I’ve checked the Viking bag website. There doesn’t seem to be any products for the new generation Chiefs. I guess these only work if the customer customer fabricates docking hardware themselves?
please tell me what model these are and from where you got them. ive contacted viking directly and they told me they arent making anything for the 22 chief dark horse
The owner of this 2022 Chief Dark Horse bought the Vale Lamellar Hard Bags for the 2021 model, but his bike has custom modifications that ensure there is enough clearance from the shocks and the exhaust.
yes the exhaust is aftermarket by performance exhaust. the shocks are factory. so if no other modifications are done to the bags or mounting hardware. other then added spacers. all other 2021 models should work correct.
@@VikingBagsYT i believe from what ive seen from your install videos. i can make any style fit my bike. i just need the distance from top of my exhaust to the top of the fender and the gap from the fender to clear the shocks
Is it confirmed that these bags will clear piggybag shocks with stock exhaust? For example those that are stock on the 2023 sport chief? OEM bags from Indian do not and are therefore not compatible with sport chief models.
I was just looking at the 38L Lamellar bags, and I have a '23 Sport Chief and it says that it will fit my bike. If I had a aftermarket single pipe, would it let the bags sit down a little more so they aren't as high?
If the aftermarket exhaust is not positioned too high or extends to the middle of the rear wheel, you may be able to install the saddlebags normally. Otherwise, you may need to elevate their mounting position slightly to ensure enough clearance.
If the passenger sits slightly forward so there is clearance around their legs. It is possible but difficult to ride with a passenger while these hard saddlebags are installed.
