I actually agreed with Orlovsky's take that his 2nd pick was worse. He had a simple check down in the middle of the field that was WIDE open and not only would have moved the chains but would have put them in field goal range if he breaks 1 tackle. Not always about where the ball ended up that makes it bad but where it didn't.
@harpoon_bakery162
@harpoon_bakery162 2 года назад
you are correct, #28 (Taylor the check-down) would have had to made a play to get to field goal range , there was a dude right down a ways, but would have moved the chains and wildman Wentz (doofus Wentz I mean) would have probably done ok getting them to a victory. The mindless throw to double-coverage is just baffling and unbelievable to have happened minutes after the inexplicable debauchery in the end-zone....How does one player do all that damage in one game? I've never seen anything like it, I really haven't .. and he did it in a game that meant EVERYTHING to the Colts, not just an important game, a game which knocks them out of the play-offs in week 8, WEEK 8 ostensibly. I get back to the word mindless and can't get off of that word. That's the only way to describe Wentz. A franchise killer basically. The Colts haven't beat a playoff team in 8 tries dating back to last year. Obviously they are going to win by 30 on Thursday Night Football (Colts), so that one doesn't count for crap either. Jets stink to high heaven and will get plastered by an angry playoff-less Colts team that just wants to not get embarrassed on national TV and then go make their winter reservations for somewhere warm, perhaps Key West Florida or Mexico.

So first off...Colts were up 14-0 and decided to go for it on 4th and 3 from inside HIS OWN territory for NO reason, didn't get it, and that gave Tennessee momentum to score the next 21 points of the game. Thanks Frank... Then, the Colts DB intercepts Tannehill, falls down without anyone touching him and fumbles the ball for no reason. Tennessee gets it back and scores again... Mind you, ALL of this was without Wentz throwing a pick in his last 212 passes....THEN Wentz throws a pick 6. But he makes up for it by driving the length of the field and scoring a TD to tie the game and force OT. When you score 31 points and lose, that's not on the QB

Same. He should have been used as much as Debo is used in San Francisco. The biggest knock on Watson is all the dropped passes. He's gotten better this year but my dead grandma was better than him in the last season. If he can run crisp routes and catches the ball consistently in the NFL, he could be a solid deep threat. He ran a 4.35 40 with a bum knee before knee surgery and was GPS tracked at 22mph. He should be a solid special teams player at absolute worse in the NFL

Man I wonder if Pat knows that his criticism is actually hurting the Colts future. Carson's stats are fine. It's a lack of good skill position players that are hurting them, but this criticism will blind the commoner into thinking Wentz is the problem, thereby totally ignoring the Colts actual problems.
@AJ_Ol
@AJ_Ol 2 года назад
stats don’t really tell the whole story for Carson. He is not as bad as he was last year for sure but there’s just so many head scratching moments with him that don’t show on the stat sheet. We know who Carson is at this point and a change of scenery may have helped him cut down on turnovers but he is still who he is, a QB with immense natural ability but terrible decision making.
@Smithpas410
@Smithpas410 2 года назад
@@AJ_Ol if I was to agree with you, how do you fix it? I think you call more scheduled run plays and not RPO’s. Or how about giving your star running back 20 carries. Oh here is one more, get Mo Alie Drops off the field and put Jack Doyle out there more.

Carson Wentz reminds me of year 1 and 2 Josh Allen. These plays "it's never over until it's over" lead to stuff like this... like Allen lateraling the ball in the heat of a playoff game vs the texans in year 2... Allen seems to have outgrown those moments, although sometimes he scares me too... Wentz seems like he never did...

Honestly I don’t even blame Carson for the loss, that loss 100% on Frank. To throw it 51 times when Taylor was averaging over 4 yards a carry is crazy he could’ve had over 150 in the game…
