I don't even have a DRZ and I still watched the whole video... Why is your footage so beautiful and your editing so dialed? Such an enjoyable vlog to watch
@@wolfram608 Haha thanks! I definitely have a few years of editing experience but these vids are my first time ever talking on camera… trying to not hate it 💀
Your style of passing on information is really good dude. Really easy, to the point, precise. And the production quality. Oof. Awesome. Keep it up my man. 🎉
this is some top tier video quality for only having 1k subs, great video. Also as for the 3x3 mod, if you have a jet kit and are delivering more fuel to your bike, it is beneficial to also have more air (3x3 mod) to compensate and have the optimal air fuel ratio.
Good editing, good music at just the right volume, good looking scenic city, good information. Keep it up leaf boy, your making me want a supermoto again and I've got 2 new songs to listen to from your vids.
Your first video got me hooked and I tuned in the second with food on my plate and I couldn't get a spoonful in my mouth, your style of editing is like eye candy and each segment just flows in so smoothly, would love to know your editing workflow and how you make these videos, love from Malaysia
I feel like you made this video just for me. Couple months ago I picked up a used 2006 DRZ sm in black with 30k miles bone stock. Put exactly the same tail tidy, pegs and levers, but all in black. It has an exhaust but no headers, I need that JD kit asap but it doesn't ship to Greece. Was looking at the same supermoto tire for my next swap. I'll also paint or get graphics for it (probably a cheap set from china). The led bulb is a game changer, it was my first mod. Led turn signals weren't a good experience though since it needs a new relay or resistors wired up. And I need to service the top end and put a new cam chain in it sadly. I'm in love with this bike, might remain my daily for many years to come. Edit: Thanks a lot for the abundance of info, your work inspired me and probably many others.
Yoo thanks so much man, I appreciate that! I think the mods we both ended up doing are just what everyone with a DRZ inevitably feels they need. Stoked you like the sm as much as I do
I have the led turn signals, and I just left it on hyperflash. Haven't been hit or ticketed yet LOL! If you are doing the engine anyway, I would recommend upgrading a few of the internals to make it an E spec - it's like 20% more power than the SM. With more power, you can also install the ACT gearing set that make the transmission a true wide ratio one. First gear does not change, but you can cruise at 100km/h at around 5000 rpm. Super cool. Also: we are heading to Greece in a few months. Besides Athens, where should we check out? Cheers!
@@machupikachu1085 Thanks for the huge insight! My main issue is that it needs a timing chain asap, as the previous owner said, been looking for a good mechanic and time to do it. To my ears it sounds fine, maybe a little noisy when it really warms up. It also backfires once every time I let off or shift. Doesn't consume oil which is a huge plus. I might go for a manual tensioner to extend the life out of the chain a bit. My other issue is the heat. I'm not sure if it's the crazy high ambient temperature (35+C) but the bike definitely seems to run hot. I cruise at exactly 96km/h with absolutely no vibration, was thinking about going down a tooth or two when I swap my drive chain. I did look at the wider gear set, cost is a little prohibitive but if I ever lose a gear I'll consider it for sure. This bike was a mint "barn find". Bone stock with all the stickers and even the saddle bag. Just not sure about the service history. Got it for 2.5$ which to me is really cheap. I might honestly pick up a spare motor from a crashed bike if I get a good deal and fix it up as a backup, since the bike my main means of transportation. It's nice here, mainly just hot this time a year. You can find really nice beaches almost everywhere and the nightlife is good in every city. The islands are also nice, mykonos for parties and santorini for the view. Inland there's the pozar bath and meteora if you end up in the north. Haven't really explored Greece myself so I'm sure you'll find cooler places. There is mountains everywhere so you'll stumble across some twisties if you veer of the main highway. Hope you have a great time here!
@@machupikachu1085 I've been to Corinth once, many years ago. It's nice for a day or two. Crete is an adventure, haven't been there but lots of my friends visit. People are nice there and will probably offer a lot of drinks.
First video was great and now this! You made me pull the trigger on the jd jet kit. Now to make up my mind on the 3x3 mod haha. Thanks for the amazing content, hope you make it big!
i have a DRZ and i bought it used from a guy who solely used it as a wheely machine. It has a yeshimura exhaust, 3x3, FCR39, Stage 2 cams, 440 big bore and is geared very short. And i must say that i hate the short gearing but mostly the stage 2 cams. They do create some more torque at higher rpm but at low rpm the bike wants to stall even when just cruising. Am thinking replacing them with the originals. All the other mods i really do like. The videos are insane btw!!! immediatly subscribed! can't wait for more DRZ content!!!
Super interesting comment dude, I keep looking at the FCR39 and big bore as kind of a winter project. Pretty soon I won’t be able to ride on the streets and will have plenty of time to tear apart the motor
I commented on your first video saying i also have a Drz400sm, and man oh man this video is so helpful, i tipped my bike over once and broke the clutch so i had to get that replaced. When you make a video over what modifications you do make do handle grips as well. LOVEING YOUR STUFF MAN
Just found your channel, awesome videos!! I’ve got a 23 DRZ, yoshimura full exhaust, 3x3 mod, twin air filter, fender eliminator, Baja designs twin led headlight, and Lectron Pro carb. Still trying to dial in the lectron carb but love the bike. Finally found a channel making some DRZ content!! Keep it up
Not gonna lie, your editing is freakin’ great and I’m glad to have found this channel. It’s 100% convincing me to get a dual sport, currently thinking about a CRF300L rally or a KLX 300SM.
Had a DRZ SM many years ago. Sold it and regretted doing so that I just got another motard because they are honestly so much fun to ride. Another great mod for it is the case savers. If you’re going to practice doing wheelies or trying to slide it these are a must.
One thing else id recommend is the zeta rubber killers. They tighten up the front end and give you alot more turn in response, I think they're like $20 us. Also Socal supermoto also makes a video on how to set up the suspension on these, which is like cranking the front dampers all the way down or 1 click off, something like that. It makes big difference with turn in response and just feels alot more comfy. I'd recommend trying that too if you like to get the most out of what you got
Awwwhh dude I had my second of fame there on your video! Heheh Nice work dude! Really love the drz, both good taste on editing and bike! Keep it going🤘
Great editing, great commentary and great footage. All on the greatest bike ever made. Your videos rock dude. I have a '19 SM that I set up for trail riding/ADV and it's super cool to see how others set up their bikes. Looking forward to the next video! Props for representing Canada as well!
Awesome content. I have a 23’ Drz with similar mods. Proper tires will be my next upgrade. I just got a gpr 300 on the rear but I think I’m upgrading to Dunlop Mutants this winter
Another outstanding video. I grew up riding motocross and have now owned everything from Harleys, sportbikes, sport touring, adventure, and my favorite by far was an Aprillia Dorsoduro 750. Had the pleasure of working at one of the largest online powersport auctions where it was my job to test ride, take pictures of, and evaluate every kind of motorcycle you can imagine. I love riding a supermoto because it feels like a dirt bike, and that's what I learned to ride on so it feels the most natural. My only hesitation on getting a DRZ400sm or any supermoto is the lack of power on the highway for taking long trips and limited luggage capacity. If I ever buy another supetmoto, it will have to be a second bike because of its serious limitations. They are indeed the most fun motorcycles I've ever ridden. Keep up the excellent videos! 🤘🏻
10/10 video man! If you get into stunting it you’ll want the oil breather mod. Involves rerouting the breather hoses up around the frame and not back into the airbox. Air going into the carb is way cleaner and if you’re doing long wheelies no more oil routing into the airbox
It’s so much fun man once things start to click! A few buddies and I started getting into it awhile back great time learning new stuff and how to master control of the bike. Cool seeing some ontario bike content on here!! I’m from sw Ontario
@@ReflectSM The carb has better throttle response for sure. I have early "E" cams, better top end. An open exhaust, carb and cams together, do increase power.
Just finished watching the first video too, your editing is out of this world amazing along with the production quality! This channel is gonna see some wild growth. Also what VHS camera are you using for some of the cinematic shots or are you just heavily filtering the footage?
what's up bro. hope your channel grows. new sub. may get a drz in spring. l like the t7, the honda 450. i don't know may not get a new bike again. last was fz1000 i may go with the Z900. so many choices.
Great video man. I would like to recommend you get some new gloves though, you really don’t want to damage the digits in a low side. Decent gloves are cheap insurance. Love the paint, looks fantastic by the way!
I’ve thought about changing sprocket size - I’m leaning more towards setting this bike up for wheelies in the future as I commute with it less and less
So glad I found your channel! I'm currently working on getting my drivers license back in new country, and I was thinking I'd switch to supermoto after that. My last bike was VFR1200X. Could you please describe main DRZ400SM differences, if you also moved from another class?
I picked up a DRZ 3 months ago and it’s a 2020 white and blue but no blue wheels. They are black but I blinged out the rest with Blue anodized parts Put some Conti TKC70 rocks so I can gravel road it I want and still rip the street. The bike is for running around with a small big in town. Have the 2019 😅African Twin and a brand new Tenere 700. Like fly rods. 4weight a 6 and an 8. Love riding
@@kiefer8083 Thanks dude that’s a huge compliment. I haven’t had any issues with them. I torque them evenly and check them every once in a while, but I’ve never had to tighten them
I use Hero 11 black and the mic is just an old Amazon wired lav mic I had lying around - probably gonna upgrade that soon. I’ll do a full video going over my motovlog setup soon
@@jetta.josh4 yes I do have editing experience haha, but this is genuinely my first go at a channel like this of my own. My first time ever talking on camera was like 2 weeks ago for the first video 🤷🏻♂️
Your clutch cable wear issue wouldn't be so bad if you didn't use it so much. Try blipping the throttle and shifting without using the clutch. The tranny is synchronized. It'll shift just fine without pulling the clutch lever every time. I've got a 1970 Kawasaki G3TR and only use the clutch for stopping and starting in first gear.
I used a wide band o2 to tune my bike and the jd kit was off a bit for where I'm at (sea level) I swiss cheesed my airbox instead of the 3x3 full yoshi 5k miles on this setup I can pull the wheel up easily with just the throttle
Acerbis: Ah-chaird-beace "ah", "chair" (with a tongue dab), "beace" (peace but with a b) Also, anyone getting rid of the beautiful stock DRZ headlight is just wrong. It's such a cool headlight shroud.
@@ReflectSM Yeah i know what you mean, they do look dated. I just love them. If i HAD to find a solution i would mod the Husky 701 shroud to fit and put one of the DUAL.5 headlights in it. So sweet. $$$ tho
Wow, just thought about selling my DRZ but after this vid I just want to ride it. One question, I got a 2006 DRZ with the old 22mm bars, is the one you have on your DRZ the stock Renthal fatbar? I thought about ordering this one too
@@XxZHODxX Yeah it’s the stock bar. I haven’t compared them to anything else so I can’t really suggest the best bar to get, but this one works fine for me 🤷🏻♂️
