back in 2012/2013.. and if you think its safe.. try getting there in a covetor ship.. not once not twice not three times but four times without getting popped.. its not fun at all. now before you go and say oh well thats easy get a covert op's cloak with a ship that can not only fit it but also run it. thats simple stratios can run it fine.. blockade runners can.. blackops ships can etc. but here is the thing.. unless your in a nullsec corp before you even make your way to 0.0 your screwed unless you have luck.. because you sure as hell will not be able to buy a mining barge or friget etc once in 0.0 unless as i said you are in a 0.0 corp.. in my case i was but problem was.. the corp were never online when i was.. so i had about 31 billion worth of 0.0 ore. that i could not sell neither could i transport it back to hisec as i didn't have the means to do so. what im saying is.. don't go spreading/misleading people thinking of going to 0.0 and besides this vid is about lowsec not 0.0 space. and yes i realise this post that you made was done 2 years ago but again just like i have seen/watched this vid someone could watch it and see your comment and think ooh wow thats a great idea lets go there.. only then to find out that they not only are screwed to fuckery but even if they manage to get into 0.0 and survive.. that they are not likely to make any profit without being in a corp there.

@@mavendorf121 only reason to go to nullsec space without joining alliance owning that space are to try kill people living there. i use 3 toons for mining in nullsec. and ive never had any issues at all selling my ore to people around me, infact i could sold alot more if i was able to mine it. allso there is usually a few JF services you could use, or atleast should be if your in a desent alliance. i usually dont do that, but if i got need to move ore to high sec, its fairly cheap and it wont be any issues with that at all

@@goldeneagle256 yeah thats pretty decent of you Kristian. to be honest i got my skills trained up for the prospect at the beginning of this month. which is the that can fit a covert op cloak. but i havent decided yet to venture into that space. hope that your new year so far is going well and that things continue to go well for you.

@@mavendorf121 can't complain. My point is that if you know what your doing null sec are safest and most profitable place to be. Never used prospect for mining. Main boost with porp or Orca, and 2 others use either barges or exhumers depending on how safe I feel atm. 2 barges and a porp aren't more then 250 mill or so, and that combo can do 100 mill + an hour, so even if you loose it all, something you need to mess up really bad to happend, it barely matter cause you make it back so fast. I loose maby a barge a month on average, barely pocket change

Great video series and I love low sec it's like the wild west of eve and I couldn't see myself living anywhere but low and j-space. I will say BPOs for lower level manufacturing can definitely be worth it because BPOs for frigates and under really are not that bad if you are trying to make battleships for the ratters that's a different story but you can get your money back on things like tristan or rifter hulls relatively quick especially if you are selling near FW territory, you could probably justify industrial blueprints too such as barges or t1 haulers. Manufacturing in low is so much better than HS because you don't need to worry as much about idiots selling at a loss because they think "the minerals I mine are free".
@Stephen__White
@Stephen__White 6 лет назад
I feel I should note, low sec isn't a solo place. If you are constantly running from reds you are not making isk, and the risk vs reward for low sec is woefully bad unless you are doing moon mining. Though if you have friends, it can make for some decent profit, but at that point just join a group like Brave as a group and just mine there. Better isk for lower risk. In my opinion low sec should be avoided at all cost, for anything other then PvP.

So you invest more time on vigilance and lose productivity. But you gain access to a more valuable resource. Well it seems to boil down to that old John Henry saying, "time is [ISK]." Question I have, is the value of the lowsec resources sufficiently valuable enough, to be worth the time to gather while taking these extra steps? I mean I might cut 20 cubes before Jackass shows up and I have to bounce... then he can waste hours of my time camping there forcing me to take time to move somewhere else until he leaves. Which I guess mean I have to invest time scouting out multiple locations.

That's interesting. I'm wondering if the trade off is worth it to keep your ship in motion the way you describe. Yes it gets you to warp appreciably faster, but it also causes a lot of maneuvering when your ship floats out of range. Anyone cloaked watching you do this would take full advantage of it. I'd probably only use your tactic to squeeze out just a little bit more if I saw someone questionable warp into system. Otherwise it makes much more sense to just stay put and stay aligned.

I low sec mine, but also rat Clone Soldiers which can make you quick isk, and also Mordu as well. Bad thing though is that the BPs they drop have really dropped. A Barghest bp use to contract for over a billion, and now they are maybe 100 mil after the recent updates to industry. Doesn’t make sense to build a ship that cost over 2 billion to make and sells for just over 1 billion. So back to mining and hold onto them.

You should replace that survey scanner with an ECM burst. It'll usually knock off frigate scrams, and with a procurer you've got enough tank to probably last until it gets a jam off.

Corto Maltese ECM Burst is a high slot module, so you won’t be doing much mining. A multi spec mid can be put in for breaking the lock of a single frigate.

This is very similar to what I was doing last time I played EvE. I always took precautions and never got successfully ganked. I eventually got into production, and to my dismay I found that the things I produced were being fed into the market by the game itself in order to keep basic pvp hardware easily accessible for all the "scary ninjas", making profit near impossible even with perfect processes. That's 3 completely different times I played the game at 3 completely different stages in the development, and each time I tried something different, and each time I was disillusioned. Not by all the infantile wannabe players, I can deal with those for the most part, but by the (contrary to the myth) intrusive and often non sensical ways of CCP. Despite this, and despite the state of the game with the endless alt's etc, EvE is still pulling on me. And (strangely to most I'm sure) mining was actually the most enjoyable thing I ever did in the game, and PvP the least.
@MnemonicHack
@MnemonicHack 6 лет назад
What exactly was "fed into hte market by the game itself"? I'm aware of very few things that are actually seeded by the game via the market, and almost all of those things are stuff that can't really be built.
@QualeQualeson
@QualeQualeson 6 лет назад
Well, this is a long time ago, and I can't exactly say anymore what the extent of my claim is. But they were low tier ships and parts to secure hardware accessibility, which in fact the PvP roaming community demanded from CCP. You could (and probably still can) easily trace these things through the NPC indy corps. At this point though, it hardly matters anymore. The idea of EvE as a game with any kind of internal integrity is dead and buried, and those that cared are long gone. EvE today belongs to the mobile market mindset. EvE was always to some extent a lie, but now it's just a joke.
@MnemonicHack
@MnemonicHack 6 лет назад
@@QualeQualeson Unless it was over 13 years ago, then I've got to say, you're outright wrong. Ships and modules are not seeded on the market in any way, and haven't been for the 6 years I've played, and I'm 99% certain haven't been for a lot longer. Unless you can show some proof, I'm afraid you're not convincing me in the slightest, since I'm an active player right now and I do industry so I think I'd have some good optics on this.
@QualeQualeson
@QualeQualeson 6 лет назад
This is fairly common knowledge still. Only months ago there was a discussion on reddit. The question is not if it happens, the question is to what extent. That you are completely oblivious is not my concern. I don't wish to sound rude, but the truth is I don't care in the slightest what you believe. I wouldn't "prove" it to you even if I could, I'm not on trial here. I'm just telling people what I know, and honestly, if you just thought about how vulnerable a micro market such as EvE is for a minute, you'd realize that they simply can't let it be 100% player driven. Supply chains would be broken on a daily basis. To be able to even play the game still, you have to have a certain capacity for let's say biased perspectives. Trying to convince certain EvE players that their ship is leaking, is like going on Star Citizen forum trying to convince the fans that there is something wrong with their capacity for reality orientation.
@MnemonicHack
@MnemonicHack 6 лет назад
@@QualeQualeson Could have easily just provided proof. Instead you claimed it wasn't your job, then wanted to wax philosophical about it. Eve has got a lot of problems, as does CCP. But I don't have a reason to take something on word alone when I've seen nothing to the contrary. And if it doesn't mean anything to you, whats the point of even bringing it up?
