This time I did a song to demonstrate the capabilites of this great effects box: Eventide Pitchfactor. ESP EII Mystique plugged into AMT B2 preamp, then into Eventide Pitchfactor.
Excellent video! More demo videos should be like this one. You showed the units musicality. So many demos are not made for players but rather toy collectors who want to make funny noises. You showed how this device fits into a musical situation. Thank you!
What an excellent video demoing this product! The best i've seen on here! Eventide should pay you for this! This is the sort of video guitarists want to see when looking for a pedal. It demonstrates the features beautifully, showing how the effects sound within the context of an actual tune! (Not people shredding numerous notes to show how good a guitarist they are!). Great video, 'Brutal Gain'. Really professional, and very informative!!
Thank you very much! Honestly my intention was to share how good this product is. I have no relation with Eventide, It is just that Pitchfactor is great.
+Micky Vega I was planning to sell my Pitchfactor as I didn't find any serious application for it. But after watching your video, I'll give it another shot. :) Thumbs up!
Eventide should pay you for this. You did the justice for this pedal and it deserves same attention as compared to ehx pog, hog etc. Thank you man. I'm sold
Mine didn't like rapid midi changes and failed on me. I have gone with out it for a while. I am finally sending it into Eventide to figure out what happened to mine. I love the Pitch Factor.
was just about to give up on this pedal due to really shit reviews by people who don't understand that to when trying sell something it needs to sounds good not just "I'll run through these really quickly and that will do, fuck it" but your review has changed that, very well done and will definitely consider getting this pedal. JCBigCat is right Eventide should pay you for this and sack all their shit representatives.
My biggest satisfaction is to know I helped someone. I am a big fan of this pedal, and guitar players could so much out of it!! I think Eventide does a great job, though. I guess sometimes It can be hard to run such a big company and make this kind of demos at the same time.
Much better than the Sweetwater demo. Have a question about diatonic pitch-shifting. I used to have an old Digitech harmonizer rack unit and you had to basically tune the unit to your guitar. The problem was that if you tuned a full half step down the unit wasn't able to go that far down. I was just wondering how it works with the PitchFactor. If you tune a half-step down, how does the pedal deal with that?
Daniel Middleman In my opinion that is one of the weak parts. Transposing sounds weird, and the attack of the notes is not very well preserved. The best option in that case is having a dedicated pedal like Digitech Drop, so you still have you Pitchfactor for harmonising or special effects.
Micky Vega there: I just bought one used for a pretty decent price. That - thing - is AWESOME, it's been a week and I already started building my own patches, I have used it live with absolutely no problem and yes, thanks again for this video. Are you ever gonna do a part 2?
a fantastic demo for Eventide Pitchfactor which is worth listening over and over as a song. Eventide should pay you and use it for their product demo, promotion..etc. The only improvement I would like to request is for the caption to appear a little bit longer on the screen.
And this guy works fine with Amp Overdrive? I'm really into this one but I only use amp overdrive and I'm afraid that it will sound awful/strange in the FX Loop.
Tanner Kline I can't remember the exact settings, but a good advice is to use very little wet signal. Sometimes with 15% or something like that is enough. And use a slight delay when using harmonies can add a more natural feel. Finally, a bit of reverb can do the rest.
+Bob I. Gomez Thank you very much! I felt there wasn't any demo internet which put this pedal in a musical context. That's where it shines in my opinion!
The secret is using pitchfactor AFTER distortion pedal. If you are using your amp's distortion, then you should plug your pitchfactor in amp effects loop. That way, you' ll get a nice, pleasant sound. Hope it helped!
+Brutal Gain I must say that doing this will make other algorithms sound a bit worse, but fortunately, Eventide has released a new update which can solve the problem, by letting you choose where in your effects chain pitchfactor is working. You can visit Eventide's website for more info.
The digitech footswitch is automatically recognised by Eventide Pitchfactor, which has 3 default functions for it. But you can edit that with a very easy to use "learn" function that Pitchfactor includes.
I have a question, and after hours of searching the internet, I dare ask you since you seem to be my best chance at an answer. Ok, so, here goes: can you, with this pedal switch from one saved preset, to another, to bypass, with only the push of one button each time ? Basically I have a song, in which I use a diatonic harmoniser. I start with the dry riff, then +3, then -3, then +3 again, then dry again. Could I do that with this pedal (even if I have to add an expression pedal, I don't really mind) ? I'm not sure whether I explained it successfully.
So, I believe you are trying to do this: Preset -(push one button)->Another preset -(push button)->Bypass If this is what you meant, yes, you can do that.
I mean, can you assign a specific preset to a switch. If not, I can work with bank up /down but it wouldn't be ideal. And if the pedal is in Bypass mode, do I need to push bypass again before I switch preset, or does pressing the preset button automatically makes it come back on. In any case thank you for your answer !
Yes, you can do both. You customize your presets as you desire, so you don't need to scroll to certain preset. And yes, you can go to any preset despite being in bypass mode. You don't need to activate it before doing that.
dear brutal thanks for posting cool demo, and nice playing, i have a pitch factor and I'm working my way through the sounds, i put my klon centuar through it and it nearly took of its a lot more powerful than i imagined.
@@BrutalGain I bought one because of your demo. I really needed a standard harmonizer for leads and harmonies over chorus' for fast picking because playing octives that fast would be super sloppy. Also required it to be midi controlled due to my rig. Besides, tweaking all the knobs on say a tc electronic brainwaves pedal live could be a real disaster. All the other features are just an added bonus. Also I cloned my earthquaker devices organizer I used for a song and the eventide is much cleaner tones and way quieter operation.
@@nuclearguitarfare4653 I think Pitchfactor is a very versatile pedal. Except for some kinds of modulation, reverbs and wah, many other common effects can be obtained with this unit. I am glad you were able to get the results you expected from it based on my demo.
