I totally understand this song and it’s really sad that we live in such a cruel world. When my son was about three years old, we were coming down the escalator in 42nd Street Station. There was a homeless man lying down at the bottom of the escalator against the wall. My son held out both of his little hands and said, “Mom! help him”! I didn’t know what to do or say to him. Basically our society is just that pitiful! Just listen to the young! Their hearts are pure and unstained by this world and it’s blind eyes 👀
The solo at the end played by Kenny Withrow is one of the best ever. I've listened to so many live versions of this song on the internet, but I was lucky enough to be there live, back in 2004. Goosebumps!
this is such a powerful song. I think we all need to remember to have compasion for one another. In light of current events...we need to pull together.

Everlast deserves way more respect. WAY MORE. I'm not even the biggest fan, but it just seems plain as day he's been shrugged off by white people, likely thanks to his hip-hop influence and background, and has been similarly shrugged off by the black community (let's be honest: this side of Eminem, "white guy rap" isn't exactly a popular genre). All the while, this guy has stood the test of time. He's a legit artist. It's plain as day.
My best friend and I used to listen to this song before school 12 years ago. He passed away last year. This brought back a lot of memories. Especially this version. I was glad to turn him onto everlast.
i havent been able to identify with the problems everyday people face in these specific lyrics but this song speaks volumes about my life with bi polar. i have never truly felt that my family or anyone else in my life that 1 person could actually put themselves in my shoes and this song means a great deal to me

Such a great song, good live performance recording. This is just the way the guy sounds. I think he has a great voice. And the message he spreads is an eye opener.
This song is so powerful. I speaks of things that most people want to bury and not think about. These things happen everyday & should not be ignored. I am so blessed for what I have and that is great, but there needs to be some awareness of what happens every day.

Back in the day, I remember hearing the evolution of Everlast for the first time. As a casual rap fan, but a huge rock, alternative and grunge fan, I was blown away by his talent. This transformation was exactly what I wanted to hear and I’ve been a super fan ever since. Some of the great music ever written.
What can I say this is the way it still is today 18yrs later….Man hasn’t progressed much at all….This song should feel like a red hot poker into your stomach….There’s only one race the human race….Love your brother’s and sisters….Just one kind gesture a day does change the attitude….But for the Grace of God there go I

heart and soul! originality, passion, lyrics! example- Phil Anselmo has a great singing voice but his most famous songs with Pantera he is screaming. it was his passion and creative lyrics that made them great. Ill Bill may be just a rapper but his lyrics are creative and original
