One detail that I really love about the Lacey games series is how these "games" isn't like Bunnyfarm, where it's all shown to one person, but rather an incident involving several different cases of these occurrences. I love that fact because normally, when you see games to pull off strange shit like this, you often wonder if anyone else had this issue, or if it was just you.
Yeah definitely nice it isn't like an isolated event. These are just out in the open, and multiple people saw these happen. Way more grounded than, "well this one spooky thing only happened to me on Halloween of friday the 13th with a full moon, so you'll never get the chance to see it. ;-P"
Maybe she was forced into the cage as a young person, and even though it still hurts, it's all she knows. All Lacey knows is the pain from the cage, and it's still the only thing she knew as a child.
to the best of my reading and guessing can make out, the text at 25:44 says: "nightmares come and nighmares go i yearn for them again and again pull my hair and my nails off then pretend it was never real what happens through the night never did." edit: changed the second line upon looking at it again
oh, the voice sample during the thing under the bed segment in petshop is from cecelia condit's 'beneath the skin' short film! (she also made possibly in michigan if that's more familiar - it was popular for a while but i don't think everyone who watched it watched any of her other short films) the actual words said are 'but it never was real, it was just a bizarre story that somehow happened to my life. but it never was real. but i had this dream that was so real, i dreamed that it was me and not her that he killed two years ago(...)' which i think is definitely pretty fitting for a series with themes of unreality and processing trauma through dreams & art. honestly there's probably more parallels that could be drawn both between the isolated quote and the original sample source but i did think it was really neat to catch that reference(?) when i first watched the video too.
I got Minecraft when herobrine was at it's peak, I only had a surface level knowledge of herobrine, so I thought it was real. So my first week of Minecraft was shrouded in dread and fear of my surroundings while trying to play, until my little brother (yes, little bro) told me it was just a CreepyPasta. My little brother had a computer so he had better access to the internet than I did with my crappy phone.
I noticed that under the text box at 27:40 are the words "stop laughing." Personally i think it adds to the fact that her uncle either killed or gave their dog away (leaning towards kill) in an attempt to antagonise her further. From what we can see it seems like he saw lacey (or rosio) as a toy which, obviously left her with issues afterwards- But in that action he made her snap and kill him(?). Maybe setting him on fire or something based on the burnt body later on. I dunno, looking forward to seeing where this story goes. Keep up the good content, love these videos!
1) uncle was killed and he is used as Ingredient in the dinner 2 )he killed the dog , shown by the censor on the dog and the " took my angel away” line Dog is under the bed so uncle was probably burned , or not, if we cont his state In the second episode.
Hey man! Wham City Comedy was the group behind Clarydril and This House. Dina Kelberman made the website and does tons of other Web based art projects! Just thought youd wanna give credit to the entire group! Otherwise, an AMAZING video.
no fr, Wham City Comedy does amazing horror/comedy stuff with huge dedication. it's insane what they've done and I love their stuff, especially stuff like This House Has People in It, which Nightmare Masterclass did a fantastic breakdown of
Lacey's games seem to be about a girl addicted to the internet to cope with her abusive... uncle? And she may have killed him. (also accounting for the other games)
33:10 I think tou might of missed the rhe last few swconds feom the Lacey's pet shop. after the podcast ends and the screen goes dark, it takes a few second but there is maybe one second where you start to see someone's face with the final frame saying the word "hello". I think its to imply that Rocio is either still alive or someone related to them has access to the original FLA files and is trying to tell their story.
I didn't miss it but sort of chose to leave it out, as I always encourage the audience to venture further, and make their own theories about these things. I just try to compile some facts for them to build their own ideas off of. I agree with your theory though, It's kind of in my head cannon that rocio is somehow still alive even after setting herself on fire. And might have just made her case worse. But until we get further information, I like to leave things open. Thanks so much for the comment though, always appreciate when you guys point out things I didn't discuss!!
Doodad rocks, I really love it. It's just like perfectly simple, funny, and interesting. It makes up for it's lack of visual with everything else which just speak volumes to the series.
Doodad is surprisingly engaging. Silly reason but I think the art style for these "lost footage" series that are supposed to have hand-drawn/3D graphics benefit from an art style that fits the era they're imitating. Doodad doesn't really have one but it works for its benefit since stick figures were popular in the early-mid 00's. There are many ambitious projects like the Walten Files or Welcome Home that have great art but also very obviously "not real" because of it, like you immediately recognize the art is from a modern audience (Tumblr-Twitter era). Doodad and Lacey's games I think do a nice job of minding the popular styles of their time period. Also I don't know if it's just me but Claridryl is hard as hell to pronounce.
I like how all of the Lacey games are played by different people, Lacey's wardrobe I would assume to be a kid, then switched to the parent, Lacey's diner being a person going by the name charchar887, and the petshop obviously being grace playing it
The way Lacey is portrayed as an almost beaten down yet positive girl whose hopeful smile is slowly taken away is what really gets me. It's one thing having someone tortured or killed in brutal fashion, it's another seeing someone's glimmer of joy and hope being torn away from them.
Sweet Jesus, Milton's breakdown sends shivers down my spine. As an audio listener, it was so freaky to just hear my name again and again, even though I know it's not real
Seeing and old photo of dog that kinda looks unwell in a derelict house after hearing about the horrible things that happened to them was disturbing and heartbreaking. probably the most effective thing I've seen in an unfication story in a very long time. It just got under my skin so much. The previous lacy games didn't really do that, it just felt almost try hard, but with the new addition of comedy, it really contrasted with the horror well.
I do think that Grace is definitely not part of Lacey’s games, I think instead of a bootleg, the other creator, a person that Grace has said that they haven’t spoken since 2010, is making the games about their trauma. But that’s just a theory
Hey PatRatrick! If you ever have time, can you cover the digital horror “TeenyToys Exploration?” Its super underrated in my opinion and currently has 9 videos, and it’s meant to be based around old MMOs and virtual worlds. You don’t have to cover it if you don’t have time, it’s your choice!
@@patratrick Ty! Also, thank you for also mentioning Milton Math Games, I think I remember requesting it to you on your community tab during your horror poll (I think)
I almost immediately knew the music at 7:20 as the music that plays when Servant Grunt is searching for the player in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I think I recognized the music before I actually realized what I was hearing, it made me stop what I was doing and listen closely for a good minute. I've played Amnesia for years and I'm still terrified of it. You really got me with that, good job lol
@@modernmusic52 Anytime I hear Amnesia Music in anything I go nerd mode and have to point out what it is and which soundtrack it is 🤭 I love Amnesia The Dark Descent so much
Absolutely love this video! Just wanted to say, i really appreciate that you put warnings before things such as dark themes & loud noises. As someone who suffers from heart issues & has to watch horror videos VERY tenatively, actually putting those little heads ups in advance really does go a long way. Theres like a CRAZY amount of people in the video essay community who just do not care about things like that, so i really appreciate it :) can't wait to see more!
I just wanna I say I REALLY appreciate you putting warnings for like very loud noises, especially ones that are high pitched. I love to watch videos about these creepy horror things with headphones on to immerse myself, but sometimes the noises go past just unnerving to being extremely painful for me. I have super sensitive ears to begin with, but my autism makes higher pitches the most painful thing for me. Watching these high, those warnings really help me save my good vibes lmao For sure keep the videos up man, they’re great to watch Also, at 25:34 I can’t fully make out what it says at that loading screen but I got “*something* again and again pull out my hair and my nails *something* pretend I was never real what happened through the night never did” I think some of the words have Xs in them as censors so that makes it too hard to figure them out exactly, that or I just can’t tell anyways lmao
Ive needed more of you showing me new horror projects! And the milton games one I actually found by myself and its certainly well done, glad to see you covering it!
a few days ago a new Bugbo episode came out and had unregister hypercam 2, just like the one in Milton's, white box with black text saying the same thing in the top left hand corner. Kind of interesting in my opinion.
The guy who is voicing the stickmen in doodad sounds like the guy who made that giant spiders video were two stickmen try to kill a giant spider with a shotgun and then a giant pink spider shows up at the end of the video.
It is sad that flash is discontinued due to it being a security issue in web browsers. I miss flash games very much. I hope these games get ported elsewhere.
I love Digital horror it is one my favourite genre of horror . I’m proud of making my own digital which take a lot of inspiration from Lacey flash games, and cheez kids. This is why I love digital horror because how it tells lore in creative way

So judging by the definition of Digital Horror and what we know about the difference between the two, is Petscop now considered digital horror, or analog horror?
Good question! I think it fits better as a 'digital horror' category, but there's something about Petscop/Diminish/Illusion Lock that feels like a different category all together. To me, digital horror is like flash games and 2000's web stuff.the three examples I provided feel more like Let's Plays that become corrupted over time. Maybe there's a better category name? otherwise I'm good on calling them digital horror
Hey there, i know this video was 4 days ago but do you know about the video called user 666? Well i got some exciting news the creator of the user 666 video is now creating a horror game :D
You know I'm confused about how no one is talking about this ARG Channel which is filled with nothing but Lacey's games videos called do you remember Lacey's games
Finally someone told told me that because I was confused like it definitely looks pretty legit but there's always this scratching feeling of that it's not canon in the Cinematic Universe of Lacey's games and I'm glad someone told me but I'm still confused because a some stuff from it is actually matches up with the official videos from Ghost Tundra like that one video where they somehow predicted Grace and rocio's characters but yeah it definitely isn't Canon
