@@brockgundich by episode 3 do you mean the movie? Cause while their the Galactic Marines in Legend, in Canon they could be a different unit or specialized clone since their isn’t a direct canon reference to them. Unless their automatically called the Galatic Marines, they could just be the unit Keadi Mundi lead in the second battle of Gieonosus in different line gear.
Yes but arent they technically Imperial troopers? They're clones, yeah, but they aren't Clone Army, so idk if they're technically a "clone trooper" in the sense that we are familiar with?
@@StarRider587 clone trooper doesn't necessarily mean "clone army" because the term "clone army" refers to the Galactic Republic Grand Clone Army. So yes, they are clones, but they wouldn't be here because they serve the Empire. Not the Republic. Same misconception with the TK Troopers in the Bad Batch show. Yes, a little difference since most are clones, with some not, and to become the future stormtroopers, they shouldn't be considered part of the clone army as.... They. Don't. Serve. The. Republic. They serve the Empire :)
Does the Wolfpack armour in season 6 of clone wars count as cold assault armour with a new helmet or is it a completely different armour? Also I don’t think ARF troopers, advanced ARF troopers and galactic marines are mentioned and I think the mortar trooper was on umbara but great video as usual👍
@@Muteki_Fedora I meant advanced recon force troopers from the clone wars the one shown in the video was only seen in revenge of the sith and isn’t the same thing although their names both work for ARF
I was always disappointed we didn’t get to see the paratroopers or BARC troopers in the clone wars since they have my favorite designs. We’ve also never seen the Mud Jumpers as clones which surprised me.
@@phillipsmejkal1 yeah... It's sucks that Rex and Cody and arcs and some of the really out there and unique types of clones haven't ever been in live action 😭
There were a few that were missed: - Purge Troopers we’re the last batch of clones, created after the rise of the empire. They served with the inquisitors to hunt down surviving Jedi. - The Galactic Marines was a special clone division led by General Ki-Adi Mundi. They wore distinct red armor with unique helmets, and were specially trained for all out assaults and extended battles. - The Kamino guard was similar to the Coruscant guard. They protected the homeworld of Kamino, and had grey decals on their armor.
1. Clone troopers yes, but not part of the clone army. 2. Galactic marines are a name and just a corp and not a different class of clone trooper (21st nova corp). 3. Kamino guard is the same situation with number 2. A legion/corp, but not a class of a particular type of clone trooper
@@looneylunatic.2133 Video title is "Every type of clone trooper," not just those in the GAR. So Purge Troopers should still be present. As for the marines, I suppose you're right, but at the same time they look and act significantly different compared to other clone legions, so they might as well be their own variant.
You also forgot to mention the Desert Armor the 104th used when they retrieved Sifo-Dyas’ lightsaber with Commander Wolffe and Plo-Koon. I don’t know what the exact name of that trooper type is though as there is very little info on them
@@knutthenerd he's right, common misconception that it's thought to be the same as the ARF troopers. But the one he's talking about is a type of ARC trooper VARIANT
I believe those guys are pretty much just created specifically for the EP3 game. Even before the new Disney timeline a lot of things that appear in games are of dubious canon since they where often invented specifically for that game and appear no where else, despite their descriptions claiming they where wide spread.
What about, a favourite of mine, the clones in the 21st Nova Corps that fought with/against Ki-Adi Mundi on Mygeeto? They wore purple with white cloth masks.
In a way, you could probably call them a form of pre snowtrooper as their armour is very similar what the Empire used during the battle of Hoth. I guess they counted more as regular/Elite clone soldiers, just with their own unique armour design, rather than a specialised troop type.
Has there been any canon confirmation that the accelerated aging of clones continues at the same rate throughout their lives? Considering that the clones don’t age much over the course of the war itself and since Rex looks the same in Rebels as his retconned Endor appearance, I wonder if the clones’ aging slows to closer to a normal rate once they reach physical maturity. It seems like it makes more sense to keep the clones the ideal fighting age as long as possible.
I think it's just access to Bacta and advanced medical techniques that gives the surviving clones a more "vigorous" old age. Maybe 20 more years of extended service. We never find out what the life expectancy among core world humans is in the Canon sources.
@@Dakarai_Knight I think he means that Rex,,Gregor and Wolfe look middle-aged 15 years later in Rebels, and if Rex is the commando with the white beard in Return of the Jedi, he'd be biologically in his 70's with double speed aging.
@@nagger8216 tarkin did look like he aged but yularen and obi wan it was a 14 year time jump and they were mad stressed out. Yularen looked pretty much the same at the beginning of the clone wars to the end. Tarkin is the only anomaly lol. But the mans upbringing and life style outta age him like a president. That whole survival of the fittest must be tiring.
I really wish we had seen the clone shadow trooper in the show. Their armor with the red visor looked so cool & could even disguise themselves to be perfect infiltrators. Definitely my favorite look. 2nd would be the republic commandos.
Off topic but my own head canon is the young clones that ask Nala Se if they’ll still get to be soldiers go on to become the Purge Troopers that invade Mon Cala with the Inquisitors in the 2017 Darth Vader comic
Two notable variations were missed here: ARF troopers, which I believe is the official designation of clone scout troopers, and Purge troopers, which should be an honorable mention, as the very last batch of clones bred before Tipoca City's destruction became the first squads of Purge troopers. Otherwise, fun video. 👍 Maybe we can get a similar one for all known Imperial and First Order/Final Order troopers?
The video is good and I love the inclusion of SW: Legion troopers but there’s some stuff missing and incorrect. It’s Force not Forest in ARF trooper. The commando vibroblades are in the left hand, not the right. The desert troopers from the Clone Wars episode “The Lost Ones” are missing. The Galactic Marines are missing too. The troopers on Umbara with mortars should count as artillery troopers. Finally, Clone officers did wear armor as indicated by Battlefront II where they don armor in the field.
Also at 5:37 ARF troopers are not ARC troopers, and ARC troopers only wore prototype phase 2 armour until the armour was finalised and replaced phase 1 armour. They switched to phase 2 like most clones did. Also ARC trooper isn't a rank, clones aren't promoted to ARC. ARC is a designation showing a clone has been given superior training, often after being proving themselves to be above their peers. Think special forces, not a rank.
@@rszarir thought ARC troopers wore prototype PHASE 1.5 armor Which wasn't an official name but wasn't a prototype phase 2 armor but an experimental version in between phases 1 and 2. And also a more built upon version of the phase 1 rather than a prototype phase 2 armor.
I think clones will still be around in Season 2 of the Bad Batch, there were some on the Ramparts Venator and one could even be seen talking to the admiral.
Would love to see a video like this about the characters in the high republic. I get all the new Jedi mixed up in my head when reading cause I’m terrible with names, but having faces to associate them with, and having them all in one place instead of scattered in single videos and concept arts would be much easier.
As stated before galactic marines and inquisitorius troopers. You also forgot the Covert Ops clone troopers that went after deserters, as well as the Clone assassins and the first dark troopers.
There wasn't anything truly different with the Black Marines they're regular clones and different armor but technically the same to be said for snow troopers so it depends was there any special training with the Legion or did they just get unique armor
If i were the Empire, i'd continue to use clones. Mostly because i want them around, in case everyone else starts deserting in way to big droves. They're better soldiers than most living beings, after the sith, jedi and soldiers from the old republic, which killed sith and jedi alike with their bare hands, and clones are better than droids
Man, I adore Clone Trooper variants so much. It adds a layer of grit seeing faceless "mooks" diversify into so many roles. ...Wait a second, you forgot the Galactic Marines! D:
I love these types of videos Makes everything super comprehendible and provides a really good overview I’d really like to see the same type of video but with every type of imperial trooper/storm trooper The Mandalorian added a bunch of new variance and there’s probably been some others added to from different comics and stuff that I haven’t followed So it would be really helpful to get a updated overview of those
I prefer the original classic Phase 1 and 2 clones. I dislike the bad batch 😤 😒 or the defective clones, not a normal soldier on the battlefield. I don't trust them. Why is there a girl supporting the bad batch squad that's not permitted or very professional for the clones to form personal private relationships 🤔. Clones are supposed to be neutral, just like 👍 any other soldier. Jango Fetts Clones are very similar pattern to Agent Smith Clones Matrix Realoded 2003 movie 🎬 🎥. Clone medics deserve some credit and respect. These troopers act like male nurses or lifeguards. Better Safe Than Sorry Crystal Clear.
Let none of us forget Clone 99 who had died during the battle of Kamino, defending his home from the droid army. He is one of my favorite Clone Troopers and I'm happy they named the Bad Batch after him.
fun fact, boba fett, jango fett and the clones are all 1.83 meters tall, while temuera morrison, the actor who plays them all (he represents all the clones in the movies and later maybe in live action as well) is just 1.71 meters tall.
It really does bother me that people call Coruscant Guard a "Shock Trooper" I know its sort of accurate, but use the correct name. (Shock Trooper is what they are called as Stormtroopers)
Have clones been completely phased out? They obviously aren't producing anymore but there was that clone on the bridge of the star destroyer and they will probably keep using commandos for a while.
What was the most popular helmet in the first trilogy aside from Darth Vader's ? Well, Boba Fett's of course... Starwars prop designer: "LET'S MAKE ALL THE NEW HELMETS LOOK LIKE BOBA FETT'S HELMET !"
republic commando armor was called Katarn Class? no wonder i felt like a badass in them, they're named after the starwars equal of Chuck Norris, Kyle Katarn
