@@SlackArti I think the reason why is it’s because the counter simply makes it soras projectile and add a multiplier to it while it stays on the same path it would if not reflected, the reason it reflects lucarios like that is because the hitbox for the “projectile” must overlap with Lucario’s hurtbox, causing him to be hit

@@kermit7014 was thinking the exact same think, even if it counts as a projectile it doesnt actually move away from lucario that much

and that's why in KH3 they included unblockables attacks

It’s just a normal attack. So any normal counters work. Note: sephiroth’s won’t work cause Roy’s neutralB is too strong.

@@Pootis-hn3ky Oh, wasn't sure since from what I can remember I think other counters in the game can counter full charge Flare Blade. Can it? Haven't played in a while.

@@KoEnder flare blade isnt like KO punch, which is coded so it hits through counters and shields, meaning that yes, every counter in the game (except sephiroth's, because that one is weird).

@@KoEnder you can counter it, the problem is doing that, most of the time Roy/chrom players use it fully charged when you have a shield break, miss them or cancel/use them before just to secure the hit and evite the counter possibility

Which is funny because Charizard's Side B is considered a projectile to Sora's counter (Source: Messing about as Sora against an A.I Lv. 9 PKMN Trainer, hit the counter, and it didn't stagger him and just, immediately countered it and K.O'd it in the direction it was heading)

@@juhadexcelsior Nope, they retaliate and suffer end lag, Sora skips the first 22 frames of startup when hitting a projectile and doesn't reflect it, only DEflects it l, meaning it passes through him and treats it as his own, adds a 1.4x dmg multiplier For some reason the multiplier gets added to Charizard's Side B and gets yeeted in the direction he was charging at if he's at 70 because the game registers it as a projectile for Sora Test it yourself if you don't believe me, I could be very wrong entirely, but its interesting to think about

@@juhadexcelsior Not in the slightest. No other counter in the game completely negates the opponent's attack and tumbles them before hitting back.

@@juhadexcelsior There's pretty much two kinds of counters: Standard counters, like Marth, who will negate the damage of most moves and retaliate with a strike, the power of which is determined by the power of the move countered. Reflect-counters, like Palutena, which work the same way as regular counters with physical hits, but with projectiles they reflect them back to the opponent. Sora has a reflect-counter, but it's a little different. The reflecter is slightly worse, as instead of sending it back, Sora just changes the hitbox to belong to him, while keeping the old trajectory. So, projectiles effectively pass through him. But the counter is slightly buffed, as it stuns opponents before striking. This normally doesn't do much, but there are specific cases where Sora's works when a regular counter wouldn't. For example, Banjo's Side B "Wonderwing" normally makes him invincible, so if Marth countered it, he would strike Banjo and deal no damage. But if Sora counters, Banjo is knocked out of his Wonderwing animation, so Sora deals damage and knockback.

@@diegovaldez927 they have huge grab magnets so they can just up b far away. Still makes a super annoying 50/50 where sora can counter or try hit them normally depending on what they choose. Ideally with shotos I think you wanna airdodge because they have really far airdodge for some reason

Go try to reflect every attack in KH as a series with his guard, many attacks just decide no for seemingly no reason while similar ones work fine.

To be fair, the freezing component of his counter makes that counter more viable in most instances, so trading proper reflection for a stronger counter is acceptable.

The only way it could work like that and be balanced is if sora didn't counter at all. Like he holds it up and stuns the opponent but doesn't do the reprisal

Yep I knew from the start that if the hitbox was big enough, it could catch stuff like Lucina up b from the ledge, it's really good
