"His face exploded" is about the only way to describe what happened to Joey Mercury. Including all sorts of death matches, that's legit one of the most horrendous and graphic injuries ever. He broke his entire face and somehow didn't completely blackout from the pain. Even your average tough guy wouldn't keep working after that. People focus more on the injury itself than on how tough Mercury has to be to have done anything but collapsed.

I feel like WM 22 is pretty underrated. It was my first WrestleMania, and I think it’s up there in terms of best WM. Not Top 5. Maybe 10 or 15.

I live an hour and 40 minutes from Toronto and I’m still upset that I didn’t get to go to unforgiven as a kid whatever nxt takeover Toronto last year made up for it

December 2006 was the first time I watch Raw, Smackdown, ECW, and started to fully watch WWE. I was 8 when starting watching it. Good times.

I remember buying Unforgiven 06 on dvd. Phenomenal card and it’s worthy of being #1 that year.

2006 for me will always be the year of London and Kendrick. They made me fall in over with wrestling all over again.

i feel like the problem cena had with going to raw was that he was going to the big leagues facing off with such talented and well known superstars but fans were just sick on how cena defeated them with his so called "5 moves of doom" all the time, i think he was just not ready to be on raw and should have stayed in smackdown for a bit to get better

The very hostile crowd in New York throwing Cena's shirt back at him repeatedly is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in wrestling. His face when he finally decides screw it is so good.

This year was definitely a highlight for London and Kendrick with their tag title reign. Consistently good matches on PPVs and having an incredible ladder match to cap off their year. Really was hoping for this to launch them off into bigger things. Regardless, they had a damn good run as champions.

I remember reading the Armageddon ppv results the next day and being so excited when I saw that they changed the generic tag title match to a 4 way ladder match also involving the Hardy Boys. It was like 3 surprises in one match.

Angle vs Taker at NWO 06 was terrific!

Wrestlemania 22 is the most underrated Wrestlemania ever. Definitely a top 10 Mania and i'd argue top 5.

For someone who wasn’t really getting “pushed”, Finlay sure did get a lot of top card matches this year. He just kind of ended up in them.

One of the Best wrestling times in WWE history. Cena and Edge started their entertaining and fun rivalry since Edge finally becoming WWE Champion by cashing in Money in the Bank on John Cena at New year's revolution, Booker T becoming *KING BOOKER!* Jeff hardy returning, The emerged Rated RKO, Rey Mysterio getting a push, WrestleMania 22, ECW and Saturday Night's Main event were brought back, McMahons were all over RAW, and DX finally reunited since 2002, etc.

Ok everyone knew that December to Dismember was the worst

My first experience of ECW was WWE Version of ECW, and yes I’m that young.

While I started watching wwe in summer of 2005 I only saw one wwe ppv in 2005 and that was Armageddon I didn’t know how to watch wwe ppv’s at the time and I only watched some wwe dvds and didn’t start watching raw and smackdown fully until Eddie Guerrero passed away so technically this was the year I started was the year I started I know everyone hates this year but I actually like it Sure not ever ppv was a hit but there’s some that I was actually enjoyed like No way out Wrestlemania 22 Backlash Judgement day Ecw one night stand Unforgiven No mercy And Armageddon And there were some things I enjoyed in this year like Rey Mysterio as the world heavyweight champion ( yes I enjoyed it Rey Mysterio as world champion it had issues but I’ll take it over jinder mahal being wwe champion or the great khali as the world heavyweight champion) DX reuniting John cena and edges rivalry And Kurt angle shockingly entering the battle royal to win the world heavyweight championship that Batista relinquished due to injury leading to one of my favourite matches of all time Kurt angle vs the undertaker at no way out

I actually have nostalgia for December to Dismember, because I bought December to December on DVD when I was a kid.

I think Armageddon was a great show Top 3 of that year however I might be bias as it was actually the first wwe ppv I had ever seen so it holds a special place in my heart

This is the year I got back in to WWE after maybe 10 years away. I didn't watch a lot though and I don't think I saw any of the years PPVs, so I'm surprised by a lot of the names in here.

This year was the beginning of the end for Benoit because Eddie was no longer with us and he was in the slumps
