Fun Fact: If it wasn't for Arrow & Flash having big numbers for CW and fan and critic reviews (At that time anyway), Legends was going to be cancelled after season 3 (This was confirmed at a Con, the only reason it wasn't is CW and WB packaged out the CW shows to international stations, it also why Legends has gone to be over the top comedy trash.
@@harrambou9468 Even though Arrow had great seasons and moments during the latter half of the show, the quality wasn’t the same as Seasons 1 and 2, and the beginning of 3 (for some reason after the mid season finale of season 3, the quality changed drastically and got really bad. Like they started using lower frame rate cameras, cheapest choreography, and less effort). Compare a fight scene from Season 1 to Season 7, or a standard dialogue scene, the earlier seasons looked more like a movie over a tv show.
Static Shock would have been a good one for them to try. People would recognize him from their childhood cartoon and be more inclined to watch, but he's not so well established which would give them a bit more freedom to do what they wanted. I also think a Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle would have been a good option, but a bit expensive
You missed one. Suicide Squad. It also got a pseudo-backdoor pilot on Arrow but sadly never went anywhere. I think part of the concept went into DC Legends though, bringing in Captain Cold and Mick.
@@jontullett9068 there’s still a possibility that Painkiller could be revived on HBO Max. Honestly, it would be a better fit on there given the nature of the character and the themes associated with him
I need a league of assassins spin off, showing Sara's past. Also Nyssa. It would be so interesting. Watching how Sara turned into an assassin and all the things she had to go through
I honestly liked the backdoor pilot of the potential Painkiller spinoff more than Green Arrow & the Canaries. The Arrowverse version of the character is actually pretty interesting as an anti-hero with great fight scenes and a great actor playing him. The setting is also pretty futuristic and colorful for a city that does not exist in the comics
It sounds like the CW is phasing out the Arrowverse in favor of shows that exists within a multiverse but don't connect to each other in the post Crisis universe
They had birds of prey tv show back in the early 2000's. Batgirl, Huntress and Black Canary was in it. I think the woman who plays Alice in Batwoman was Black Canary in the show
@@MyahUnleashed Yep, Rachel Skarsten was in both. She was the only reason I slogged through 6 episodes of Batwoman. She played Black Canary's daughter and had psychic powers.
I'm torn on the Canaries show getting cancelled. On the one hand, I wanted to see Laurel again. On the other hand, I couldn't have cared less about Mia.
I think it was a dumb premise. Should have just went with Canaries in modern arrowverse vs future which few fans were invested in and a dumb pilot setting up the big bad to be potentially.... John Diggle Jnr??? When your main star and villain are made up CW characters vs established loved comic ones you are on rocky footing day one. Didn't even mind Mia but she was far too new to carry a new show on - Arsenal would have worked far better as a future Star City lead and Arrow besides the Canaries mentoring Mia like Oily did to him.
About the Hourman TV show, it was supposed to be about Rex Tyler’s Hourman. They were taking more of Rick Tyler’s powers he would have of 1 hour from the character and not Matthew. It was supposed to be about Rex dealing with childhood trauma and him trying to connect with his son and ex wife
Man... CW had so many opportunities. They opened so many doors for them just to close them...? Tbh I reather this then make a shitty s1 and get cancelled.
@Morris01 No, you said the exact opposite of what I said. I said that I rather them not make the show in the first place, instead of making a shitty season 1 and cancel the show.
@@livefeedz2101 imo the cw is either a hit or a miss. They either make a really good show, or a really shit show. Either way, I feel that they sometimes milk it dry with some of their other shows. For example Arrow and Flash seasons 1-3 were actually pretty good imo
I would like a dark hourman tv show about him after his time with the jsa battling his addiction, seeing visions of the future. Until dr mid-nite reappears and asks for his help with a new foe.
It’s not going to be picked up at all. A lot to do with nobody knows who Painkiller is. I don’t get this. They could have done Painkiller and green arrow with Katie Cassidy. Both shows. Even Amazon would have been great.
While I understand why not many people liked Mia Queen and her future timeline, I feel like if she was given a full season, instead of flash-forwards where she's stuck being connected to another show, more time and effort could've been given to the character, making her more likeable, as well as developing this new future that was shaped because of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
@@jelaniwilson1699 half of the arrow verse is gonna be gone. Arrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, and Batwoman is pretty much over ever since season 2 started.
@@itjustscythe But if they were to do a wonder girl series it would be confusing if it was not set on the same earth as titans since wonder girl is on titans. But I guess that depends on whether or not wonder girl remains dead
@@jelaniwilson1699 yeah her death was surprisingly anticlimactic. I don't know much facts about her but isn't she supposed to be super endurable since she is an Amazon?
I heard that Arrow was planning a spin-off for the Suicide Squad since Season 2. But when cancelled due to the movie, Season 3 had to do away with them. I think Season 4's villains (Darhk and HIVE) were originally planned for that show.
I don't think that this episode was an official backdoor spinoff, it was just a rumor... like how CW apparently wanted to make a *Birds of Prey* spinoff with the Arrowverse' Huntress (play by Jessica De Gouw), but since she was really unpopular with fans, it got shot down. ... or maybe I'm just remembering stuff incorrectly, since I can't find evidence of that online, and only more rumors? (some seemed to think that her season 2 episode "Birds of Prey" was basically a backdoor pilote) Marc Guggenheim did state on his tumblr that he wanted Huntress back, that he wrote an episode for her in Arrow season 3 but it was rejected, but that he had a "kickass" idea for her in season 4... and that in the meantime, we'd have to read the comic book Arrow 2.5 to find out what happened to her. Huntress was another character that was supposed to show up at Oliver's funeral, watching from afar with Talia al Ghul and Artemis... but just like with Artemis' actress, Helena's had schedule conflicts and she couldn't make it.
Many of these shows might have worked even if you don't think the characters are big enough. It just depends on how well they are done. A lot of people thought Green Arrow would never work as a show either.
It's Helen OF Troy not Helen or Troy. Lol. I know it was a typo. It's just funny to think that they brought on Helen or Troy. Like you weren't sure if it was Helen or Troy.
Explain to ne how Kate going out and doing stuff is taking credit for what Batman does. You do know that Luke and his dad are the ones that would make the tools Bruce used, right? Why SHOULD Kate let peoplr think Batman is back when Bruce dipped out after killing Joker? Why WOULDNT she let it be known that shes A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON. Y'all just wanna complain about something a woman did
@@delycan4912 we aren't complaining about that. The problem is more when you make every guy in the show look like either an idiot or a bad guy. For example think about all the guys in batwoman. All the guys in the military, Kate's father. Framed as bad guys. Fox is just there for comedy relief
True then again The guy that played the Green Arrow didn’t play it like it in the comics however the guy in smallville played like guy in the comics... he
Technically Arrow was supposed to be a spin-off from smallville an originally the guy from Smallville who played the green Arrow was supposed to play green arrow on the arrow but they’ve changed it all.

Those are all terrible choices and they wouldn't even make it to production. Frost can barely maintain one episode arcs on the Flash. Dreamer and Brainy would be worse than Supergirl has gotten. And people just aren't going to tune in to shows about heroes they have never met or heard of. Nobody wants to see C or D, hell even F tier characters get their own show. None of the characters you listed can carry their own show. Your choices are similar to the ones that the CW tried to make and couldn't. They honestly need to let the arrowverse die in peace. It was a great ride. But it's time. Even Flash is getting bad. All the shows focus too much on feelings and emotions. It's lame as hell
@@senister14 No they didn't, that Birds of Prey series was done by different set of writers and showrunners, We could've gotten an Arrowverse version. Hell we even got real BOP Members in the universe
@@jourdonpatron212 changing the name would not have made any difference. Its the cast. The general public were tired of the old arrow cast. Only the laurel and mia fans wanted the show. @@hasan_1888 I'm not talking about a name change. I'm talking about the REAL Arrowverse Birds of Prey, none of that Future Mia shit. We should've gotten a Present Day backdoor pilot like the one Katie Caissy originally pitched a long time ago.

i would have loved to see the cw try to make a show from no source material. It would have forced the writers to come up with original ideas and villains/storylines
I dont blame them. The Wonder Girl it was gonna be based off of is so band new to the comics, there's not much source material and they can't write her like a totally new character and make her feel like the Wonder Girl you know. I don't blame em lol
Fr tho, they never give any information about what happens to them, and if they get new bearers. I feel like they just kind of dropped that topic and moved onto season 4.
Well the best shows they could do now which also be a very good choice for potential crossovers which we all love: Red Hood & the Outlaws (not Titans one) Green Lantern Wonder Woman/Girl Cyborg maybe a Villain like Harley Quinn? Aquaman/Aqualad All of those would be lit and would bring so much potential for crossovers and even a start to build a Justice League
honestly, I kinda we got 5 series (supergirl, green arrow, flash, aquaman, cyborg) all leading up to a justice league show, kinda like the marvel netflix shows.
In legends season 3 zari took helena of troy to themiscrya an island of warroir women so im guessing that was a ww refrence but idk if it was a mythology refrence too
I would have loved to see a Painkiller spin off, the soft pilot was easily my favorite episode of BL's last season. Last night I saw a superhero he was black he said sorry my niggahs Black Lightning ain't coming back😭
The Amazon show sounds like it would have been cool. (It at least might have had more promise than the 2011 pilot) I was absolutely looking forward to Green Arrow and the Canaries, and I was bummed that it was cancelled. I was also interested in seeing Wonder Girl. I really enjoyed the backdoor pilot for Painkiller, but I had no interest in watching the show. I think it was for the best that Deadman never came out.
i have a feeling that the canaries show would have been an absolute failure. i don't know why, but i just feel like the cw would've made it uninteresting and more about political issues rather than focusing on the story.
Did Arrowverse even have a post-Crisis gameplan? Both Arrowverse and MCU are at a place of moving on from their big crossover finale and losing the original founding characters the whole franchise was centered around. At least MCU was smart enough to not only elevate supporting characters with spinoffs and appearances in other franchises but also to bring in new lead characters while establishing legacy characters to carry on mantles.
You know DC would be good if they actually did the things instead of getting cold feet[also ditch the political correctness crap]. Heck if they did the multiverse then they wouldn't be such a joke when it comes to entertainment. Could've got behind watching Dark Knight sequels, George Miller DCCI, Superman Flyby, and Batman Beyond movies at the same rate marvel releases movies these days. Heck the multiple continuites would keep them fresh
WHAT?!?! THERE WAS GONNA BE A DEADMAN SHOW?!! I had no idea about that! I'm curious what that would've been like. Maybe some gothic horror version of Quantum Leap?
I would've liked to seen a wonder woman tv show (amazon) instead of supergirl. it could've been really cool and having wonder woman as one of the main members of the arrowverse would be awesome.
I’m glad arrow is done. Once the hood came off it wasn’t the same. They sabotaged the show in my thoughts. I think also Painkiller wud of been a dope ass show. Especially if they added a bit more martial arts and stronger story line.
I think painkiller would have been a pretty good choice because it had the potential to grow into something entirely different than what it was And I would have enjoyed seeing people like the legendary director Bill Duke return as the villain
I would want a Batman show but i hope it's not cringe like sometimes the flash could be like iris saying "we are the flash" and needing a speech every fight and more badass scenes and maybe serious but I want jokes also
I don't think there's a director or writer in the world that is aware that you can make a Batman story and actually have it not be completely depressing and dripping with edginess. It's either that, or they'll treat Bruce like garbage like they did in Crisis because "wokeness".
@@jakefulton2125 I know the ending of fighting Eva in flash was so under whelming they just talked it out. The fight vs frost and big brain flash was so much better and Eva was the main villain 😑
honestly i think if it had better writers batwoman really could have the potential to be a good batman show, a more mystery detective esque crime show with night wing could work too, I prefer if we saved batman fron animation and the movies where he has the budget needed to reach his full potential
Comparing Black Lightning with other Arrowverse shows and their plots, the stories in Black Lightning was solid. I think the show is massively underrated with one of the most arguably devious villains to be casted. Hats off to the actor who played Tobias Whales.
Same. Either that or some kind of continuation of Arrow. It looks like we will get a form of it with Diggle being in all of the shows and crossovers in the future but still I would like to a Arsenal show or something.
@@CometStar100 - I'm a bit torn about that, because on one hand I was happy that *Green Arrow & The Canaries* got canceled, since I thought that Mia was incredibly annoying, and that William was a blander version of late seasons Felicity (at first I adored Felicity, she was fantastic in the first couple seasons, but toward the end not so much). Also, the future that was set up in season 7 was really uninteresting to me. On the other hand, I loved the Big Bads of *Arrow* season 7, _the Ninth Circle_ . I was super excited about Dante (gotta love Adrian Paul), and I thought that both Beatrice and Virgil had a lot of potential. Sadly Dante got quickly killed by Emiko, and Beatrice just showed up to kill Emiko, and left with Virgil... At least the actress who plays Beatrice (Samantha Jo, AKA Samantha Win, who had already played 2 characters in the DCEU, Car-Vex from *Man of Steel* and the amazon Euboea in *Wonder Woman* and *Justice League*) got to shine in *Justice League: Snyder Cut* , being the only amazon, aside from Queen Hippolyta, to survive Steppenwolf's attack long enough for the amazon cavalry to show up... But still, I wanted to know where _the Ninth Circle_ story would go, and it seemed like the most likely candidate to pick up that loose end was this "GA& Canaries" show. But if it meant having to watch Katherine McNamara trying to do mean mug the camera for hours, might be for the greater good after all.
Black lighting was low rated but underrated. It has the best story lines.Low ratings because the cast was black except uncle Gamby.Great show though Supergirl was stale but I supported it.

I'm not saying it's terrible show I'm just saying sometimes especially in the dialogue department the show made cringe like in season 2 after Khail(Sorry if that was misspelt) died and Jennifer basically called the acting principal a racist I didn't really like that, I know she was in pain and the kid had suffered but that was uncalled for. The story and action sequences were great the dialogue between characters is my biggest issue.
I just wanna see Matt Ryan again and again. So, Deadman will be interesting for me. I love the magic side of DC universe. I hope they want to explore magic more in series or movies.
They should’ve cancelled Batwoman but no, they went on with a second season at the rating of a 3.5 out of 10. That money should’ve gone out to charity instead.
I would have liked to see Weird Western Tales hosted by Jonah Hex. I would see it as Tales From the Crypt crossed with Death Valley Days. Jonah Hex would set up the stories as an anthology series. Some episodes could feature DC western characters like Nighthawk, Scalphunter, and El Diablo.
@@zae1420 He is talking about the CW not the movies. Also did you say they made Superman stronger in the movies? Lmao. Superman is a lot weaker in the movies than he is in the comics. The movies nerfed him severly.
Wasn't the 2012 Amazon Wonder Woman show supposed to go to NBC. It had nothing to do with The CW. The show had the whole cast and the whole behind the scenes people but in the end they said no to the show
It's crazy that black lightning is the lowest rated show. Having never watched any of the arrow verse shows (with the exception of the first season of supergirl), black lightning is the one that jumped out the most on netflix that is to the trailer they play when hovering over the show icon. It's so well put together. Painkiller would have been a great show.
@@CometStar100 That's the plan. From now on, every new Arrowverse show will have the HBO Max treatment, whether is a spin off from other show, or a brand new series. We already have three shows like that: Superman&Lois, Stargirl and Naomi.
Kind of a blessing in disguise tbh, I mean with how the Arrowverse is quickly falling apart as The flash is pretty much the only one left standing and even its novelty/quality is declining due to how long it’s been on.
I think The Flash season 3 was where the things started to go wrong. They rushed the whole flashpoint storyline, which should have lasted at least a few episodes longer. Then they had the whole Savitar being an evil time remnant clone of Barry from the future which was just an unnecessarily convoluted way to make the main villain of the season an Evil version of Barry, which we all knew they would’ve done eventually. And after season 3 the writing for the show went rapidly downhill.
He is right. The fact the Wonder Woman movie was planned the CW was prevented from launching a Wonder Woman show later. It is why only now there have been talks about Wonder Girl instead because while related it is not the same character. Of course that was now canceled as well March 2021 so that won't be coming either now.
Imagine Darkverse! (Where Deadman aired instead Arrow) That would be similar but more Dark and Magic, and we later get Justice League Dark Oh, i wanna see multiverse where Deadman is created instead of Arrow and how strong timeline changed So i came out with this Darkverse: I'm calling seasons as phase, so you can easily know where in timeline it's happening Phase 1 (S1) Arrow -> Deadman (In this multiverse they choose to do Deadman, main villain is Jonah, which is too recruited by Rama Kushna so haves same powers as Deadman but he turns evil) Phase 2 Arrow -> Deadman (Next season is shows more about his live before becoming dead, and we get introduced to new characters which will be only background supporting characters, main villain would be Sensei: Trainer of Ra's Al Ghul (I choose Sensei because he was closest Deathstroke enemy for Deadman), he starts to be more magic guy and starts destroying things but Deadman is getting across the way for him) Phase 3 (S1) Flash -> Last Amazon (In this multiverse, wonder woman is aired, not Flash... It haves sense because Wonder Woman was actually team leader of Justice League Dark at beginning. Main villain is Circe, really powerful and for longer villain - Circe is magic themed villain and bigger enemies of Justice League Dark) Phase 3 Arrow -> Deadman (Ray Palmer is here replaced by Ozymandias, and here Ozymandias is not a rival, but more something like villain but not - Hard to explain. Main villain is same as in Arrow season 3 - Ra's al Ghul. After Deadman killed Sensei, Ra's al Ghul got angry and started hunting him) Phase 3 (S1) Constantine (So Constantine isn't cancelled and continues) Phase 4 Vixen (I'm just gonna skip Vixen, just don't fit in) Phase 4 Flash -> Last Amazon (Next villain could be Silver Swan, because she got powers from Ares, like Wonder Woman is "Daughter" of Ares so... I'll go with Silver Swan) Phase 4 Arrow -> Deadman (So here, we are doing the same... From Sensei to Ra's, from Ra's to Damien) Phase 4 (S1) Supergirl -> Project 13 (Instead of Supergirl, we got Traci 13... That's one of the hardest, because Traci 13 is not so much know character, so i will give her as main villain Circe, not directly - More like army of Circe) Phase 4 (S1) Legends of Tomorrow -> Shadowpact (Here i'll go with totally other story arc, we got Felix Faust instead Vandal Savage, it's nerfed like Savage is - and he is main villain of Season 1) Phase 4 Continuation of Constantine And continuation of this, i don't want Just to much work
None of the shows you mentioned I would have watched. But the CW had so many opportunities to make great shows of characters they already showed us. They could have done Taskforce X(the suicide squad), A Firestorm show, Birds of Prey, A League of Assassins show. Hawkman and Hawkwoman show, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. So many missed opportunities
a hawkman and hawkwoman show based in the egypt with constant flash of their previous lives and their currents one would be awesome. And a wacky, buddy comedy show like booster gold and blue beetle and their battles across time would be cool aswell.
What they should've done: Phase 1: Arrow: Green Arrow, Red Arrow, Black Canary (end after S6) Blue Beetle: Blue Beetle, Booster Gold Justice League Dark (Instead of Legends) Birds of Prey: Vixen, Katana, Huntress, Black Canary, Man Hunter (Instead of Supergirl) Phase 2: Booster Gold: Justice Society of America (WW2 era) Deathstroke Suicide Squad Teen Titans: Impulse, Red Arrow (Roy), Static Shock, Beast Boy, Robin, Raven, Starfire
They honestly need to stop doing the “backdoor pilot” technique, as A) It’s no longer working and... B) After it fails, and the spinoff dosent get picked up, the content of the backdoor pilot just leaves open plot holes that don’t get resolved, for example: It’s been teased in Legends and in Arrow that in the far future Star City falls into this dystopian police state ruled by gangs and corrupt politicians. It’s revealed at the end of the “Canaries” episode that Mia Queen is somehow responsible for the fall of Star City, or she’s at the center of it, but now, we will never know what went wrong. The spin-off didn’t happen, and Arrow is over.
