If Fanta doesn’t want to sit or do independent play while you cook I recommend either sensory play or get her a stool that will allow her to help you cook. She’s so smart and wanting to be with you at all times so this may help. It’ll be a little frustrating at first because you have to clean after her but you both will enjoy it! You got this mama, there’s no prefect method to this but you are doing great.

Exactly, that’s what I experienced with my baby too. She was really clingy so as soon as she started to stand up, I got her a learning tower to watch me cook. Now she’s over one and helps me wash stuff on the sink 😅 Good luck! 🌞

The segment where you guys had dinner really had a girl tearing up lol. To see the level of involvement /interest in the often mundane but beautiful day to day, and to think one day Fanta will grow up to see how every new day with her was cherished and truly reflected over by her parents, my heart. Maybe it's because I grew up in a single parent household so seeing the tenderness and love in this blossoming family is the sweetest thing ❤

Greetings to you dearest lovenspired! Thank you for your courage in writing this much needed beautiful message. I felt compelled in my spirit to affirm everything that you have said. I wish that I could not only like it a thousand times, but pin it. And I'm a mother of 4. Many times, my kids played in their food, and I allowed it because it's so much fun for them😅. As long as they have eaten most of their food, it's not a problem to play 🤗. It's easy to clean up and cherish that little moment because before you know it, they're bigger, and these moments will just be a memory. Only once time has passed is when parents realize just how precious these little moments are💕💐.

I personally think it’s fine for children to touch their food. Yes it’s more clean up for the parent, but it’s a great way to incorporate sensory play of different textures and start a good relationship with different foods. Love your videos

Aisha...you are doing great. Keep trusting your instincts, your maternal intuition. I think giving her a spoon in both hands let's her chose what is best for her. Know this as well that when she cries to be held is her way of needing you close to her. Letting her cry when you are cooking will not hurt her. She will l earn to manage her anxiety being away from you when you are cooking. You are not a bad mom when Fanta cries and you have things to do. Mommi, you are doing a fantastic job with Fanta.

I know Fanta is walking now but have you tried a walker where she can move about with activities at her hands (on the actual walker.) or Possibly a jumping jack bracket which she could jump a bit while you’ll are in the kitchen. Does a play pen help? There comes a point when the child needs those challenging moments away from momma or daddy. If she’s a bit fussy let her get tired and establish baby boundaries for her to learn patience and trust in your enduring love. This is a needed discussion for parents to have for calmness.

It’s ok for her to pick up the food with her hands it will help her to learn to feed herself. People need to chill. You are a good mother so allow her to become more independent. You have another one to come along and this is why she is clinging on because she senses the baby . I believe she will be a good big sister. The bond you have with Fanta is so special. Never been a Mom myself, I only say Fanta is still exploring and learning. Sometime she is touching and learning the texture of foods. If she wants to eat with her fingers (she had them first before utensils) let her. She will soon adapt to her spoon. The most important thing she is eating, not kicking up a fuss and you also will have peace at meal time. I love how you have a schedule for Fanta; eating, bathing, and bed time. When your dear husband comes home, the two of you have an enjoyable time together. He is not coming home to a crying cranky baby and a stressed out wife after he has worked all day. It is very common for babies to hand feed themselves. It is totally normal and fine. As a mom and my daughter is 18 now, i just remember wanting the food to get IN 😂. Whether by her hand or by spoon. I was more worried that she ate enough than how she ate. Honestly. And don’t worry about letting her watch tv. The Backyardigans kept my kid so busy with singing and dancing. I may have cheated bc I had a swing. Later I got her a little slide that she could play on while I would cook etc. It’s all about what works for YOU the best.

I think what you're doing is perfectly fine. You have to customize your care based on your child. Absolutely let her use her hands and yes present her with the proper utensils. I promise you she will eventually begin to use utensils more than fingers. But remember, fingers are our original utensils. You and your husband are doing a beautiful job as parents. Comments and "advice" are fine to read but dont taje it to heart. Lol, I had triplets and they ALL had different personalities and learning curves. Believe me, you are doing wonderfully. You can try giving her pure’s too. Basically boil a bunch of veggies and some fruit and blend it together. I do a new batch every 3-4 days

Don't stress over Fanta's eating habits she will learn just give her an yourself time for her to learn don't force her to eat take it from this 65 yr old grandma. Enjoy this time with her it goes so fast. You are doing great and don't forget to give yourself some me time!👍

Aisha, you have a VERY happy baby. You are obviously doing everything RIGHT. Let her play with her food if she wants to. She has plenty of time to learn how to eat with utensils. Heck, I still eat with my hands as an adult!🤣🤣

HAPPY FATHER’s Day to Fanta’s Dad. She senses a baby on the way that’s the reason for the clinging. It’s. Ok to put her down n let her cry. That’s to make it easy on you as you prepare for #2. Let her cry. But don’t let her have her way. Kids learn how to manipulate as they grow to have their way. You love them n chastise them with that love. 💛💛
