I know this is an older video but you’re absolutely right and good on you man. If I spend $100k or even $50k on a new truck you should be able to expect that thing to perform as such. Especially when you have your family and everything else in your life involved. It isn’t just a big purchase that looks nice but sits on a shelf or in a garage and collects dust, people depend on these vehicles for their daily lives and their businesses and livelihoods and they need to do better. I just want to add that I think we’re going to be seeing more and more of these issues with every vehicle and manufacturer out there (which has already begun to be the case as far as I can tell) just due to the rapid changes and demands in environmental regulations and technology “upgrades” that companies absolutely cannot perform proper multi-year runs and tests of equipment, when models and chips and technology including entire engines and drivetrains in a lot of cases are drastically and significantly or completely changed year after year there is no possible way to narrow issues down to a pinpoint between model years and sister vehicles. I am betting everything on that being the case for the next decade or more and so I plan on holding on to my and my wife’s vehicles for as long as humanly possible because there is no way with inflation and vehicle prices continuing to go up as they are that I am putting my finances and livelihood in the hands of companies that are quite simply regressing rather than progressing in terms of reliability and quality, all in the name of “making progress”. (Ironic). They are quite literally doing anything but making progress, much of it is government interference and mandates so not all the blame can be put on manufacturers at all, but regardless something needs to change because the state of vehicles these days are getting absolutely ridiculous in so many ways, whether it’s the cost or just the technology and lack of ability to do proper refining between models and years of vehicles, the quality and reliability is just not possible. Love both of our vehicles and all I recommend is staying away from anything that changes too rapidly, because with that there is no chance for refinement and real reliability progress, it’s all just complete luck whether they get something right or not.
Stealthpanda you said it perfectly. The government interference, the backwards slide in the name of “progress” and everything else. Aside from this Ram we just bought a telluride with a v6, excited because everything else is going 4cyl turbo. Hoping to have both of these cars for a VERY long time. There’s already been some government mandating effecting them, but way less than most current things.

The loan is still in place. They simply give some cash compensation as an apology for the headache. The factory warranty remains in place as well, you simply cannot make another lemon law claim if any more repairs are delayed significantly.

Yeah I got tuned up pretty good surfing on the back of that side by side haha! My brother in law is good! He loves Alaska and has seen some cool stuff! He’s in town right now and took me and my youngest kids flying here in Utah. Flew over antelope Island which is out in the great salt lake, and we saw probably 200 Bison, it was pretty cool!! I hope you have a great summer as well!

I am going through a lemon right now.. I am getting an offer for repurchase but I may owe some based on mileage.. I am wondering if the cash and keep they give is around half the value??
I can’t say what I got, but it was no where near half the value of the truck. But it was a fair compensation for the time and hassle of not having a truck for over two months. But, I felt my issue was fully fixed with the new pcm, so I was ok to keep the truck. If your issue isnt one that can be clearly fixed, and you think you’ll have recurring issues, the repurchase may be the right thing for you. Definitely give it some thought.
I’m not sure but I’d definitely recommend using a lawyer. Seeing what paperwork came through, it would be hard to DIY. It’s presented as an incoming lawsuit to fully lemon law the vehicle, then it’s settled outside of court for cash compensation.
I wish I could have been a little more detailed, but, I signed an NDA and getting sued isn’t worth the risk of making a little better video about it. 🤷♂️ but, sorry you didn’t find it useful.
