Don't know if you noticed, the girls are throwing 225lbs over their heads...and the bros are power cleaning close to 400 pounds...when's the last time you did a power clean?....also, they do this consecutively, with cardio mixed in... so please......they're classified as the fittest on earth because they are the most well rounded athletes of all athletes.... I would love to see you do just 1 WOD....just 1. BTW, I was a power lifter before I joined crossfit, and there are plenty of people that run circles around me.

Because CrossFit, like so many others, thought they were taking a meaningful stand by refusing to recognize that Russia exists, due to the invasion of Ukraine. Spoiler: nobody fucking cared what CrossFit thought.

If you expect less from a person you get less but also you hobble a competitor's mental rational state which causes misunderstanding and a possible loss that otherwise would have been a win. Go in to win. This is the Games baby - not a box out in the ether somewhere.
My problem with CrossFit is that it is too geared toward strength. You can see this in the build of the competitors. The optimum build for a human should be somewhere between a skinny marathoner and a bulky weight-lifter. Sprinters generally have the best builds. Speed is the best balance between strength and endurance.
Many of these athletes are literally in the middle between a slender physique with slight bulk. None of these athletes are built like sumo wrestlers or with bodies geared towards world strongest men/ women. I realize that on TV they may look very jacked because their muscles are on fire but in real life many of these athletes carry slight/ slim muscular builds outside of "games season"
