I have a 2022 Venza Limited, made in Japan. It's the first vehicle I've owned in 40yrs that did not have a problem in the first year (rattles, squeaks, leaks, other minor and major issues), so far so good, and about 40 MPG average in 17 months of ownership so that is a bonus also :)

In particular the 300 line (not so much interested in the 350’s). And is the IS300H dead? On the Stinger any idea when the last one will role off the assembly? This is my first choice, but guessing by Feb 2024 for me will have to be a low mileage used car - if I’m lucky.

I have a 2003 Celica Gt-S still going strong Japanese built with only 145.65 on the odometer.

I owned a 2021 Crosstrek Outdoor (Canadian version of the Sport Trim basically) and I currently own a 2023 Crosstrek PHEV and both vehicles have been absolutely fabulous! They were both made in the Gunma factory in Japan.

its a shame that Hondas arent made and imported from Japan here anymore. Still great cars and a now brainer decision to buy one but there s still some pride of having the vin start with J knowing it was built in Japan where the build quality is better

I had a J Vin 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid that was made in Japan. Planned on getting a new accord hybrid when lease ended but the newer american made accord hybrids didnt feel as solid.

I was in different regions of Japan for three weeks. I was surprised that I hardly saw any Honda. Most of them were Lexus, Toyota and Mazda.

Thanks for an interesting video. So here’s the thing, go to Japan and you end up seeing a lot of Japanese vehicles that don’t come to your market. Is Honda shrinking ? That’s hard to say without factoring in the massive Kei car segment. Most of the Japanese car makers build other products. Honda builds everything from motor mowers, motorbikes, all the way up to jet aircraft. Other Japanese car makers build buses and trucks as well. Your video got thinking me about who makes what in Japan. No doubt you did a lot work to assemble the info for this video. Thanks again….

Had a Scion tC made in Japan, didn't have any problems with it in the 8 years I had it. Then I bought a Honda Civic made in the United States, it's had numerous problems since literally the moment I drove it off the lot. I'll be switching back to one of the Japanese made Toyota/Lexus products in the near future. Very disappointed in how Honda's quality has slipped in recent years.

On the Mazda 3, it seems that all sedans are coming from Mexico, while the hatches are from Japan; almost similar to the Corolla, but the difference is that the gas Corolla sedan comes from either TMMMS or Japan. For Hyundai, most of the Elantras and Sonatas in showrooms now are coming from Korea for the most part. Elantra Hybrids, N Line and N come exclusively from Korea (the same goes for my Sport). Accent was no longer made in Korea since 2017 as it was built in Mexico for its last generation (2018-22) alongside the Kia Rio.

As a 2023 IS 350 owner, yes, the quality of Japan built vehicles is a lot better than the ones from America… I also own a 2021 Rav4 Limited made un Canada and a 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport made in Mexico…

I had a ‘22 Toyota Corolla SE Sedan made in Japan was recently in a bad car accident now I was able to upgrade to ‘23 Toyota Camry SE made in U.S.A. Kentucky plant. 😢😮

The new TTV6 GX being made in Japan honestly makes the Sequoia irrelevant. Reliability with the engine should not be much worse compared to the V8 GX. But should be way better than the Sequoia imo.

Really Sad that not 1 Honda Acura is made in Japan anymore. I had a 99 Accord Ex sedan made in Japan and an 04 TSX made in Japan which were great. Then I had an 07 RDX Which was made In Ohio which had lots of issues like broken ac, battery drain issues which lead to rdx not starting. Junk Ohio made Acura.

It makes sense that the all ev or PHEV versions are made in Japan right now as most of the batteries are coming out of China or South Korea. Once the NA battery plants are up and running I see them moving more production to NA.

If Mitsubishi wants to survive in the states its needs more than free oil changes and and trim levels to its vehicles to survive.

Subaru Forester is made in Japan for the 2025 model year, followed by made in USA going forward. CrossTrek Base and Premium 2.0 models are made in Japan. The 2.5 Sport, and Limited are made in USA. Some claim the 2.0 engine is too slow, while others say it is just fine. In my case I live close to sea level, so it might not make a huge difference. Are the cars made recently overly complicated, with too many nanny features, is the larger question. Will people decide to buy used cars or keep their vehicles going until they can not longer find part? It's a strange, strange world...

Call me an automotive purist but I like my German cars to be made by Germans, Japanese cars by Japanese and American cars by Americans. Cars are the major source of manufacturing prowess and pride for their respective nations from a historical perspective. Also, a lot can be gleaned, and you can tell a lot, by how cars came to be just by their national place of origin. Being an automotive enthusiast I appreciate how German cars handling came to be because of European roads, why American cars favored big V8s that gobbled up miles and straightaways and how Japanese cars are relatively diminutive due to their confined driving spaces in Japan. I get in the day and age why you want to build where you sell due to cost efficiencies and globalization but something’s lost with the mystique of natives building their cars with great sense of national pride

I have owned my share of Japanese cars from Nissan Infinity Toyota and Lexus. In the early days I feel there was a stigma against those not built in Japan with a perception the quality wasn't as good. There was media event some time ago and I wont name the Japanese car but one was built in Japan and one in NA. The guests were not told which was which but to rate which one they felt was better. Most picked and were surprised later to learn the NA car was viewed as better...

The new Tundra, Sequoia had many quality issues right from the start, expect the same for the new Tacoma... and forthcoming Camry. I'm a huge Toyota and Lexus fan, own a Lexus as well, but Kirk, Toyota Usa is far to "independent" in product development and outspoken opinions.... . Very destructieve for the imago of Toyota and Lexus worldwide. The statements of Toyota Usa regarding EV transition etc, wow, in every newspaper, frontpage in Europe....... . It will cost Toyota billions to recover from this imago damage... . They are considered the least environmental friendly car brand in Europe..... thanks to the Usa Toyota management and Toyoda.
