I like the Tom Cruise reference in regards to the "Marketing" Ad. Like others, I returned to the game having left back in 2006. I had everything (including an alt) intact. Thank you for the informative video! I keep coming back to watch your videos to "refresh" my memory. EVE is and always was "Future Proof".
Going back to EVE and I'm useing these videos to get my bearings since the last time I played was in the Trinity expansion. It's like I'm a noob again, it's awful :))
I'm just returning now... my old character has a cruiser, a couple of million ISK, hundreds of unread emails and I'm totally lost, lol. Full on noob! Need to start a new character just to get to grips with the game again before I return to my old character.
Only playing for the last month (April 2019) and yea, lost 4 ships already. This one video alone would have saved me a lot of grief, TERRIFIC VID!!! This is a must watch for every new player! Thank you 'james on the internet' and fly safe! :)
I have been thinking about playing Eve for sometime now but the P2P put me off. Decided i would start playing yesterday though and am finding it rather hard.... that was until i found your guides! Thanks a bunch learning quickly now.
lol, had fun one day taking almost 6 hours to triangulate an abandoned ship in his 'safe' spot - worked, though! d-scan and bracketing location with dropped bookmarks closer and closer
@@sprintonwater Just searched it up and I'm quite annoyed because I just joined Signal Cartel about a day ago and am planning on completely exploring...
I like the video but you got one thing wrong. There is no crew to give orders to. You are a clone in a pod that is hooked up to the ship matrix style. When the ship is destroyed, your pod is ejected. There are no additional life pods for a crew. Gotta get the backstory right.
did they change the lore? I am new to the game, it came to my understanding that you are really alone flying the ship as a capsulier not having your own crew.
The lore about ships crew goes like this jestertrek.com/eve/blog/2013/ships-crew.png That shows how many crew members for a ship. The crew members do stuff like cleaning, operating turrets, and stuff like that.
I can see how you'd assume this is the case. Seems like common sense. But actually according to the game lore ships require human crews to operate core functions. See here: wiki.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?title=New_Eden_Crew_Guidelines
@@sprintonwater that's neat and all, but after reviewing this whole situation, it has been over 3 years This directly contradicts what is shown to you in the very beginning of the new intro. So either it's been retconned since this video, or there has been some step up in how capsuleers interact with their ships.
@@sprintonwater for the record, I assumed it had always been like it was in the new intro. Seems like there has been some advancement in the lore I think.
A little inacuracy regarding the start of the video, capsuleers (the players) are the captains of nothing. They are essentially hardware intergrated into the ship greatly improving the automation of the ship and improving the effectiveness far beyond a tradtional crew capability; they actually have little to no interaction with the crews of the ships that they man nor do they need to; furthermore, frigate and destroyer crews are already so small that having a capsuleer on board foregoes the need of a crew at all, and as such most capsuleer frigates and destroyers don't have them.
Re: Bookmarking: This sounds like I should use a Corvette with no fittings to scout these points out, esp low sec areas. That way you have nothing of value when jumped at a gate or docking points. This is a good series.
Thanks man 😊 For bookmarking use a fast T1 frigate (like Condor or Atron), with an MWD and maybe some speed mods. In LS you can really avoid everything by crashing back through camped gates and just generally being very slippery. Speed is also a must for making BM's, cos sometimes you'll need to burn out off of gates/celestials etc.
tacs and deep safes are still totally possible. only your tac is on grid which is actually better cos you get better recon on the gate. but yeah to make a safe off of d-scan you need an incursion site.
Thanks for posting these but I have to be honest, it makes me not want to try the game. Having to manipulate bookmarks to stay alive really kills it for me. Seems like half a step above using systemic glitches rather than good gameplay.
In EVE its a click and point game a 5 year old can learn to play it . This is just a bunch of end gamers in EVE and they distory every game they get into .
