It's not for games. It's for businesses that need GPU acceleration but don't want to (i) pay a lot for the GPU and (ii) not fuss around with power requirements. It's a $170/station drop-in solution. Perfect for things like showing a 3D model to a client looking to remodel their kitchen.

⁠⁠ oh yeah, what's the power draw on that card? Compare it to the Nvidia… Do you have any idea what you're talking about? It's 175 watts compared to nvidias 70.... running the arc card you suggest requires over double the energy and cost to power... and then you'll have to pay to cool all that heat also.... The Nvidia is perfect for business. The card you suggest is garbage. you need to stop making videos cause you literally have no idea what you're talking about

I never considered that Arc cards might have a business niche, not really relevant to me but I like to consider things from multiple perspectives. Also I'm pretty sure if all you are doing is showing someone a 3D model of a kitchen this should have just been an OEM card. Who is building custom "Show customer bathroom model" PCs that are also super power conservative. That's like saying an engine is great for gas milage driving to the bank specifically, and trying to sell the engine by itself to people creating custom vehicles in garages, even if it's true who are you trying to sell this too? Bankers who are also gearheads?

nah u could just go with a 1650 cheaper and it got 75w if i remember well (if u see the 3050 6gb under 160 new or under 120 used just go for it cuz at 170 just get a new 400w psu and a used 1660ti they usually go for 120$ and even out performs the 8gb rtx 3050 )

As gross as this card sounds, you could actually put this into an optiplex system and run it with no power supply upgrade needed, due to the mother board suppling around 75 watts if i remember correctly. Having a card of this caliber is a lot better than you might think for a system like this since we're getting into lower performance territory. And the price isn't even that terrible for a brand new card. As for the low bus bandwidth, I think that might not be as much of a problem due to the slower pcie speeds of such a low teir motherboard. As another commentor recently mentioned, this would be good for businesses that just need the card to get by for productivity. There is less to worry about, and it'll work on even older systems that need it. Sounds great for smaller businesses and such.

this replaces the bus powered 1650 moving forward, its the Goat rite now, if ur pos oem works with a 1650 then get this card instead cause its close to a 6500XT in performance, its the GOAT, lets go people! 😒👍

Nvidia has been doing it since forever. This is just the same like they did with 1060 3GB and 6GB before. Back then the 3GB version also have less VRAM and less CUDA cores.

Yes, this is what people get if they complain too much. "A 4080 in 2022 for $900? Na, this is a different chip bla bla bla." At that point in time it was perfect. Nvidia should have had more courage to launch this anyway despite all the hate. I was looking forward to this card. This unlaunch was epic.

will this fit into Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF?

Yes. It will fit a 9020, but it will not fit the newer SFF cases. 30/50xx series have the graphics slot as the slot next to the PSU so single slot limitation.... That said, the 3050 LP is just about 1:1 a GTX t060 6gb performance and a 9020 with an I7 will have enough punch to run that combo

But it make sense to nvidia because they no longer making TU117 chip used in 1650. They need a new card that can work without power connector in the market to replace 1650.

The point of the card is for poor people who still use the 1650, just like those who used the 750 before them. Some are like, This card can't run any game at 4K 120 fps; this card isn't for that. it for just being about to play some newer games at low settings.
