I'm wondering if I could use the bag as a gym bag, can I put a basketball in the main compartment and and towel and clothes?

I got the CHZ 22 however I don’t like it wear very high at my back. Thinking to go for the synik 22, is the external dimension much smaller compare to the chz22?
@PackHacker2
@PackHacker2 4 года назад
Hey Michael - the dimensions for the EVERGOODS CHZ22 are 18 in x 8 in x 11 in and the dimensions for the Tom Bihn Synik 22 are 16 in x 11.4 in x 7.1 in. You can also check out all of the technical details on the product pages below. Great review & comparison. I really like the looks of these bags. Tom, for as much as you travel it surprises me that you don't carry a water bottle with you. Do you just buy plastic water bottles everywhere you go?
@PackHacker2

Hey Francisco! Typically, I use the Vapur "water bag": packhacker.com/travel-gear/vapur/eclipse-water-bottle/ - Tom

How do they feel with the Tom Bihn ballistic nylon? Also this bags is design to wear vert high at the torso, does the synik design like that too?
@mikechao9898

Also do the synik 30 much bigger than the 22?

Looking for my next EDC/Travel bag, what bag would you recommend between these two and the GR1? Thanks for the awesome video!

We get what you're saying, iantastic. The dimensions are pretty similar and there's only 2L in capacity too. We'll keep an eye out if there are any changes with these products and we'll keep you updated. Thanks for reaching out! 😊🙌 - Rebecca

@@PackHacker2 I think the difference is that the CPL24 has quite a bit of volume in the laptop compartment - probably more than 2L. That means the main compartment will be the same size or a bit smaller (and hold less stuff) than the "big bucket" of the CHZ22. I have both bags (I just got the CPL24 v2), and I think it's all about how the space is arranged. I prefer the CPL24 for work because I like having better access to my laptop. And since I commute (when we're not in a pandemic) via bus or light rail, I really don't like having anything in an open pocket on the outside of my bag. In the CPL24, I put my water bottle just inside the main compartment so I can grab it easily if I swing the bag around on my left shoulder. But I will *love* using the CHZ22L for day hikes. In that context, I definitely want my water bottles in those exterior pockets - and I love that they're stretchy so the bottles won't slide out easily on the trail.

Is it me or is the chz22 look just as big as the cpl24?
@riesemma
@riesemma 4 года назад
Regarding CPL24~ No water bottle pockets and lint magnet hmmm. But dedicated liter independent vertical opening accessible laptop sleeve for easy access (hooray for getting through tsa with a full bag!) and clamshell design for main compartment! Is there a sleeve to thread through the handle of a roller carryon on the CPL 24? Wish the CPL 24 was smaller (cuz I am a 5 ft 2 inch small Asian woman)...
@PackHacker2
@PackHacker2 4 года назад
Hey riesemma - the EVERGOODS CPL24 does not have a pass-through sleeve, but you can check out all of the features in our full review here packhacker.com/travel-gear/evergoods/civic-panel-loader-24-cpl-24/ - Rebecca

That's true for some people, I'm sure. I just got the CPL24 v.2 and I love it. (I shop very carefully for bags, though, and I tend to wear the same bag for years. My Tom Bihn S19 lasted me 8 years of heavy use. I never carried anything else unless I was traveling.)

Just got mine and love it. There’s nothing wrong with the sternum strap. Does what it is supposed to do. No point guessing if it might come undone if it hasn’t in practice.

I actually think the chz is too big. I'd like a slim 10l or 15l version.

Seeing as there is no mesh on the back panel, will the durable material the bag is made of cause my wool jacket to pill or otherwise cause damage to dress shirts and non-outdoors normal office clothing? (is the material texture neutral or will it cause pilling on cashmere and wool?)
@PackHacker2
@PackHacker2 4 года назад
Hey Hyewon - so far we haven't had any issues with these packs pilling our clothing, but your mileage may vary. We recommend checking out the full reviews of the EVERGOODS CPL24 packhacker.com/travel-gear/evergoods/civic-panel-loader-24-cpl-24/ and CHZ22 packhacker.com/travel-gear/evergoods/civic-half-zip-22l-chz22/ for more info. 😊👍 - Rebecca
