Your explanation of German Twisted Cast On is the first time I haven’t thought “Oh hell no” and moved on. Thank you for your excellent tutorials. I watched this one as I finished up the second sock from the original Every Day Sock pattern and now I’m looking forward to #2.
Okay, back and watching again. I didn't get a response to my first inquiry, so this will just be an observation. You may have more success if you used a plain background, instead of a background with texture, which your camera is trying to focus into. Like a plain white or cream piece of paper, with no texture. Then the camera will try to focus on your yarn or your hands. Just a thought. I'd be tempted to remake the video using that technique, since some of the glitches really does effect what we can see.
OK, so I'm gearing up to make my first sock. Ugh. I feel like I'm gearing up to land a ship on Mars, but whatever. I was given some 50%acrylic/50%bamboo. Would that make good sock yarn? I know you said Wool with a little Acrylic is best. And what about those yarns that have elastic wound in? Do they work up easily for a first-time knitter? Just asking...
