That's the Floor Effect. Every duet she sings, she takes it to another level. It is never just 1+1=2. She is able to take the right part out of her musical toolbox to make it a magical connection with her partner.
As previously stated Floor's husband, Hannes Van Dahl is a former drummer with Evergrey. Band leader Tom Englund is a good friend of both hence Floor's participation on two tracks from the album, The Storm Within. I believe our Valkyre Goddess was a couple of month's pregnant when this video was filmed. Evergrey are a superb band, somewhat underatted, Tom Englund is a wonderful singer, guitarist and lyricist. Great review as always, stay safe both.
you all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Terrell Layne Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
floor could blast every duetpartner from the stage with no effort. but she never does, on the contrary: she is capable to adapt her voice everytime so masterful and perfect to her partner. song and band are great. I liked the solos especially.
Thanks AngelD ! Synth chords at the start, the bridge and in the chorus have a Falling In Reverse vibe (I'm not saying it's the same)... Love this album!
Definitely check out more Evergrey! I strongly recommend "All I Have" as it is both a beautiful piece of music as well as a really well done video. It's also much closer to their truer, darker tone and feel. Tom is an amazing singer and musician, in fact they all are very talented. I've met them on several occasions now, great guys! While I definitely like "In Orbit" and Floor Jansen, I feel like it's one of their weaker songs overall, and since most people seem to start here with Evergrey, I don't think it entices enough people to dig deeper into their awesome catalogue of music. As was mentioned by a few other commenters, Floor also did backing for "Disconnect" off the same album, and it's an incredibly beautiful and progressive song. I can also recommend: - Weightless (From "The Atlantic") - Distance (From "The Storm Within") - Black Undertow (From "Hymns for the Broken")
If you see all the awesomeness Floor has to offer, from her work with After Forever and ReVamp, her collaborations with Ayreon, Soilwork and Evergrey (and probably others I just forgot to mention yet), with her singing old Nightwish songs and even with her performances on Beste Zangers, I have no clue how one can not be at least slightly dissapointed with the way Tuomas used her voice on EFMB and H:II:N. He has that incredible instrument in his arsenal and then writes the two worst Nightwish albums in a row, at least as far as vocals are concerned?
unrelated, but remember the mike mills( TOEHIDER) guy from Ayreon's project, the 10101010101 guy, Try the song Deathless by Ostura, he is in the entire album call "The Room"
@@jzundert There's nothing to be glad about, those who watch this for Floor will forget about Evergrey in span of minutes cuz this song is just medicore.
I caught this because I like Wolf Hunterz. The fact that Floor is in it was another reason for watching. Glad I did as I now know Evergrey and like them. We all find new bands for one reason or another.
