That explains why I no longer need to upgrade the link between my extractor and my storage facility, when I'm extracting a very high amount per hour. I noticed that one day I just no longer had to upgrade the link, no matter how much I extracted. I had no idea why, and thought it may have been a bug, but it looks like this is the cause. Thanks for pointing this out!
I don't mind the change. I like doing PI, but when I'm busy, PI is my first thing to do. Normally I have to do something every 3 days. If this means I do it every 6 days, then that saves me a little bit of time. It does not change how much PI stuff I get, I'm not going to get any 'richer'. I will just spend a little bit less time doing it and a little more time doing other things.
This is all very well if you are in null-sec or a WH but try performing it in hi-sec. When I was in Providence I made billions from pumping out Robotics but in hi-sec there is always one material that is hard to get a good stock of. I am currently in hi-sec using two accounts and their alts all maxxed out for PI making Tier 4 products but it takes me all day and I'm shortly packing it in due to burn-out and I'm going back to having fun. My 2 alts can produce Tier 3 which is fast to do (one hour per day max) whilst after that my main is a free agent 🙂 I just pray CCP never allow Alphas to perform PI lol. Regardless, great video!
Just find a c2 with a static HS exit and set up your own pocos to avoid tax, or go to NPC null and set up shop somewhere with a station. I am being super lazy about my PI and I pull in 300m a week just doing P1 with the 3 toons on my account. About 90 minutes a week time investment. Oh, and I just came back to Providence too!
There is no denying that it's a lot more profitable and a little easier in null-sec and J-space, but hopefully these changes help you not to burn out with your set-up in hi-sec!
I used to own a c2 with a hs static still have my pos anchored and I have a scanner inside just don’t own the pocos anymore. Some randoms living in it but they’re not very active. If you want to squat let me know. I have a friend squatting in there right now doing PI
What if you stack maxed out R&D on top of maxed out PI in wormhole or null sec? What if you stacked on that BPO Research & Contracting? Can you pretty much live in wormhole off someone else's public structure?
You would have crazy levels of passive isk coming in! For public structures in wormhole, look into Wormlife Freeports, they operate several that should be pretty accessible. I don't know what services they have on board though, but you can definitely use them as a base for exploration and PVE/PVP
PI never been passive, and tho this change for sure are a huge help, its still not enougth of a change for me to botter getting into it agen. still too much micromanagement needed
What I like is that the level of mmicromanagement is up to you. If you want to be more engaged and make a bill or so a month, you can. If you want to set everything for 2 week cycles and make around 100mill a month, you can. The initial set-up is still a pain though!
Micromanagement? Hardly. Yes, the setup is annoying, but just resetting extractors on 18 planets is super easy, and takes seconds per planet. Maybe longer if you decide to fiddle with the head placement for better efficiency. I don't even bother these days, as 1.2 billion per month is good enough. With smaller volumes for materials, I can collect everything once or twice a week in one Epithal trip now. Are there more interesting, engaging and profitable ways to earn isk with your time? Of course. But is there better PASSIVE income? Not even close. For the amount of effort, there is nothing better in the game, and it forms a baseline for everything else.
@@RobertBreckenridge13 well, i have 42 planets spread out over 3 accounts and 7-8 toons. trying to keep up with it becomes really tidious and booring, and i just cant be bothered with it. to put it in perspective, my main inncome are from marked trading where i make 1-1.5 bill a day with barely any more work then it takes to keep the PI running. so i guess if PI good idea depends alot on people inncome from rest of the game and how they play it
@@thecomposerchanginggames5250 No it isn't viable to upkeep 1 account (plex) with PI only. There is NO WAY i can see you will make 5b a month just from PI
@@ZadakLeader 5 Bil? A few months back it was 2.6 Bil. 1 Plex is not 10 mil. I'm not sure 1 account can produce enough high enough PI to make that, but PI isn't a full-time job. Ratting or mining should be able to top-off what you need.
I agree with a couple of the other comments. If you get set up in WH or Null-sec you can make a serious dent in the plex grind, but probably not earn enough from PI alone. But it will make it significantly easier to achieve when combined with other activities
