WHATS UP JOE , JOE THE MUSTANG YOU TUNED FOR ME 2 YEARS AGO RUNS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE BOOST UP AND THE CLOSE LOPE IS AT 1 OR 0 % AND THE AFR IS AT 11.50 , PERFECT TUNE JOE THANKS BROTHER, FREDRICK MD.
Slowly working my way through the courses. My Term X is still in the box but I want to soak up as much as possible before I start on the install next spring.
if people would just do research first before asking questions! I did my research for 3 years before attempting my turbo build, because I didn't want to waste a bunch of money (still wasted money... HAHA). I had redline in Bloomington, IL tune mine and 99.999% of what you (joe) talk about and show in your videos they did or showed me on my car. I always wondered about the dome pressure differences between similar turbo builds. I've seen some engines need 30 psi and above of dome to achieve 25psi of boost, but mine take less 25psi of dome to make 25psi of boost.. you said it best "some cars for no good reason take more dome pressure". keep up the good work!!
Can confirm: using the Holley GCF and the learn tune the car will work for a little while but eventually you will need to either tune it or get it tuned
Mr Joe Simpson. Hey it’s Bobby from when we got started. Omg dude. So funny hearing the getting started story about Jason leaving us with no warning. Brings back so many memories. How have you been. Congratulations on everything you’ve done.
This format is great. I think the subtle drops of your sense of humor makes you and your channel awesome to watch. This format reminds me of the Sloppy Ls1 tech videos. 👍
Fogured out the backfiring issue and did end uo dropping the truck off out here at ia speed & supply and got it runnen great but thanks for taking your time and answering my question 🤘🤘
I do like this format in regards to answering questions, much more entertaining . And I really wonder what the neighbors say when you are tuning an engine , HAA HA .
11:25 I look at his question from the point of view that the engine won't start right away (excessive cranking) or he won't be able to get it up to a reasonable RPM to properly break in a flat tappet camshaft. I had similar concerns early on, but after my first Sniper experience on the dyno, so long as it's installed properly and the tuning parameters are reasonably accurate, I'm no longer concerned and find the engine will fire within a couple of revolutions and effortlessly rev up to your target RPM. (With the Sniper)
Does spark plug wire length matter? Turbo LS, cheapo up forward headers, stock coil location on valve cover. Cut to length wires wrapped around the back of headers.
If weren't to have a default settings for terminator x o2 sensor failure what would you do ? I would think limit rpm s to 3,000 and retard timing by 3degrees . Thanks Joe !! 💯🇺🇸
I have a super sniper 650 with hyperspark ignition. SBC 350 Weiand 177 blower. My data logs look like an etch-a-sketch. Am i just looking at too many data points or is it probably RFI? The worst channels seem to be boost/afr/timing.
Sbe turbo ls1it will idle fine but the second I give it any throttle it dies instantly. s475, deka 80s, on e85, stock ls6 intake and throttle body. Any ideas?
You should only need to boost reference if your injectors are exposed to the boost. On the super sniper throttle body there is a plug you install in the bottom for map sensor and a port in the back to reference below the blower
@@kevin_nagle terminator x stealth 4150. Boost referenced now. Having a heck of a time getting idle happy. I feel like the ecu is chasing too much as the vacuum on deceleration and idle coming to a stop can’t figure itself out. Going way lean on slow first gear start. Once I get it not lean it is rich other times. Noob trying to tune from t3, but I probably should have learned on a NA engine.
I’ve bricked ever termi I’ve tried to update with a laptop and splitter cable. The sure fire, guaranteed method is to unplug everything from the CAN chain except the screen, pop the SD card into your laptop and swap all the card contents out with the new V3 firmware, plug into the car, and just use the handheld. Holleys instructions amounted to as much that the released around V2 time. You can also “unbrick” a bad update by using the same SD card method and loading old SD card software on it and doing the same process.
Just out of curiosity... do your neighbors complain about you making noise dynoing straight piped cars as much as you complain about them making noise? Seems hypocritical...
