Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show. July 09, 1960. This is a re-post by request. Although the low audio issue has been corrected, this transfer still has some audio issues at the very end. It sounds like it was during the transfer.
The background music through my childhood and early teens. How can anyone not love these guys. They were brothers born to Play and sing together. Their voices were naturally perfect together.
So sad to learn of Don s passing. I was privileged to meet Phil and Don after their concert at the Spektrum Oslo Norway on 24 July 2004 when they appeared with Simon and Garfunkel in concert. I had the greatest pleasure having seen them previously at the Royal Albert Hall London on September 23 1983. I had followed their music closely since my early days at Grammar School in England from 1957. Together with the Byrds and the Moody Blues they were my all time favourites and they will be sadly missed but their music lives on. A brilliant duo!
Embarrassingly, I still have a VCR. I have all the latest technology as well, but kept my VCR. Glad i did as i have that Albert Hall concert on tape. I think it has run on PBS here in states.
Love music style forever the every brothes, the Beatles, Gene Vincent, Eddie chorcan, Buddy Holly, Richite Valens, Ricky Nelson, little Richard, Wanda Jackson.
I am searching for and listening to all my mum's favourite songs online. I am crying as I listen to each of them. Mum RIP, I love and miss you so much. She knew lyrics of all these songs
I don't know, man, I came here because I just heard the Linda Ronstadt version, and harmonies on that are just killer, especially there at the end, and I was disappointed that these weren't nearly as good.
My favourite duet ever !!!!! You just can't beat these two. And they sing songs everyone can relate to. Love love love these brothers. A gift from God.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I sure do miss the 70s, 80s & 90s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
Absolutley amazing singers.Phil & Dons unique harmonies make my heart melt. I was born in the 70s and nothing in my generation has a patch on the everlys.I could listen to their voices and songs all day and it beats the rubbish that is played on the radio x tv today.I love this video, i didnt realize just how handsome they both were! I thank my mum for playing their music when i was young. Now i play it so my children can appreciate it and hopefully they will remember it as i have. Amazing video!
WOW - it's hard to believe that these two guys experienced as much great music & heartache at the same time!! I remember well when "Wake Up Little Susie" came out!!! Greatest duo ever!!! 2021

Last night I thought of the Everly Brothers for no particular reason, and wondered about Don. Today I learned of his passing. I was in my mid-teens when they arrived on the world stage, and I can testify to the great and wonderful affect they had on the music we still hear today.
I grew up listening to these two guys and wished they were my brothers now they are both gone and i miss both of them but im glad I have their music to remember my youth and their wonderful great talent. RIP Don and Phil
Great writers and performers! Even while the Motown Sound was popular in the 60's, I still had a greatlove and appreciation for the Everly Brothers. May Phil Everly R.I.P. Thank you for your talent.
Can't express my feelings, hearing the saddest news in this brandnew year. We will cherish our warmest memories and enjoy their music right from heaven. Phil Everly we love you so mucht. May you rest in peace.
I loved their music, whether as the brothers or as solo artists, from the early 60s until they stopped recording. No other singers could create such emotions. They really “lived” their songs. They are irreplaceable.
I share your loss, i feel your grief... it's all over, didn't even cry,I just stopped living when you said goodbye... lyrics by Don Everly.. it's all over..sung by the greatest duet harmonies of all time! God bless the Everly Brothers.
You just turned 66 and I'm about to turn 67 in July. We agree, our generation's music is forever. This new music can't compete. I will never stop listening to or loving our music. It has a message.
The Everly Brothers were simply brilliant. Their harmony was magical! I thank God that as a young man I was able to listen to their great records which all climbed the charts!
The beatles were not the best band . They cause all girls to dance round there hand bags doing disco It made the boys look like idiots it took me months to accept disco .you can not beat bopping ( jive ) When kids see videos the wish they could be back in the 50 -60 before the beatles 63
" is a classic popular song written by Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers, who had a US top-ten hit with it in 1960. Linda Ronstadt covered the song in 1975, and her version was an even bigger hit in the US, peaking at No. 2.
The everly brothers and brenda lee introduced me to country music they sang their hearts out and made me look for and find people like willie Nelson george. Jones and dolly partpn
R.I.P. dear Phillip ! You may have lost this battle against the COPD, but you will have your place in heaven for sure with your beautiful ( second ) voice. You was also such a nice guy.... We will not forget you here but we will miss your voice sure although we do have all your wonderful songs here together with Don and your beautiful close harmony.... My deep condolences to your family and sons and of course also to your brother Don..... We envy the heaven now......
They're Brothers. They understand each other. This is why their harmonies are so peachy. I hope you're well in these difficult times and stay as safe as you can be.
I’m 30 years old and I’m listening the brothers with my mum. She loves Phil and I loves Don. 😉 They are truly together once again. ❤️ I’m from Germany!
When Will I Be Loved? If this video, song, lyrics, music dont get your adrenaline and jiuces flowin , then nothin will! God bless The Everly Bro's! Heaven's a better place having you!
I want to relive my life. How about I know what I know now and start over? Anybody else feel that way? Seems like I could have done a better job of it with some foreknowledge.
I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
Watched 'Pretty In Pink' the other night. Annie Potts character says something so profound that, of course, I didn't catch when I was younger. She says, "Oh, why can't we start off old & grow younger?" Monumental..
I was 7 months in my mama’s belly when this particular Band Stand was made. I’m 62 today. Just saw the Everly Brothers a few months ago. Amazing. Where did all the time go?
If ppl says bad things about these two, they have to go threw me and the rest of their fans that loves them and respect them. Much love and respect to these guys. Love u Don and Phil.🤗😗
Same for me my friend, their music helped me grow up through teenage years, even though I was part of the generation after they first had the hits, to me their music is timeless! And no duet can match Don and Phil Everly. As a group the beach boys were amazing, but just the two Voices of Don and Phil will always be top of the pile to me for those amazing harmonies that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end!
I've spent over 50 years making music from the late 50's and throughout the 60's my Life! The music is always there, it's timeless unlike most of today's ear ache claiming to be music? Still I agree to your sentiment of wishing i was around 1st time round to have savoured the atmosphere of hearing all those amazing tunes 1st time round.
One of the Epitome of Pioneer Great Rock and Roll Groups! Outstanding Harmonizing! Great Lyrics are simple and Sweet1 See you on the Other side Phil! Rest in Peace and God Bless you for your Inspiration and Memories!

RIP Don! Thanks for gracing us all with your talent! I thought these guys have looooonnnng passed, had no idea they were way younger than I imagined as a kid!
Since hearing the sad news this morning of Phil's passing, I've been trying to play everything Everly on YT. And I've been crying all day. They were my first "favorite artist" and always my favorite duo. As many have said, they taught a generation how to sing harmony. Glad that Phil lived to see the unique tribute of an entire album of theirs (1958 folk collection "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us") being covered, cleverly named "Foreverly" by Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones. Phil was pleased with it. Now Phil is harmonizing in heaven with Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Sam Cook, Otis Redding and so many others we've lost. Prayers to the family.
