Imagine they brought out a game where you are a clone starting out in kamino get to choose your specialisations which sends you to a specific company under the command of the jedi General fighting battles all the way to the empire, you then get to decide to defect or stay fighting for or against the empire. If you die you start again and can choose a completely different story line. All with custom armours etc.
I would watch an entire show (assuming it was well done) about the Galactic Marines. Heck I’d settle for a mini series about a squad going through training and being mercilessly grilled by Commander Bacarra until they achive the perfection he’s looking for.
A R rated starwars about the average troops with a grungy grunt type setting would be awesome. You kinda get that vibe in the original movies particularly ANH when the storm troopers are patrolling the desert. Like band of brothers but starwars lol. It would be interesting to watch a close nit group of clones or maybe ever storm troopers go through multiple campaigns and possibly fight a Jedi. It could get into the squad level tactics needed to beat a Jedi and all that it would be sweet I think.
2:01 Yeah, seems like it. 3 Million Clone Troopers is a ridiculously small number when you have to fight a galaxy wide conflict. There are several countries that have more soldiers than the Republic. And it gets even worse when you consider that 1 soldier in a direct combat role needs 2-9 soldiers in supporting roles. Logistics, supply, medical staff, communications, maintenance and so on. That is one thing that has always bothered me about the Clone Wars. Nice video. I like your editing.
I have seen a video that said how many troopers the republic actually has. It thinks thats units were not actually individual clones but rather battalions
Star wars writers never seem to be able to account for scale, in the grand scheme of the Galaxy, 3 million clones won't make enough of a dent in galactic history to be called "the clone wars"
@@elsimainwell some sources say more clones than 3 million but keep in mind it only took one trooper “Fives” to understand the plan and the corruption that went to the “highest levels” as he said. But that’s just a side note. 1 or 2 Clones in the Series clearly are able to take one 3 or 4 battle Droids if they are smart and can outperform their opponent. Clones like Arc troopers and Delta squad were of the highest caliber. They were able to compare to some Jedi missions. The Jedi would need Delta squad because of there ability to assist and absolutely limit casualties to Zero at almost every Battle or war.
The Coruscant Guard is fascinating to me. It’s the only unit not under a Jedi’s command. Perhaps they knew more about Order 66 since they were under Palpatine’s direct control.
They did know all about it, Commander Fox answered directly to Palpatine and he knew about all of the jedi contingency plans and the likes which is also why he killed Fives, Palpatine told him to
Coruscant Guardsmen were said to have been trained ON Coruscant, giving undying loyalty to Chancellor Palpatine. And Palpatine probably also persuaded the council/senate or something to have the Coruscant Guard not under Jedi command.
Wish Filoni or Lucas showed more of the Galactic Marines, they were such a cool clone unit. I still question why Mygeeto wasn’t shown much in the Clone Wars
I want them to continue making movies and/or shows about the clones, especially with the galactic marines. not just because I want to see more of them in action, I also want them to have a reason to make more 3.75 clone trooper figures and finally release 6 inch black series Bacara and galactic marines.
I love them all but for me the Coruscant Guard are my favourites. The red markings look great. They have sub units including Diplomatic Protection and Galactic Senate Building Security, as well as Jedi Escort duties. They also guard prison facilities, deal with urban riot control and handle hostage situations. Plus they have the honour of protetcting The Supreme Chancellor himself. Their numbers include Advanced Recon Force Scout Troopers, Clone Riot Troopers and Clone Shock Troopers. They also never had a Jedi General. Orders came from Palpatine himself or Admiral ( later Grand Moff) Tarkin occasionally. Very cool !
Yeah I really like the Coruscant Guard too. The thought of City Clones is just really cool to me. I also thought it was super cool how some of them even had electrostaves.
Because for a lot of people, the clone troopers are the most interesting of the factions. The rebels are kind of bland as is thier politics. The resistance is basically a rebrand of the rebellion. The empire and first order are kind of mid
@lukerayners6729 Yeah that could work. I would say why not just take the DNA from boba fett, by i'm not sure how viable the DNA from a clone of that original template would be
5:45 Commander Neyo, ARC Trooper Storm, Adi-Galla, Stass Allie, and 91st Recon Corps In Tales of The Jedi, The Bad Batch, Obi Wan Kenobi and Andor seasons 2-3
The 187th is my favorite besides the 501st, with Hawkbat who have amazing ponchos and Lancer who are badass lancers are favorites too. And Hawkbat has the best design because of their amazing ponchos.
4:05 Draa, Nemec and Fireball fought in the Battle of Kashyyyk alongside Luminara Unduli, Yoda, Quinlan Vos, and the 41st Elite Corps In Tales of The Jedi, The Bad Batch, Obi Wan Kenobi and Andor seasons 2-3
For those who don't know, the 104th battalion respected plo koon so much that they printed "plo's bros" on one of their gunships. Plo was known for viewing his troops as individuals, as men, not as expendable soldiers. Im also pretty sure anakin was the same with his 501st legion.
You forgot the lime green troopers that were on the planet bad batch was on during order 66, they were led by Deppa Ballaba, and Caleb Dume, they had red markings on their armor in comics, but switch to lime green sometime in the clone wars (as seen with the bad batch s1 ep1)
12:59 If I was a clone trooper I would want to be in 41st Elite Corps. They utilize AT-RT walkers which I am pretty good with in Battlefront 2 and I think that Luminara Unduli is one of the better Jedi Generals to serve under.
@@oce4nistheman316 😂 I see your point. But I'm not entirely wrong. If you want to drive a tank you'll have to go to the Army. If you want to be in a submarine you'll have to join the Navy. So if I like the AT-RT walkers, I should pick a unit that uses them, right? Besides, countless people want to become fighter pilots without having ANY idea what it is really like.
Thire started out as a lieutenant but eventually rose through the ranks to the rank of commander. There is nothing stating that Thire served under Thorn other than the fact that both of them are officers in the Coruscant Guard's Diplomatic Escort Group. For all we know, Thire could have served under Commander Stone, who was also a Commander in the Diplomatic Escort Group, until Thire became a commander himself.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102Diplomatic Escort Group; that's why Thyre was with Yoda during the negotiations with the Toydarian King in the first episode of Clone wars
@@ChunkeyT Oh, I sincerely apologize then. I thought that you were telling me that. But yes, that is why Thire, Jek, and Rys were with Yoda on Rugosa, as all three of them are a part of the Diplomatic Escort Group (AKA Diplomatic Service or Senate Security) which is a section of the Coruscant Guard that is sent out on political escort missions to protect senators or other important people they are with.
What kind of information about some 57 commanders? We do not know the commanders of the 501st legion, except for the commanders during the empire. The entire animated series showed us not 501 himself, but only one of his company, the torrent company under the command of Rex, he did not command all 501, he was only a close associate of the clones to the general, because the torrent company is the best in 501, and Rex himself is not a full-fledged ARC soldier trained under the Alpha 17 program.
21st nova corps is my favorite I remember them growing up and playing the original battlefront ll game when it came out in 2005 they were clone Commander's in the game they used Z-6 chainguns
The 501st is a play on the US Army's 101st Screaming Eagles made famous during WW2 Normandy. As for my personal favorite. Yoda's Green Company Clone Rangers (based on US Army Ranger Corps) are my favorite.
To me, my favorites are the 501st Legion, 104th Battalion/ Wolfpack, and 212th Battalion. If I was a clone, I would choose either these 3 clone units because of the armor, jedi general, bond between clones and jedi, and ideologies of the clones
U forget to say that the 187th was the only one who doesnt execute the order 66... because they was so loyal to windu to have orders from anyone else... when the 501th atacks corusant... the 187th was the only team helping the jedi to survive before the 501 kill them
I would join the 327th Star corps because I know the most about it. Like really. For example (leadership structure) CO: Marshal commander Bly XO: Commander Deviss SXO: Captain Tyto Hawkbat battalion : Major twelves (Battalion CO) Major inc (battalion XO) Foxtrot company: (CC Lieutenant Galle) Bacta company: (CC Lieutenant Barr) K Company (CC Lieutenant Faie) Troopers (CC Lieutenant Aden)
We need a Tales of the Clones series going through various legions and battalions and how their relationships with the Jedi were like and what battles they survived
I think I would join the 104th (BC I lead it in my own star wars server) and probably the 501st because they are specizliesed in explosives and were the most well know with I think the most nice Jedi general
501 did not specialize in explosives; it was an operational unit, like 212, thrown from one sector of the front to another along with generals to strengthen certain areas, both strengthening the defense and strengthening the offensive capability of the army.
1:03 dude what? You say a Squad consists of 10 clones, then say a Platoon consists 41 clones, then you say a Platoon consists of 10 Squads and 1 Lieutenant
A squad is 9 troopers and a sergeant (10) and a platoon is 4 squads + 1 lieutenant (41). I think he misread the wiki page that says 10 total at the end of the squad line thinking it meant the number of squads and not the total soldiers it included.
If I had the option to go with Appo or Rex, I'd probably choice Appo since the part of the 501st with Rex all die, which is funny couse rex and bly are my two favorite clone troopers.
My headcanon for the Purple 187th clones: The 187th Special Operations Group Leader: Jedi General Mace Windu and Clone Commander Atlas Specializing in covert and clandestine operations, a very exclusive unit comprised of some of the best clones in the GAR. Their missions are highly classified, hence why they haven’t been seen much
My favorite Trooper/s are the 5 units from the first season of the Clone Wars series, Hevy, 5s, Echo, Cutup and Droidbait. Hevy is my favorite above all other Shinyies
I would join the 501st because I feel it would’ve been the funnest and most rewarding clone battalion to be in because a skin always had fun startegies
The most common operational legion of clones, thrown from one sector of the front to another. Their usefulness was only in the fact that they strengthened a certain area and because of this there was an advance of the vronts. I practice this scheme on other sectors of the front. More useful were the ARF clone division, which performed a huge number of functions and tasks for successful operations.
Such a shame Cody and the 212th often got the short end of the stick in the show. They were super badass and pretty decidedly turned the tide in every fight they fought. Not to mention Cody is the only clone to not only shoulder charge a commando droid so hard it died, but also sock Grievous in the face and live.
Orange is not the color 7 of the case, orange is the color 212. The 7th Corps also included the 442nd Regiment and the 501st Regiment and several other units with different colors. What you say is color 212.
Served in the 41st 1st, with my friend Kaiden, under chancellor Vexitus. Reached Sergeant rank, but never farther. Probably my fondest memories. Then the 327th, for a brief period, before another good period in the 104th years later. With them, i spent about twice as much time than my time in the 41st and reached the rank of Captain, in charge of Grey Company. At this point id lost kaiden for some time. At the very end of my service I very briefly joined the 501st, at which point the republic was falling apart, as we would eventually march on the jedi temple on coruscant.
In my head the 187th, are actually a sub unit of the Coruscant Guard (Given their similar markings.) But are the unit with in the guards that are assigned to Mace Windu. I mean in my head it makes very little sense for Windup and Yoda to have permanently assigned large clone units, considering anywhere from 50 to 75% of their time is spent away from the front running the Jedi Order. Kind of be a waste to have them commanding Units that then have deputy commanders when they are not there, and much more fitting for them to take command of units when needed. Also worth stating I dont think that the 187th and the Anaxes clones are the same unit. I know the they were intentionally made to be different to the 187th. I would assume that the Anaxes clones are like... A more conventional Infantry battalion with in the 91st Recon Corps. I would also assume that those Jedi Who lead Battalions are actually in charge of larger units (Though the exact make up I am unsure on...) Just because if every battalion had a clone commander seams to be a bit of a waste of resources, and even if not every Battalion has a Jedi Commander. the unit allocation seams a little warped. Plo Koon leading a battalion when somebody his contemporary (Obi Wan) Leads a Corps. But sort of like how the 212th Batallion seams to be the 'command' battalion of the 7th Sky Corps (Or at the very least Kenobi's and Cody's choice for command battalion) Maybe Plo Koon and Wolfe have the 104th as their command element for whatever unit they command. I know I am just talking from my own head here, but as I said it just feels a little all over the place. (Which I guess is to expect when military's are written by people that don't understand them.) I'm not even going to try and address the 501st as honestly. That's just a mess. Rex should be a commander and though some argue that he couldn't because of Ahsoka taking the rank, that feels a little weak as there are as many arguments against it as for that theory. As for the 442nd I have always liked the idea that they would have been Qui Gon Jin's Battalion had he survived considering their similarity to the 212th
The 187th are far more likely to be a subsidiary unit of the 91st, because that's the unit Windu is partially in command of (alongside Adi Gallia and Stass Allie) and the clones seen on Anaxes are part of the 187th Battalion (not to be confused with the 187th Legion which is ALSO under the command of Windu), and the 187th Battalion is quite likely a part of the 187th Legion. So the unit structure would go 187th Battalion (dark red) < 187th Legion (purple) < 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps. The 442nd Siege Battalion is almost certainly a subsidiary unit of the 7th Sky Corps under Marshal Commander Cody, as the only times we have actually seen the 442nd is in a couple of comics where they are serving with the 212th Attack Battalion directly under Cody. Also, they have the exact same marking pattern as the rest of the 7th Sky Corps, just in green.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 Whilst I get what your saying, the only issue i can see is that im pretty sure the clone wars designers said that the anaxes troopers are in no way connected to the 187th and that they are intended to be completly different units. Also im pretty sure that the Airborne armoured commander was called the 187th battalion commander when he was first released though I may be wrong there.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 where are they refered to as the 187th? Because the only evidence I know of is that when Hasbro did a preview of there action figure of the clone it was called '187th battalion clone trooper' which seams to go against Lucas films own say on the matter. You may be right and im not saying you arnt but canonically the 187th legion have only ever appeared in a lego set and producers from the show came out to say the Anaxes clones are not the 187th and then Hasbro went and did there own thing. Whilst in real life and to us fans the legion and battalion titles mean unuts of different sizes you have to remember that those that write this infomation have called the 501st under Rex every unit size from a company to a corps in Canon and Wookipedia is not infallable.
@@Bowsy-1120 The Anaxes trooper is referred to as the 187th Battalion on the Hasbro figure released of that design, and Hasbro only called that figure the 187th Battalion because that's what Lucasfilm officially told them to call it.
What is there to show? Basically, life on board warships consists of combat posts, food, sleep and a lot of free time for self-development. There was no entertainment or any of this on the ships, mostly the clones just sat in the barracks and minded their own business.
I mean.... Who doesn't wanna be the pointy end of the spear..... Being with Rex and the boys holding the perimeter, while Anikin does Ankin things.... Let's fucking go!!!
87th was probably mace windu's recon'd corps. It would make the most sense, since he is the Jedi councils' enforcer, and close quarters urban combat would be his forte. 187th being his airborne sub sect that directly fights with mace windu.
I have too many fav’s. Rex, Cody, Wolffe. Can’t forget the Bad Batch (clone force 99). Also Captain Howzer (Howzer’s squad part of the Lessu battalion), the aqua blue is nice.
@@kadsennecher5087 3 million is smaller than some militaries on earth right now, you do realize How big space is right? To occupy hundreds of different planets would take a lot more than 3 million people
@@funny3scene No, those "units" mentioned in Attack of the clones are singular, meaning just one trooper (1,2 million troopers at the time). Proof of my theory can be found in CW S3E11.
If you were a clone soldier, then you would not be able to rise above the captain, and if you boarded a ship that was not yours without permission for someone else’s unit, you could easily fly to the tribunal.
@@awesomemanmatthew3450 clones are literally just clones, you make how many you want and they don't change, they don't have a family, while stormtroopers do
I don't know if it's Canon but in legends the 65th coruscaunt guard are the only clone battalion to not be cloned or trained on kamino, palpatine had a secret cloning base built on coruscaunt and they're also the only clones that never had a jedi general due to palpatine wanting them to be completely loyal to himself
104 needs a series about them they werent explored enoupgh they are so unique in every way they have one of a kind armour a nickname coolest jedi plo koon plo koon and the 104 should have series about them they are so underexplored
Why is it that the only clone forces to be shown in ROTS are so underrated like the 91st, 327th, and the Galactic Marines, like they're some of if not the toughest forces in the GAR
It always struck me as weird to see the clones marshalled out in full armor, just to get their bucket. Seems like the armor and lid would have been a package. They kinda work together lol. And if the argument is that they got each off a separate queue....well, thats kinda dumb too.
If you take a look at the action figures... the purple ones are the 187th Legion and the maroon ones are being called the 187th Battalion... I think that's how they separating the legends from canon.
i know this comment is coming late, but i found a misstake: a platoon cansists 41 troopers or 10 squads, but one squad has a0 troopers, so 41 doesnt make sense cause then it must be 101 clones :). And my favorite clone is Fives or Neyo and my favorite batallion is the 332th.
Should make a Westworld type show about clones kind of waking up towards the end of the war like how a few became independent thinkers after seeing their jedi and clone brothers getting slaughtered
