Inserting other characters means it is no longer Batman vs. Superman or a fair comparison of both characters giving their all. If you bring Jackie Chan and Chuck Norris to my house and the three of you beat me down, it would not quite be fair for your fans to boast that you can beat me in a fight, would it? That has yet to be proven. Q: "Well, I still think it's fair. Can you change the rules to allow outside help?" A: If it's all the same to you, I don't think I want to make a new video with such a minor alteration. Some of my subscribers might find it annoying. But I can show you what the score would look like right here! -Batman wins with outside help: The Dark Knight Returns [.5] The Dark Knight Strikes Again [1] World's Finest: Clash of the Cape and Cowl [.5] Batman: End Game [.333...] Injustice: Gods Among Us [1] -Superman wins with outside help: Superman: Red Son [1] Superman/Batman: Super-Bat [1] -Adjusted score for allowing outside help: Batman: 5 [+.5 +.5 +.333...] Superman: 16 Q: "What do the .5 and .333... mean?" A: That means during those matches more than one rule was violated. So, in order to count it as a win, you will have to strip away more of the rules I implemented. Q: "Why did Superman win Red Son when you allowed outside help?" A: Because while Batman got help from Lex Luthor in that fight, Superman got help from Wonder Woman and ultimately defeated Batman. You cannot just count Batman's outside help as fair and not count Superman's outside help. Q: "Why does no one get a point if the losing party is not in his right mind? What about the winning party?" A: If the losing character is not in his right mind, the fight is thrown out because you can reasonably argue that he would have performed better if he were thinking straight or capable of strategizing. However, if the winning character is not in his right mind, the fight counts toward his victory because defeating your opponent while you are not even thinking straight is the equivalent of winning with a handicap. Q: "Well, I disagree. Can we throw that rule out?" A: Sure. Here are the altered results: -Batman wins disregarding mind control: Superman: The Trust [1] Batman: End Game [.333...] -Superman wins disregarding mind control: Superman/Batman: Smoke and Mirrors [1] Superman/Batman: Enemies Among Us [1] Justice [1] Wolrd's Finest: The Court of No Hope! [1] Batman: The Dark Knight: Handful of Dust [1] Justice League: The Amazo Virus [1] -Adjusted score for disregarding mind control: Batman: 4 [+.333...] Superman: 20 Q: "What about the sparing rule? Why is that here?" A: Fights in which the winning character is spared are thrown out for practical reasons. If the losing character had the winning character on the ropes and chose not to defeat him for some reason, it is hard to argue that the winning character "won" at all. Some people call it Plot Induced Stupidity- points in which one character should have won and could have won, but the plot required the other character win or the writer simply wanted the other character to win. These fights are not counted simply because it would reflect unfair numbers in the final score. Let's say you and I fought three times. I am significantly stronger than you and kicked your butt on all three occasions. It was an extremely one-sided fight. But in the first and second fight I chose not to knock you unconscious because I wasn't trying and didn't want to fight you to begin with. You responded by waiting for me to turn around and leave before hitting me in the back of the head with a metal chair. If we counted _that_ as a win, the score would read 2 for you and 1 for me, but the truth is that I was more than capable of winning all 3. What right would your fans have to say you can beat me 2/3s of the time? Q: "Fair enough, but I still don't think we need that rule. What would it look like if we disregarded sparing?" A: Like this! Batman wins disregarding sparing: -The Dark Knight Returns [.5] -World's Finest: Clash of the Cape and Cowl [.5] -Batman: End Game [.333...] -Batman/Superman: Arena [1] Superman wins disregarding sparing: -Batman/Superman: Cross World [1] -Adjusted score for disregarding sparing: Batman: 4 [+.5 +.5 +.333...] Superman: 15 Q: "What if we toss out all three of those rules?" A: It looks like this. Batman: 10 Superman: 23 Q: "What about the remaining fights?" A: All other fights are, in my own opinion, pretty undeniably inconclusive. They include things like one character losing on purpose, the fight being interrupted before anyone has the upper hand, Batman turning into a literal bat [World's Finest: Curse of Krypton]. This is the absolute most I am willing to budge. If you want to recatagorize any other fights, you'll have to do it on your own. Sorry. Q: "Will you be doing more videos like these?" A: I don't know. Maybe. People have been pretty harsh on this one, and I'm not a big fan of VS discussions to begin with. As a Bat fan, it really hurts to admit that Batman is always on the losing side. Let's just be really frank here, one of the reason Bats was able to take down Superman was because Bats knows how to take advantage of Superman holding back. If Superman goes all out all the time, Bats wouldn't even be able to hold him for more than a second... All of these were even accurately portrayed in the BvS' movie itself. For Superman, he's only weak against a stone, for Batman, he is full of weakness...

Take a shot every time Superman is mind-controlled and Batman is given super powers.

I'm not surprised to see that Superman won the majority of their fights (it only makes sense). That being said, while Superman is the clear winner here, it's still pretty impressive that Batman managed to defeat a god-like being three times.

To be blunt, I'm not the biggest fan of VS discussions because of how heated they can get. It's part of the reason I don't do this kind of thing very often. That being said, I would like to kindly remind all of you viewers to remain civil in the comment section. Turn the other cheek, agree to disagree, etc. Remember to read the rules I used to judge each fight (available in the description), and I will try to update with fights I missed and FAQs regarding the scoring system as frequently as I can. I've gotten a few questions regarding mind control and the part it plays in scoring, so here are the basics: If the _losing_ character was under mind control, the fight is thrown out because you can reasonably argue that the character would have performed better in his right mind. *Example:* "Batman was possessed by Kryptonite Man in _Superman/Batman: Smoke and Mirrors._ Superman would have had a more difficult time beating Batman in this comic if he were using his famous strategic mind." However, if the _winning_ character was under mind control, the fight counts toward their win because defeating your opponent while you are not even thinking right is the equivalent of winning with a handicap. *Example:* "Superman nearly killed Batman in _Batman: Hush,_ despite the fact that he was barely capable of strategizing at all, made limited use of his powers, and was fighting the mind control throughout the entire fight." You will find that this rule stays true throughout every encounter listed in the video. _Amazo Virus-_ Batman loses, but it's not counted because he is under the virus' control. _Sacrifice-_ Superman wins, and it's counted because he might have thought he was fighting Doomsday, but Batman still could not beat him. _Handful of Dust-_ Batman loses, but it's not counted because Scarecrow's fear toxin has a history of making people behave erratically. _End Game-_ Superman loses, but it's not counted because he was under the effects of Joker toxin and not in his right mind. Etc.

People like to think of kryptonite as some 'instant win,' but it's radiation poisoning--humans don't die immediately from radiation poisoning, so why should Superman?

I want superman to just use his heat vision n start heating batman's armor. Hahaha that would be funny seeing Bruce Wayne trying to get out of it.

Thank you so much for making this video. This is one of my most passionate topics/arguments that I tend to debate. And it's gotten to the point that I can't even bring in "canon/non-canon" stipulations anymore without being called biased or unfair. So I wanted to gauge every fight for the pure logistics of it. Great research and conversation. I'm glad I came across it. Liked, favorited, subscribed.

I'm not sure why, but I always get a little weepy-eyed when you talk about Superman and Batman being best friends, and how neither of them wins in a fight. It's the kind of statement that forces you to take a step back from the obsessive fan-boying over "Batman Vs Superman" and realize that the best part of their relationship isn't how two vastly different beings can match each other in combat, but rather how two vastly different beings can come to terms with and befriend one another, collaborating on a greater scale than either of them can measure up to on their own, for the purpose of a greater good either of them can scarcely imagine. That is the true purpose of the Justice League.

The question is not "who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman." The real question is "Could Batman beat Superman?" The answer is yes he clearly can. But out of 10 fights I give it to Superman nine of those times. It's just not a close fight. People only like the idea because it's a POSSIBLITY for Batman to win. Not because he would actually win in most scenarios. It's just that since Batman's human it's a tantalizing concept for a human to beat a demigod. So people latch onto it

All of my life I've said that Superman is clearly superior then batman. & everyone is alway saying batman would win. The fights are almost always unfair towards superman. Out of nowhere he suddenly doesn't have all of his abilities skills or powers with no explanation other than writers simply choose for it to be that way. If I made a comic/film of Batman V. Superman it wouldn't ignore Superman's capabilities & Batman would have no chance

They always tell you that Superman can think faster than the speed of light, just like he can fly at the speed of light.. Well Batman is only peak human.. So how can any human possibly contend with that?

This is the honest truth, neither of them really wins in a fight where both of them are of sound mind and not having their morals and ideals corrupt. Superman is never going to go all out on batman because he's his best friend and is human. Batman can have as much prep time as he wants and can take advantage of superman's good nature but even he knows that he can't beat someone with that much power. So neither of them really have an interest in fighting each other. Pretty much every single fight they've ever been in involves some outside force controlling one of them or making them fight. This is pretty much what's going to happen in batman v superman, except both will realize that they're both on the same side and will have to team up to take down a bigger threat and come to respect each other.

Its really obvious that Superman wins because he's freaking *Superman*. Batman might be one of the best strategic fighters in comics but he's still only human. Bruce has a fleshy & fragile body just like anyone else and no amount of prep can change this fact, he can only hope that superhuman opponents allow him to succeed.

I'm not a fun of any of those heroes but as i understand superman can move with the speed of light right? if so then tell me how any normal human can beat that? with any "toy"? Speed of light is faster then your neuron brains, do u get what i mean? if someone can move that fast, he must be able to think AND REACT as fast as well, witch mean even if any of his opponent is not that fast, no weapon is able to help him (before your finger move the "trigger" supermen already knock u out cold) Ps if superman can't move that fast (i'm not sure) then u can dismiss above. This is the same thing as trying to compare Batman to Goku. I use that example because it's a popular video here in Brazil that generated tons of discussion since Batman actually won according to the guy who made the video, but later he clarified that Batman would win in the best possible situation for him. It's like all those realities Dr Strange saw in Infinity War. Of the millions of possibilities, only in one of them would Batman be able to defeat Goku or Superman, and in the end it would come down to luck or exploiting a specific situation.

Of course superman wins every time even though my two favorite heroes of all time is a tie between batman and Goku. DC and the guys over at deathbattle already explained it, superman is a god and not supposed to be related to DC has said on many occasions that superman is not meant to lose and will always win no matter the situation is so he should never be in any VS matches because of his description it's just not fair. this is why a lot of people hate superman.

My favorite "fight" between the two was in the animated movie. Batman gets angry and takes a swing at Superman, Superman appears behind him and warns Batman throws a punch at him that he'll let Bruce break his hand. I know Batman is supposed to be more relatable, but I always feel more connected to Superman.
