Hello John, I have this bike, in Germany the distributor is Tinbot, but it’s the same. The controller is set 110A, I have the software and cable for programming these Lingbo controllers. I modified mine with an other controller and a better throttle, now it has 16.6kw and 230Nm torque (Dyno tested). It works fine since over 7.000 km and 1.5 year. Acceleration from 0-30 mph is 2.5 seconds and 4.8 seconds from 0-50 mph. Costs for these mods are 500€. Now it’s so fast than it looks like 😉. By the way I get more range with the new controller with 200A in comparison at the stock controller.

That's interesting. The factory said the motors from back then were only 8kw and the distributor here in the US confirmed it in prior emails. You must have a special motor. According to the factory it should've burned out by now. The new version they sell as 220nm. You say with 16.6kw you're getting 230nm and you have custom work you did. Did you rewire it too? The connectors and wires they use would cook under that amp draw. Must've gotten a new battery pack set up too.

@rikereith9500 2 года назад
@@e-powersport The wiring and the batteries are Stock. They connectors don’t get hot or melted. I think each battery can handle 80-100A. Motor temperature is 50-60 Celsius degrees. My Motor is the KL7250, rated for 5.000 watts. The motor of the SurRon light bee is rated for 3.000 watts and works with 10Kw easily. A QS 138 90H is rated with 4.000 watts and can handle 14Kw till 20Kw. So the motor of the Kollter should work with 15Kw good. I have the Dyno test as proof. I can send you a pic or PDF, if you don’t believe it.

@@rikereith9500 I prefer video as you can see. I and I'm sure many others would love to see what you've done and that the wiring can handle and allow for the draw indicated. The controller from the 2 year old one was only 80amp according to both the US distributor and the Kollter factory. Same as the 8kw motor specs. I think you're confused between the specs of the current and what you have there. Plus not sure what the point of mentioning another bike's motor is about. These can vary wildly based on build quality.
@e-powersport
@e-powersport 2 года назад
@@rikereith9500 And as the batteries collectively would only produce 200amps draw you're not running 16.6kw, but 14.8kw

How have you found the build quality of the VMX10? Do you have a tear down of one? My understanding from your website is that it is essentially a 2022 ES1-S Pro but with a single battery that is comparable to the double battery setup. How much diagraming etc have they given you as well? I don't mind working on bikes but am always a bit concerned about finding compatible parts and instructions.
@e-powersport
@e-powersport 2 года назад
Overall build quality wasn't the issue. We're getting them direct from the factory now. Which will help with the knowledge base issues we ran into with who we were working with before. I expect the quality to be similar or better and that we'll be able to help with knowledge exchange more. As these come in, we'll be doing similar dis-assembly videos on them as well. We're also looking at which other units they have available we'll be listing.

Hi John, hope all is well! I saw the Newbot Storm on your website and was just wondering if there are any discussions about the bike online anywhere? Reddit/FB/forums? I didn't find much information on them besides their website and three short teaser videos they posted. I guess I am just trying to get some context/background on them. Is there any little tidbits you can share on what impressed you about their company, or something that stuck out from what they said to you? I'm interested in a Newbot Storm S based on the specs, and I see that you will be disassembling it to check the internals before delivery. In short summary, I suppose I'm scraping for more information on them (how passionate they are about quality, not skipping corners, their experience/history, etc.).

I have the Kollter esx pro Banshee model and factory said could do 75-80 mph... I changed the front sprocket from 12tooth to 17tooth and now can get up to 60-65 mph. Steeper hills I can maintime speed at 40-50 mph. If it could get that 80mph and just slightly more miles on a charge, the motorcycle would be perfect! I get about 40-45 miles on a charge here in hilly, rural Pennsylvania.
@e-powersport
@e-powersport 2 года назад
That's an interesting story. How did you calibrate the speedometer after changing the gears? That was the biggest problem they had so they read faster or slower depending on what size gear you have on it. Also I'd like to see those speed tests especially of the banshee, I've had a couple people contact me and tell me that they couldn't get their banshees over 70 mph if they tried some of them couldn't even get them over 65
@kaleyeahitsaustin6026
@kaleyeahitsaustin6026 2 года назад
@@e-powersport originally my speedometer said I was going around 65-70 with the stock 12tooth sprocket. In reality I was probably going around 40mph. So it came stock with speedometer not matching. I got a 15tooth sprocket from the owner and that corrected the speed/speedometer for the most past untill about 45-50 mph. I then put on a 17tooth front sprocket and now the speedometer matches exactly. I use GPS on phone to verify speed. I also put Street tires on the bike and that helped a little bit as well. The owner has told me as of today he has the updated controller for the bikes but is waiting for a shipment of bikes to test it on first before he ships them out to customers.
@kaleyeahitsaustin6026
@kaleyeahitsaustin6026 2 года назад
@@e-powersport I agree with the others. The bike will only do about 60-65 mph. A little disappointing but still decent for a lot of roads, just no highways or at least for my comfort haha
@e-powersport
@e-powersport 2 года назад
@@kaleyeahitsaustin6026 yep as long as you know what you're buying it's good. Lots of mixed and mis-set expectations. Good to see they're working on fixing things for customers now. We'll see lots more needs to be done to those to hit those speeds, including rewiring and new battery packs. Not enough amp flow.
@e-powersport
@e-powersport 2 года назад
@@kaleyeahitsaustin6026 I'd want to see a video. The kilowatt output needed to get the weight and rider up to speed exceeds the motor capabilities. Even the factory said, "The motor will blow up.". The new ones are supposed to be equiped with a 20+kw capable motor. Last year's model is only 11kw.

Hi the versio e 2020 bike totally shut down in the rain. after a few minutes it turned on again. what problem can it be?
@e-powersport
@e-powersport Год назад
If it's only in the rain, when it gets wet, you most likely have an exposed wire. Almost all ebikes are "water proof", but a break in a wire or an exposed connector would do it

@@polomarco2573 cool, the ones here are 10kw, just depends on if you have 1 or 2 batteries connected. 1 battery lower power output, 2 batteries full power output. Otherwise the ES1 is the same as the ES1x. Which the X never got to the stated top speed, could barely get it to 60mph

I doubt the guy from Germany is being honest.If so,I challenge him to make a video of his tinbot mod,using his Dyno test as claimed.Shouldnt be hard for him if he has access to the stationary Dyno rack,showing the bike rating he claims to have done by reprogramming and changing controller.He either changed his motor,or rewound it,changed the Samsung batteries,and parts of wire harness.

@@e-powersport Thanks for the quick reply. I posted right after I got through the intro section which is why it was so quick. I had preordered the Sondors but got refunded due to the continuous lack of communication plus delays. BTW, they just increased the Metacycle curb weight from 200 pounds to 300! Just like their preordered ebikes. I am interested in a lightweight street-legal "standard commuter". Or maybe an electric equivalent to a maxiscooter? But it needs to be highway capable for at least short distances. The Metacycle would have been perfect, but is shaping up to be a disaster. It is fascinating to see the variety of electric motorcycles that is becoming available. Edit: Quality control from China manufacturing is always interesting. You get the quality control you pay for and can verify through third-party inspection. Go too cheap and you get things like hoverboards that explode (they were actually banned from our local universities after that started happening).
@e-powersport

@@Bigrignohio and that's why we act as a third party. So far, most of the companies have had no issues with providing appropriate test documents, diagrams and allowing us to do our QA and now the Disassembly vids. Like a lot of Sondors stuff, sounds like the Metacycle could use some third party verification. Big part of why I started E-powersport, I saw lots of paperwork promises with little IRL delivery and high prices. Not too hard for us to do better, we just have to do what's right. 👍
