Your breakdown made me tear up a bit. i have definitely been there in life. Not knowing how to move forward, not knowing where to start. My grandmother would say just put one foot in front of the other and one step at a time the journey gets better! This was a good review i just might rewatch this! I like this movie. I wish there was a series done on this movie like The Best Man Final Chapters because i have a lot of questions about what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. Did DJ’s buzz increase due to beating up Skinny Black? did their beef escalate or was it squashed? Did DJ get signed to a major labeled after being released from jail? Here comes the fun facts: Terrance Howard & Anthony Anderson were also in Big Momma’s House, Terrance Howard & Taraji P. Henson were also in Four Brothers, Empire & they’ll be on the series Fight Night streaming on Peacock in September, Terrance Howard & Paula Jai Parker were also in Idlewild, Terrance Howard & Ludacris were also in Crash & Anthony Anderson & Paula Jai Parker were also in My Baby’s Daddy. Here comes a sad fact: Terrance Howard was only paid $12,000 for this movie. Next week’s review is Double Jeopardy.

The whole theme is I don’t like this lifestyle but I don’t know what else to do. Even though it was rough, DJ made it! Shug was definitely a ride or die for DJ. As much as some ppl would’ve asked why couldn’t Shug leave and find someone else who would treat her right? For some women, it’s not as easy and she really loved DJ. Thank you for acknowledging Isaac Hayes with the Legend counter! And also, what about the Three Six Mafia counter for their Grammy win?! At least at the end, lol. I enjoy your reviews as always. Don’t stop what you’re doing! As for next week’s review, all I’m going to do is wait until next week. Sorry, my guessing streak done ended..

Hey, my Memphis sis! I remember when this movie was being filmed, I stayed down the street from Crystal Palace, and they had Third Street, so blocked off! Then, when the movie came out how Memphis was going up and was already playing the songs, and the movie was just put in theatres. Only accuracy in the accent was the fact we say "mane." 😂😂 And you aint lying about triflin' ass MLGW. They stay on BS

I don’t think Shug’s baby was Deejay’s. She’s only “sitting down” because she’s pregnant. There’s a point into which Deejay’s talking to Key, about Keshia-the baby, and her dreams and goals and aspirations. He brings up the fact that her father is unknown. But she still deserves a chance. When he finally claimed Shug- he assumed responsibility for her. Hence the whole, “look out for Shug”..

One of my FAVORITE memories was being a Memphian seeing this movie in theaters when it came out at a theater in Nashville. It was sooooo OBVIOUS who was from Memphis when the beat for Whoop dat Trick dropped! EVERY one of us stood up!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I felt so loved 😂😂😂
