Kirk, Happy New Year! 🥳🥳In a market absolutely starved of quality wagons, the Crown Signia has to be Number 1. Number 2/2A is the Land Cruiser/GX pairing. I will go out on a limb and suggest the #3 Land Cruiser FJ will arrive before a new 4Runner.😉 #4 goes to the Camry as I support the necessary move to make them 100% Hybrid. 🙌🙌🙌
Really excited about the Civic hybrid. But, would like Lexus to bring the LBX. Smaller but more boxy design. And, from what I've been seeing US MPG in the 60-70mpg range.
Great video and happy new year! Excited about the new GX, new Land Cruiser and the new Tacoma….and finally the new 4Runner. As a 5th Gen owner myself the 6th Gen is going to be awesome.
People think the signia is controversial? lol you gotta be kidding me. It looks conservative and clean. Opposite of controversial in my opinion. It looks great!
Super excited for all the gas & hybrid models, I don’t plan on selling my home is a long long time and I’m not able to have a charging spot at home. And we have absolutely no charges where I live. I also routinely take a road trip from southern Ohio alll the way to middle Michigan around 240 miles one way. I’d have to charge alllll the time. EV just isn’t gonna work for certain people, sooo excited for ICE 🤪🤪
There are electric vehicles that drive 240 miles. And many, many electric cars that would only take one charge for 240 mile trip. Of course, I have a hybrid and drive 240 miles with 2/3 tank.
great vid. All of these vehicles are pretty exciting, even if they aren't all in my wheelhouse. Million dollar question will be, will any of them sell for MSRP? Likely not. The Land Cruiser would get my nod, just not at 5-10K over MSRP
Nice 👍🏼 CONTENT - you’re so thorough Kirk 👌🏾 I’ve seen rumor that the next Gen MAZDA CX30 Is coming as a 2025 model - possibly being revealed in Nov 2024- BONUS- will have a spicy 🌶️ (not Hot but spicy) Tuned/performance variant in the vein of Civic Si or Hyundai N-line (But not as hardcore as the mazdaspeed era)
It's too bad Subaru chose to use their boxer engine in their new Toyota based hybrid layout. It would have been perfect if instead they mated Toyota's 5th gen 2.5l hybrid powerplant from the upcoming Camry to their awesome AWD Subaru system, since Toyota and Subaru are sharing parts now. I've always said, the only thing wrong with Subaru is their boxer engine. That would have fixed it and made a perfect Forester, except for the "Edge" looks.
12:52 If i were Honda id mimic that cool Kia van they sell in SK only w/ the light bar on the front. Dont do a Chinese copy but use that as reference for your own honda design. I love that van look they have and I'm shocked its not sold here. Im not a van guy. But for that.
The LC250 is being delayed which will probably delay the 4Runner again. I can see the 4Runner being a version of the Fortuner that is being redesigned in 2024 and IMO will be made in Mexico to keep costs down by sharing parts with the Tacoma and reducing shipping costs.
The word "affordable" is questionable, anymore, for even a "reasonably-priced" new vehicle (say, $38k?). With monthly payments, combined with other related expenses, it can come to over $900/month. 'Kind of sobering.
Kirk, how sure are you that the CX-70 will be the length of the Euro CX-60? There was a rumor for awhile that the 70 would be the same length as the 90, but with only 2 rows...
My top is the new M5, GX550 and i lost my LC so ill need another one of those. 😭 Dont ask how i wont say. However in looking for a new one i cant stand the "updates" they did for 24 losing the clock, adding that tacky ass screen, dropping the art piece and light on the passenger dash and new button center which feels cheap IMO. The buttons they used in the new center are sub Lexus. In summery they cheapened the car. So I'm looking for a 22 or 23 coupe w/ DHP in IR/TC... good luck i know.
I'm not sure if it's even technically possible to have it both ways. I think it's an either or proposition due to the laws of physics but ,I don't know.
AWD isn't necessary it just increase the price and reduces MPG. I live in Canada and are winters are mild now because of climate change. I would rather have more MPG. Thats the reason you buy a Hybrid in the first place. @@amamiai
The CVT in the Subaru is its Achilles heel (As are ALL Nissan/Infiniti CVTs). Current Odyssey lacks cargo room between the 3rd row seat and the tailgate and the 3rd row seats are REALLY uncomfortable for adults (with the headrests poking you in the back and your head hitting the roof). As for the Camry, I’m wondering if there will be a TRD or GR model offered in the future?
I hope the civic hybrid is not expensive. It would have been great if the hp was kept the same as in the accord. In Canada the prius is over 40,000. The civic NEEDS to be cheaper.
@@Blank00they’re all wagons but they have to make it look like a cuv bc thats what people want. the outback is an actual wagon though, it just has a raised suspension. current venza is more cuv than the first one
@@BlackNAVYAmericanVET We import oil cheaper than we export. It's also something to do with processing the oil, but I don't really understand the details there. We also care about global oil production because oil prices are set globally. Outside of specific circumstances, oil prices are set by oil and gas companies and not governments, though government policies can have an effect. You know, it's a really easy fact to look up. The US is currently the largest producer of oil in the world.
The Honda van hopefully it get a redesign. I’m not impressed how it looks. Front and rear look ok,but the side of the van with that curved body and Crome trim by the side windows reminded me of a hurst.
Would like more hybrid, all electric is not great idea. Buddy had Honda Clarity, battery degradation down to 80% after 2 year lease. Then model gets discontinued, no.
Happy New Year Kirk! My top Japanese vehicle would be the Crown Signia with the Hybrid Max powertrain 🙂Oh wait, that's not going to be available in 2024. Okay, the Crown Sport with Hybrid Max. Maybe 2025? They can't call it "Sport" and *not* offer the Hybrid Max powertrain! Can they?
Why doesnt Mazda just shrink the Cx-5 only a touch and discontinue the cx-30... like who is buying the cx-30? You could just get a mazda 3 hatch and its the same thing. The cx-50 is more competative with the rav 4 and crv anyways cause of the size. Im pretty sure the Honda and Rav4 are so popular is 1 reliability and 2 cargo space.
The Crown Signia is looking interesting but no PHEV? Ugh. And the Mazda exterior designers seem to be stuck in the past. Same with the Honda designers. Meh.
I just tuned my 3rd gen Tacoma off-road OTT tune it gains 24tq & 18hp probably as fast as the new turbo & save $10-15,000 lol these prices got me fucked up! Anyone else feel that way? Electric⚡ cars & trucks are a joke. Toyota hybrids are legit but I'm good with ICE engines myself 🤷 all this technology is goofy! maybe I'm old but i sure don't care for it.
Well, as usual, we've got the rich people covered. Now, we need to see what's coming for the remaining 70% that can afford sub $35,000/$500@mo, or less.
I know I am in the minority, but suv's, vans and wagons are not my cup of tea. I want an affordable compact sedan with good handling, enough power to have a little fun, four doors, good amount of leg room, good tech, and no cvt.
No one wants a vehicle with just a hybrid engine option. Sad to see Camry going that way. Hate vehicles that have engines cutting in and out all the time.
@@1nvd Gas and diesel powered engines to mine the lithium. Coal fired power plants to run electric power grids to run our houses which we use to plug our car into. Power grid would never be able to handle it if everyone had an electric car. A plug in that is. No way to get rid of battery safely. The teslas all over Florida started on fire when submerged in water after the last hurricane. Took 15hrs to put out. Then caught fire again on flatbed tow truck. 2 old people in Tesla crashes while on autopilot kills 2 old people. They burnt to death. They’re destroying other countries eco systems mining the lithium. The charging stations are producing way too much electromagnetic radiation. Extremely dangerous. There is much better technology out there being witheld from us.
Not a word about MITSUBISHI ?????????????!!!!!!!, especially the OUTLANDER and PHEV model . ICYMI ,Mitsubishi MAKES CARS IN JAPAN !!!!! Pretty biased presentation.
