o7 Capsuleers! Here is a great Gila to get your start in the abyss, so if you're looking to try out Abyssals without risking billions of ISK in higher tiers, this is the fit for you. T3s are great for learning the Abyss and building yourself up so that one day you can run those higher tiers. This fit/ship requires the least amount of pilot input, so it's great for people who aren't too familiar with the mechanics to get used to that sort of stuff. Thank you so much for the video. I am trying to get my feet wet with this Abassals. I am looking forward to seeing T4 videos as well. There are lots of bling fits for T5 but too expansive and risky for me. I want something safe that can survive even the unluckiest spawn in T4 and still manage to farm them without going bankrupt. Min Kim I have a more blinged put passive regen Gila idea in mind that I’ll get to work on! Glad to hear you liked it :) but yeah I totally understand the expensive bling part, and there are definitely cheap viable fits that can do T4s easily that aren’t wallet-breaking!

Thanks for this video, really helped me out! It's like you said, it let me focus on flight mechanics and learning the abyssals. No need to worry about shield or cap. Did almost run out of time in a site with a lot of swarm drones. So still need to work on my target priority... But this build made abyssals actually a lot of fun!

I have found using a Packrat Mobile Tractor Unit and Drone link Augmentor, your drones can reach further without you diverting off the conduit. Getting plenty of Zero-Point Condensate to build my BPC's. Looking forward to seeing T4 videos

Torvald Uruz I think I had 2 Battleship rooms but the Battle Ships had the tendency to fly away from the gate. I then had to follow to them all the way to the boarder and go back to the gate.

@@jannis1627 A year late so I know that you've probably figured out how to deal with this issue by now, but you need to orbit them close enough to force them to circle in place. If you aren't able to keep a somewhat tight orbit, they will just fly away from you attempting to get into their optimal range, and will go all the way to the edge of the pocket. By orbiting close you keep them basically stationary since they're just pivoting in place to try to fly away from you non-stop. The Gila in this video is plenty fast enough at over 600m/s that it can do this for sure.

Torvald, would you update the fit for an Entry Gila now after all of the patches and resistance modifications. I've been running a Caracal Navy Issue for T1-T2 Calm Gammas. I learn a lot from your PVP piloting in Abyssals. Super vids.

Laurent Carlier hey no problem! :D yeah it sure can! Since it’s passive shield regen you don’t have to worry too much about cap, but it’s still important to kill starving first that way you can keep your adaptives on.

Yes you sure can! I suggest using the 3% shield capacity and regen implants if you do other sites, and I'd also recommend against firestorms unless you've got all around good skills! and of course avoid darks XD hope this helps!!

Used almost this exact fit (was cheap and only did the T1 purger rigs, but used T2 launchers). Ran 5-6 sites just fine, but then ran a thermal and got 2 missile battleships in the first room and was absolutely wrecked. Only pulled about 40-50 mil from those sites, now I'm out ~250 mil. :(

Peter M. Abraham, BSN, RN that’s not as important in T3s, for higher tiers you’d want to look at that, but the Gila has a natural low EM resistance, and you encounter a wide array of incoming damage throughout the Abyss so I feel like the adaptives work better. So far, no tanking troubles! I might look at upgrading this to T4s and going faction as well as a specific gardener

Hey man! Great guide. So I've been trying abyssals with your fit but I can't seem to handle battleships (Bathyic Abyssal Overmind) in the last pocket. The damage they do just shreds through my shield and so far I haven't figured out how to pilot to survive them. You got any tips on that?

Hey! To deal with that, you’ve got to get as close as possible and orbit with your afterburner on. You’ll have to take care of the small drones that web/target paint, and be aware of blue clouds that increase signature radius and the tracking pylons that’ll increase his tracking.

After watching this video i played my first t3 site (firestorm) in a gila with t2 modules. Had two pockets with a battleship in it and my shields getting sometimes really low with 20-30% left. Can i ask why u use prototype arbalest rlml instead of tech 2 launchers? With this fit are all filament effects possible excluding dark?

I used the meta missiles over T2 to lower my DPS in order to show people who might not have as high skills as I do that this can be done! But if you can use T2 launchers - do it! Also yes, it works for all sites except for dark. Just be sure to pay attention and focus on priority targets!

Thanks for watching :D no implants needed! Though you can use the two 3% shield implants that increase capacity and shield regen, they’re around 20m ISK a piece

Great video! When I simulate the fit I get around 56K ehp and 76s/hp for shield regen. However only 4:30 of cap time, even I switch to the YS8 compatct ones i only get 5:30 cap time. Can i still do t3 abyssal with the implants. Do i have to go omega to get the after burner skills to make it cap stable.

Yeah you can use the implants! People struggle with this fit because they get capped out and invulns get turned off, and they end up dying. Make sure to always prioritize neuts! Also, changes coming on the 15th so these passive regen Gilas are going to be a little less effective!

@@TorvaldUruz Thank you for the answer! That is almost what i did but made the error of not starting with the big drainer marshal with my drones. So I was basically drained and had to get within 45km without any cap and then I was pretty dead :) Looking forward to the updated guide!

Hello, I have a question. My ships have extremely low DPS and that's mostly because of my bad skills (I'm an alpha clone). I don't know which are the best to maximize my DPS.

For the Gila, train the cruiser skill that increases missile damage (I can’t remember off the top of my head if it’s Gallente or Caldari, look in show info of the Gila) and go down the Drone skills and train some of the support stuff there to help out!

TheGBA sorry I don’t know off the top of my head, I’m a horrible numbers guy! I can experiment, I have this Gila sitting ready to go with a few things I want to try so I’ll let you know :D I plan on trying a bunch of T4s with this and a slightly upgraded version to see how it goes

Definitely! I’ve not tested this one against the new NPCs, there has been an update to the Abyss so I’m not 100% sure if this is still viable but I’ll be testing it here soon

This fit works for all T3s except for darks, and for T4s it only works in Gammas.

You can’t use a hot key for that, you can only use a hot key for the drones altogether. I use 1 for launching drones, 2 for engaging, and 3 for returning.

Sorry it took me longer to get back to you on this, even though I answered in Discord I’ll answer here in case anyone else has the same question :) You can launch, engage, and recall drones with hot keys, but to send specific drones after specific targets you have to right click the drone and select “engage” and that drone will go after whatever target you have selected!

Kristian Furland yep precisely! The extraction/sub nodes only drop small amount of materials, with no chance of mutaplasmids/skillbooks/filaments. Some people go for them, I focus on site completion and moving to the next site as quickly as possible!

Hello there! Is there any updates after the surgical strike patch for us noobs? I’m ultra new with 1.5m skill points, and struggling a bit with t2 now with this exact fit. What’s the ideal ehp and dps for a t3 abyss?

Hey! I’m not too sure on numbers I’ll have to double check when I get on tonight, but this fit is mostly unaffected by the Surgical Strike patch! The adaptive shield hardeners went down by 4% total, so it’s not too much of a change. What specifically do you struggle on?

Torvald Uruz thanks for the reply dude. It’s usually the abyssal overmind. Can’t take it down before it deals a lot of damage and getting very close doesn’t seem to be very helpful? Usually orbiting a drifter battleship at 2500 will solve the tanking problems but not with the overmind. I was down to half my armour once and man it was scary!

Basically skills! Check out “The Magic 14” on Eve Universities Wikipedia, there are skills that give you better cap and reduce the amount of cap mod use

Andrea Rios yeah definitely! So for the Gila it’s the Gallente cruiser skill as well as the Drone skills; Drone Interfacing, Medium Drones, and the specialization for the specific drone you’re using (but only for tech II drones). Faction drones do less DPS because they don’t get the racial specialization bonus that the T2 drones get. Hopefully this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions!

Andrea Rios yep definitely! For Gammas make sure you’re using Nova missiles and Valkyrie drones and you’ll be good to go

I tried this, the exact fit you gave with my last 500mil. I lost my gila in the third abyssal. One starving was left when i was out of cap and it was hitting me for 1100-1500... i m devastated :(

Damn... Sorry to hear that! Top priority with this ship is killing anything that neutralizes or webs you, with neuts being the primary. Make sure you’re using T2 Valkyries on Cruiser and above and Faction for small stuff also!

Same. I tried the content a while ago and found it to be very inconstant. You'd have a series of easy runs and then get three shotted without a clue of how or why

Yep it still works! It might be tough or not work if your skills are low (below Level 4). I’ve been testing this out recently and so far it’s been running very well!

Tried it yesterday the tank holds up quite well, just need to make sure u take out the cap neutors first otherwise they cap u out and u run out of shields pretty quickly and keep an eye on ur drones since they hammer them pretty hard.

I'm running T2s in a worm, I think a hola with enough tank can easily run T1s. Just keep the shield recharge up and also try to bring your resistances up and you should be fine.

gamma filament cost 4 million each so u subtract that from 15 million per site to 10 million???

Yep! Unfortunately some sites don’t give as much so you might only be breaking even, I’ve had some pretty unlucky loot drops. But you also have a chance at some really good loot!

Are the T3's profitable though? The filament is 3 million. Then you have the ammo (I can use the T2 launchers so the missiles are cheaper but the faction missiles are expensive). I think the sites only drop something like 7-12 mil. All it would take is to lose one of those faction drones and you'd barely have any profit on many of the runs. It seems like it would take a very long time to make your ship back. You' talking about a profit of something like 15 mil per hour. I tried this content a while ago and have decided to give it another try but from memory, the T3 sites drop between 7-12 mil. If true then what you make in a week I can make with a few faction relics in J space and only with the risk of a 30 mil ship

Yeah they’re still profitable! In the long run you’ll get some good drops (T5 filaments, unstable mutaplasmids, skill books) that really help the profit. While T3s aren’t the best, it’s a good stepping stone for PvE and you’ll be able to turn a profit that’s worth your time while you build up to higher tiers.

No problem man ask away! You’re better off asking in the in game channel “Abyssal Lurkers” where there’s a ton of people who can help out. T4s are definitely worth running over T3s because you can do them in sub 1B ISK fits and pull more ISK out of each site.

I’ve been curious about this one, since I’ve posted this video there have been two significant updates to the Abyss. After the first update (Surgical Strike) it worked fine, but I’ve not tested it since the latest update that added a bunch of new NPCs.

I think you need a shield booster regen fit tank.. I think hateless gamer on RU-vid has done some videos and guide recently...hopefully will try again (when I can afford a new gila haha)
