I have the Wool-Lined Trucker and absolutely love it. I've had my eye on the Rancher for a while because Midwest winters are brutal. Waiting for it to be restocked.
I don’t own any F&T, but this jacket is the one I like the most (the green/brown one). However, I live in Atlanta, and the minimal amount of times I would actually need to wear this jacket per year doesn’t justify the price. But if ever move back to Ohio, I’ll buy it in a heartbeat 😂.
So a triple super hero analogy huh? wow- so let’s see that’s Captain America,Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk, I’m sold- I’m just going to have to plunk my money down then 😂😅.
i have both lightweight technical clothing and heavy-ass work-wear clothing. i got my blanket lined carhartt chore jacket 20 years ago as a sierra second for about 50 bucks. i'll wear it this morning when i walk my dogs
Hi, thanks for your videos ! You are approximately the same height and weight as me and i'd like to know if all your flint and tinder jackets are size medium ?
From silhouette alone, judging as best compliments your body type say, for date nights on the town, which jacket do you prefer, this or the flannel lined one? I'm looking for something trim and the trucker (small) rides quite high up my waist, so the waxed rancher (small) might work
Maybe i missed it but i was wondering if you have tried the Flint & Tinder "Quilted Waxed Shirt Jacket". It has the quilted pattern on the exterior. Im a tall guy with a longer than normal torso so im looking at the Rancher and the "Quilted waxed shirt jacket" because they appear a little longer than the traditional Trucker version. The one im asking about is also only $200 for some reason.
When I was looking a few years back, I had my eye on the Quilted Waxed Shirt Jacket, Flannel Lined Trucker & the Hudson. I REALLY wanted the shirt jacket but they were out of stock in my size, so I opted for the Trucker. Ended up sending it back for the Hudson. I had fit issues with the trucker. I’m on the shorter side (5’8”-5’9”, 165lbs at the time. 175 now) but have a rather broad back and the trucker just didn’t pass the hug test. I was worried sizing up would make the sleeves too long, plus I liked the look & pocket space that the Hudson offered. Since then I’ve picked up 3 other heavier shirt jackets (unwaxed) that have satisfied the itch, but that waxed shirt jacket still pops up in my mind.
How do the arms differ? Looks like the trucker has less creases and is more tailored on the arms, which I like. Still, have Small flannel lined and it comes too high up my waist, which leads me to try a medium, or maybe this in Small.
Without measuring the jacket, I’d say they’re accurate. It’s a bit roomier (but not too much) than their other jackets. Looks like they’re on sale right now. Cool.
I have the Flint and tinder Hudson and it has been great in the fall. I am considering this for my dad, but I wonder about the button closing. Does it let a lot of cold air in compared to say one with a zipper?
I don't think there's any more cold air because of the buttons. Probably because the jacket is on the thicker side so there's no real gaps around the buttons.
I like the look of that jacket better than the trucker. I personally would prefer they take the 2 inches back. I prefer for a jacket to come to my waist for day to day wear.
