I think a good thing to note, with Shadow's seeming nonchalance in saying "Chaos Blast," that this was, in his first Death Battle, the moment where he got killed. In a sense, it was a relief for him to just say "fuck it" to the dramatics, and whip eradicate Ryuko in an instant the second he got the chance.

Wasn't expecting the shout out, thanks dude! *quietly slips $100 bill across the table* It was interesting to see how much are lists started off similar but then slowly diverged as it went on. Definitely a based number 1 pick with a really funny foreshadowing bit going for it. Which has a couple layers on it honestly not only as a slight at Steven's analysis, but also with how heavily hinted at and borderline spoiled DIO vs Alucard was leading up to its release. Good stuff!

I actually got back into Death Battle during this season thanks to your Season 1 ranking video. Honestly, really good season to come back to. So, thanks for that.

For what it's worth, Akuma didn't just give in to the Satsui no Hado, he had to because Kahn was taking his soul and it wavered his resistance (not a theory, this was the intent)

So, one thing I actually learned about Macho Man VS Kool Aid Man by talking to a friend of mine who works on the show. The actual intention of the death is that it was coming from the stomach, which is actually more close to the chest than what we normally see as the stomach. Apparently the "near the heart" death was NOT AT ALL INTENDED, and was mainly just "Kool-Aid Man going for the stomach, which is actually near the chest" than it being the "controversial death" a lot of people see it as. Either way, really great stuff! Love watching your DB Ranked vids whenever they come out.

52:23 I think this was an experiment with JoJo color changing. Not saying it looks good, but it serves a role rather than just being an inconsistency. Later in the fight during the blood wave the background also changes blue but I never actually see anyone bring that up because it's done much more smoothly.

Not sure I disagree with any of the placements too much other than Number 5 and Number 1 (but in the case of number 1 i just disagree with the episodes outcome in general) but hey, this ain't my list, so its not my call where things go. Honestly... Batman v Iron Man just frustrates me to no end. Not the fight itself, but the concept. The instant the Final Batsuit or Hellbat are used... you just have Iron Man Lite. Batman is known for his gadgets, brains, martial arts, and hardcore determination. A knock-off Iron Man suit is the last thing anyone wants when they see him.

I have DIO vs. Alucard and Goku Black vs. Reverse-Flash in my all time top 3 of all Death Battle episodes since they're that good. And ya wanna know what's crazy? I prefer Goku Black vs. Reverse-Flash over DIO vs. Alucard solely because of character bias and holy hell, Goku Black vs. Reverse-Flash is a FILLER EPISODE. Yeah, a filler episode is my all time favourite. They made it THAT good. And before ya ask, I have Balrog vs. TJ Combo as my second favourite episode.

Steven Universe VS Star Butterfly is the Death Battle I have gotten the saltiest about. In the fight, they show Steven dying to Star's laser even though his analysis states that he can dodge lasers. Also, the jokes weren't funny, especially the bacon giving superpowers joke.

Hyped af, this has been along time coming for me to finally see whether fucking curly hair Jesus likes Goku Black vs Reverse Flash more than Dio vs Alucard and whether or not the guy will put Saitama vs Popeye at the top and make me sad.

One of their best, but goddamn, as someone whose favorite superhero is Batman and favorite supervillain is Lex Luthor and as someone who also really dislikes Dr. Doom, man did this season sucker punch me in the balls, still Popeye vs Saitama, Reverse Flash vs Goku Black and DIO vs Alucard are goated so it evens it out

Honestly, I still feel that Blake vs Mikasa is kind of a waste of a slot since it really doesn't feel like a legacy matchup compared to the rest. Hell, if it was placed in season 7, I'd be fine.

Another great countdown as usual with my only hope being.......Blake VS Mikasa was at the VERY bottom.(that one reactors 'dream match' is absolute stupid TRASH, sorry pal.) Despite my own distaste and distrust with the RWBY DB, I didn't need that to tell that this match up was a dumb stomp. With the worst of the main 4 being the chosen character doesn't help either(she's been teetering on the edge of being a side character for many seasons/years with her whole personality JUST being the damnable bumblebee ship which has also been Yang's personality as well. Absolutely one of the worst ships of all time. It sucks and it ruined the characters of said ship.) I honestly hope there will be NO RWBY battles ever again because despite all the arguing over the shows 'quality', the company that made is indisputably a horrid piece of shit that must die. I don't want people to suffer just to make......rwby of all things(not even a DC crossover and ending RVB will save them from their approaching demise.)

This season has my favorite fight in the entire series, and I was literally grinning like a hyena seeing it at Number 1. That's what I call based as fuck.

Only thing I heavily disagree with is Link vs Cloud. It’s a pretty episode with good choreography for sure. But lets not pretend this isn’t the Cloud featuring Link episode. Link is barely treated as a character to where people who aren’t as familiar with Zelda will genuinely think he is a blank slate character which isn’t true. Chosen Undead and Dragonborn are infinitely more blank slate and got better treatment. Link is a character with his own values, goals and and emotions. They completely gloss over why Link is such an amazing character while Cloud got the whole nine yards and given way more reason to actually care about him. It was clear that the writers were more interested in representing Cloud as I feel they would have done more than just listing Links weapons if they really cared about Link. The fight is also pretty but has serious contextual issues that being it down many points for me. For clarification, I don’t judge episodes based on who wins or loses. I love Chosen Undead vs Dragonborn despite me wanting CU to win for example because they did such an amazingly job representing CU as a character and really had him do a number on DB. So why don’t I care for this animation? Well when you ooon beyond the surface, it’s mostly just Link either getting completely outclassed or whenever he does do something, Vloud just effortlessly shrugs it off making it seem as though Link really stood no chance. Although I am not of the opinion that Cloud wins, I don’t like how he did. But let’s go through the major points in the fight. The beginning has Link starting the battle in motorcycles which is t bad. They start battling and Cloud is clearly better which makes sense. Cloud then does some cool tricks on the cycle and blows Link off his bike. Good start. Link then takes Clouds bike and INSTANTLY USES HIS BIGGEST WIN CON AGAINST IT! After I saw that I k ew he was losing. Once they get into the church it’s a fairly even back and forth which goes south the second after the time stop happens. Cloud smacks away the master sword and bodies Link. But then Link brings out the four sword and does a really cool attack against Cloud with a big bang!!!!!….only for Vloud to be completely uneffected by it and instantly 1 shots 3 of the 4 links…..wow. But then Link has Lee cool moments like him using the cape to lead into the lightning filled skyward strike!!! Yo it was so cool!!!!….until Cloud effortlessly turns it around on Link and literally kills Link while Cloud was missing a bit of HO so he used healing magic but seemed rather undisturbed. But then Link gets his badass Fierce Deity transformation and charges towards Cloud which is so badass!!!!!!…..only for Cloud to fairly easily block and evade him and then casually lead into one shooting Links strongest form…..wow. And to add insult to injury they had Cloud cut through the complete Triforce. For context, basically Death Battle animated Cloud absolutely stomping Link at his best the second he mildly started to try and had him cut through the complete Triforce which is an omnipresent and omnipotent item that can create and sustain a multiverse………..and they end it with Cloud acting like it was the easiest crap in the world. Yeah context ruined this battle for me. It has no bearing on the winner or loser but how they are portrayed. CU vs DB is my favorite battle in the current season despite my favorite losing. Phoenix vs Raven is on the lower end of episodes of the current seasons because of how the loser was represented. And I was rooting for Raven to win so I should like it right? Well it’s all about the context and looking beneath the surface. And I can get over how much they pandered to FF fans here. Even the track was almost exclusively FF7 inspired with 1 moment that was Zelda inspired. Well this was long but yeah, Link vs Cloud 2 is not one of my favorites

Imma be honest, i'm a salty fuck. So watching my litteral favourite Anime character get the most brutal death in the show makes me like GB vs RF less. ON THE OTHER HAND MY SECOND FAVOURITE ANIME CHARACTER FUCKING WINS HIS FIGHT SO AY DIO vs ALUCARD SECOND BEST DEATH BATTLE (It was beaten out by Guts vs Dimitri)

I disagree on Korra vs Storm- the fact that their answer to “avoid toxicity of Rey vs Korra” was “feed Korra to a high-tier marvel character” was both annoying and distracting. Not helped in that it feels like they’re pitying her the whole fight. Korra gets a shit ton of calcs in her analysis and gets kind of a “girl power hype” thing from the hosts, only for them to casually drop Storm creating planet-wide storms not even a minute into her analysis. Korra dominates most of the fight only for Storm to just blow her brains out right at the end. I’m not saying Storm should have control over most the fight, but more balance woulda been nice. And then its revealed she’s got jack friggin squat advantages in the post analysis- no stats, no hax, nothing. And of course, we all knew that, but it’s irritating that they thought putting Korra in a fight she had NO CHANCE of winning, with little to no connections, was a better choice than just hunkering down for Rey vs Korra. As a wise Rabbidluigi once said- “I’d rather have nothing.”
