I got the lined trucker and I absolutely love it. The only other one that calls me is the rancher in forest or charcoal. I think after this I am just going to buy Iron and Resin though
I forgot to mention that I got my jacket on eBay for 150 and I would not pay 300 for it. The lack of cotton flannel and lined pockets is a major reason
I appreciated this comparison video. All the models in one place! Very helpful, and well done as usual. I like the wool lined also, and especially in the color you showed.
I have the "Wool-Lined Trucker" and the "Rancher" jackets. Both are great but the Rancher is my favorite. I was worried it would be too bulky but it really isn't while still having room to layer. I feel like it's the only one that really cuts it for the winter and has the broadest seasonal wearability range overall. Both are excellent though.
Appreciate the video! I've got a few colors of the flannel lined trucker, it's my favorite so far. Tried the Hudson as well but the a couple buttons actually broke when I was trying it on.
I were my Carhartt J140 jacket just recently got 1 of their Artic coats, really want to get 1 of these tinder flint waxed jackets just not in my budget right now! Thanks for the review!
My Winter jacket at the moment is the sherpa lined Carhartt Washed Duck Bartlett jacket. Absolutely love it! I also own the Flint & Tinder flannel lined waxed trucker and think it's perfect. Having said that, those other options have me thinking....should I maybe have a third jacket?!! :)
@@Oomph6006a silk wool blend with a touch of cotton for strength would be great. Silky soft and warm as can be. Could be various wools; alpaca, chasmere, Marino.. hell I’d even take mohair over poly. Viscose would be nice but it’s not a warm lining. Various plant cellulose based fabrics can make nice and light linings with a satin feel.
@@richeyrich2203 But then $200-400 is not enough.. Polyester is very good for recycling and will be a big part our future.. Lots of plastic can be re-used to produce polyester... I like the idea..
@@richeyrich2203 Then $200-400 wont be enough. I would prefer wool and cotton also but polyester is better for recycling. Polyester can be 100% recycled and fibers can be extracted from plastic bottles and other similar waste products - as an example, five water bottles provide enough fibers for a t-shirt. Recycled polyester thereby gives new life to material that could otherwise end up in the landscape or oceans. Both Wool and Cotton is pretty hard for the environment.. I dont know how much cellulose based fabrics affect the cellulose based fabrics..
I have the flannel trucker and the mill both in small. I am 5'6" 150lbs. The trucker sleeves are a little snug for my arms and make it hard to layer. The mill is way more moveable and warmer and I love the corduroy parts on the collar, cuffs, and pockets. I also cant stand the buttons on the trucker. They get snagged on everything. I dont even see how big buttons even became a thing for a work jacket. If I set down a piece of lumber it snags , if I lean over to put something in my grocery cart it snags the cart, if I am sitting at a work bench and go to stand up I almost fall back down because it snags the edge of the bench. I have to constantly babysit the buttons to watch for snagging.
Deciding between Wool-lined Trucker and Hudson…which is warmer? I’m also actually thinking of waiting a year since I hope they hope they adopt your suggestion of a wool-lined inside collar.😂
I have Barbour wax jackets so for me the Hudson has some of that Barbour details. It seem to be better build. Personally I just go with Barbour for wax jackets & no matter how much I like Pedro pascal I probably choose Barbour, F&T Is not bad just not my style.
I was watching another review of the jacket and apparently flint and tinder weighs the trucker jacket before waxing so it’s 7oz before waxing and about 9.5oz after waxing.
I am going to take a guess at the start, the Rancher is your favorite. Its is really growing on me! (and you beat me too the full FNT Waxed Jacket video).
@@StrayReviews Your wool lined does not have lined pockets? Mines does. But I did just get mine a few months ago. The only jacket I don't have that you covered is the Mill Jacket. Last jacket round it was not in stock. Maybe next box!
Hi, thanks for the reviews. May I ask about the sizing? The numbers on the Rancher seems a lot bigger than the rest. I have the Unlined in Medium, and the closest to it will be XS for the Rancher. Should I stick with M or go XS? THANK YOU! Just read the other replies u made. Seems Medium is the way to go
13:40 Coldest weeks of winter is a full length overcoat by Barneys. Its about 10 pounds or something crazy. All wool and double breasted..... Peasants I shall Shun Thee!!! I said Good Day Sire...
How roomy are the wool-lined waxed trucker jackets in medium? I'm also 5ft 8ins, weigh around 155, with a 38 ins chest. I notice the arms were quite long on your medium. Not sure wether to go medium or small and I come from the UK so can't return it.
It's roomy enough for me to wear a sweater or hoodie underneath. The sales page has a really cool "Find my fit" section where you can choose a size, and it will display models of various heights and weights, so you can see how they fit on different bodies.
It's never been my favorite material either, not for sleeves at least. And SO MANY companies use it. I'd much prefer something softer to the touch and no scratchy feeling. @@StrayReviews
Please do a budget friendly one... Even if I was wealthy and not a student. Theres no way im spending $400 plus on a waxed jacket... Now a custom all wool overcoat with a fur lining now thats worth $500 plus..
The perspective is unique in how we see things. I got the flannel lined trucker for like $260 before the price jump last year and it’s one of my least expensive jackets. I do enjoy it though and recently posted the Hudson to go with it. The bulk of my jackets are American made leather though.
@@StrayReviewsA LOT of your content is from a hand full of companies. Huckberry (Who owns Flint and Tinder) being chief among them. Disclosures should be at the front of the video (See Stridewise and other respected creators). And detail whether you got free stuff to just use or to KEEP, got paid otherwise in cash or in kind, and so forth. You said your opinions are your own, fair enough. Does Huckberry have copy approval over your content? Do they see your vids before we do? You make vids with good, if not standout production value. I know how long it takes to edit even simple videos and the cost of some of the equipment. Credit where it's due, your content is very good, if seeming a bit "Rehearsed." If you got $1500 worth of high-interest jackets to make content on and keep, plus your affiliate links, plus a chance to go from a "Stray" to a "Subbed Creator" through the algorithm, that seems like pretty fair comp for you on this one.
@@BWM135 Thanks! The reason you see so many of the same brands on my channel is because so few companies are willing to send out review samples to a smaller channel like mine (and I'd never be able to go and buy it all). Huckberry was actually the first company to reach out to me to see if I'd be interested in reviewing their stuff. They don't see any of my videos before they're posted (nor do any of the other companies) and they don't get any approval rights, since it's not "sponsored content". If it were, I'd let you know up front. I don't get paid for any of it (but I do get to keep the products). I also get a small commission when someone uses my affiliate links, and I get a little for the ads that run. If my delivery seems a bit rehearsed, it's because I use a teleprompter. If I don't, then my videos take forever to edit because I ramble without a script. Have a great holiday!
