this is what im saying for years idk why we went for Westbrook a guard who can't shoot that needs the ball to be effective When you have Lebron and AD all you need is surround him with shooters and defenders It's not that hard really outside of Lebron and AD, Keep AR, DLO, Vando, Hachimura or probably Prince but im not high on Prince tbh get Caruso and a center who can shoot 3's and block shots to support AD
To be fair my man, Davis getting not enough shots has been an issue since he came to the Lakers. He has always been the most efficient scorer, but for the last 2 seasons Lebron was taking way too many shots(21+) and this season his shots did fall back to 18 per game which is fine but realistically if there is a player that should be taking the most shots, even if it may be 18, it should be Davis. And after multiple different coaches in which this did not change, means it has something to do with Lebron or AD themselves which I think is about Lebron. Lebron has multiple times from the first season till now stated that Davis is the first option. In practice this clearly isnt true. The actual reason is mostly guessing, but to me it surely seems like it has little to do with the coaches.
To be fair, we flamed out in 2021 after to injuries to Bron and AD due to the shortened off-season and lack of proper conditioning. When those two were playing, the ENTIRE offensive plan was “Give Lebron the ball” Bron was getting older and the injuries convinced the office he needed somebody to take the offensive weight off. Enter: Russell Westbrook
KCP started playing like shit. Kuzma started playing like shit. Danny Green started playing like shit. Dwight Howard bailed cuz he was insecure about this future. Caruso wanted to get paid and so he did. Well yeah, coulda kept Rondo but Rondo needs shooters and decent players around him to work. Besides, he was getting old.
😂 fr he just said go get better shooters, better rim protection, and good defenders without acknowledging the fact that they don’t have the assets n these archetypes don’t grow on trees
You need a 1A, 1B, and 2A player to be competitive. All the top teams have them, unless their support players are so much more dominant than other teams support players. Lakers don't have a 2A player. They have (2) 2B players in DLo and AR. Occasionally, DLo can be a 2A player. But he becomes a 2B or 3A player when you need him to be a 2A.
I think they’re just nervous either one of Bron or AD might go down with some sorta injury. Having that legit third option would serve as an insurance policy that the Lakers have been wanting since the outcome of the 2021 playoffs
I hate how the lakers always think they need a star. They don’t. They need a solid team, not one player… it’s tough to be a fan when you have opportunities to do the right thing but they keep deviating from it.
A bit part of their identity is as the "Showtime" Lakers. Even if the team is playing solid if they don't have a big name some of the fans, especially the big courtside celebrities they love to show on TV, won't show up. That hurts the "brand". They sell a ton of merch worldwide because even if someone doesn't know jackshit about bball they know that the Laker's are the "it" team, even when they suck. Having big names helps that.
It's not that they need one, it's that they want one and can't seem to tell the difference. It's also part of the cultural identity issue the team and the NBA has.
@@maqywhaq agreed. I wish they can take a page out of the warriors or spurs playbook and develop their players and keep them and make minimal adjustments to the roster instead of overhauling it each season.
I honestly don’t know why anyone would ever willingly play with LeBron as a teammate-you lose, the media and fans immediately go after you and your teammates as the problem, but the instant they win anything, it’s suddenly all about how amazing LeBron is
The problem is the Lakers went away from their defensive identity that helped them win the championship in the 2019-2020 year. The only weakness in that team was their streaky shooting. All they had to do was sign everyone back, and then make small changes to the team, that improves their shooting but does hurt their defensive identity, but since then it’s been questionable signings, letting key players go, the Westbrook trade which was terrible for both parties, and questionable lineups. Last year they managed to get some players that helped get them to the play-in and eventually the WCF, but the Lakers have significantly shortened their championship window due to terrible front office decisions since the bubble.
The Lakers basically bought a ring in 2020. They got two superstars from other teams and then signed a bunch of guys who were starters in other playoff teams
@@itzsinsss5751 But it certainly is his fault when he doesn't play defense and leaves shooters wide open, so he can sit under the hoop for easy stat pad opportunities
This is my issue with NBA fans. Y’all claim AD is the best player on the Lakers but give Lebron all the criticism. Also people claim Lebron plays zero defense yet all the statistics show he’s clamping whoever he’s guarding. This has actually been one of Lebrons better defensive seasons in LA and LOW agreed during a livestream. Maybe start watching games and stop reading Twitter
@@panashe5268 "Clamping whoever" is plainly absurd. If you would in fact WATCH the games you'd see that LBJ spends more time complaining to refs and loafing than guarding anybody.
It’s honestly LBJ wanting to play pg and not his true position SF. By forcing LBJ to play pg you’re directly taking a true pg out of their game. This forces a true pg to be either a spot up shooter or slasher which isn’t what a pg is known for. This also makes the sg play a different role as well.
Sg isn't really affected. The most affected are the pg (aformentioned) and the power forward. The pf basically becomes a spot-up shooter who can also defend, which is not a common architype. It is even rarer than a 3 and D sf, and these players typically need YEARS of development to become that, so no way any team is gonna trade that away.
2023 off season: The Lakers have a great roster and won the off season. 2024: the coach is bad and the teams needs some trades. Me: didn't this organization do this last year?
The argument of time of possession is flawed since AD isn’t a primary ball handler. AD gets set up in the post/PNR and either shoots or passes out of a double.
Well, given that Giannis, Jokic, and Embiid are around 3-4 mins. I think it's a passable explanation. Lately, AD'S been dropping a lot of assists, so something has definitely changed with the Lakers offense recently.
Giannis and Jokic are more point forward/center which explains why their time of possession is high. Embiid is the better comparison and is a little higher since he doesn’t have a HOF level passer on his team anymore.
Problem with this team is they're paying a 40 year old max money. They guy obviously just wants records as the oldest to do this and that, and does not really care about winning basketball anymore. His lazy defense and bad body language rubs off his team.
@@za_warudo477i think at that point/age money should really be less important if you really want to win. With that said, if he did take a pay cut to sign another top player he would be critizied so as much as I can't stand James personality. His in a no win scenario.
no YOU dont watch the games we've have seen countless time of Lebrons bad body language, throwing his teammates under the bus, and complaining to the refs more that getting back on defense. Him putting up these offense stats is the only reason people think hes playing so "elite"@@christiancevallos9820
Lakers won’t win another championship while King Flop is on their team. He picks and choose when he plays, he has Zero defence, plays only for stats, blames everyone but himself, but he takes all the credit when they win.
Lebron needs to be coming off the bench but his ego won’t allow it. Rather than call it out for what it is they make excuses and justifications. He plays well it’s “witness his greatness at 39” but when he plays horribly it’s “what do you expect he’s 39”. As far as I can remember inconsistent players don’t log the minutes Lebron does they come off the bench and only play in times when they’ll have the most impact. The Lakers ain’t winning with Lebron being the go-to guy.
facts. For every Austin Reeves (which precedent says would be a lot better anywhere else) there are 10 Kevin Love's & Chris Bosh's who's careers he's utterly destroyed.
@@Justin_Watson23 I'll always compare All-Stars that MJ and KOBE played with compared to LeBron. And of course, unlike LeBRONZ, they've only tasted gold 🤘
I am not a huge Lakers or Lebron fan, but I have been watching a lot of their games this season. AD is clearly the best player and they are not giving him enough touches. I know this won't be popular with Lebron fans, but at his age, he would be much more effective as a sixth man bringing explosive offense off the bench when needed. Especially because he is not playing much D this season.
Lebron’s ego won’t allow that although it’s obviously the best move. He painted himself into a corner with the non-sensical goat talk so to come off the bench, even though it’s obvious he should, would harm his campaign. Lebron is so egotistical he’d rather destroy the team than humble himself.
agreed. I'm by no means a day 1. Was SOLD on your content after your video: "hey P they say I have to come off the bench!!!" ---- ROAST of PG / Russ / Melo that was a thing of beauty might have to rewatch that now actually but yeah more consistent uploads bruh your content is great
Not staying in win now mode, Rob and Buss are accountable for dismantling 2020 roster, NOT hiring Kidd, Ty, DeRozan, Irving, Caruso, etc, while duo AD/LBJ are under contract.
@@kingmunchtvis that why he keeps putting up bad shots and bricks in the 4th quarter instead of playing through AD in the post? Because he wants AD to take over?
@@showtimej2582 I didn't mention anything about Lebron in the 4th quarter but since you bring it up no he is not he isn't even top 5 and maybe not even top 10 and how can you compare him to AD in the 4th when he's taken far more shots in the 4th than AD and why are you even talking about 1 quarter when a game is 4 quarters?? You Lebron delusionals will make up any nonsense to prop that overrated stat padder
Getting AD more time with the ball would mean less time for Lebron and that a good thing but sure the coach does not have to balls to do that. Funny you never mention about Lebron not playing defense 80% of the time.
You clearly don’t watch the games, your right about getting AD more ball time however lebron is one of the greats passers oat and you’d see how great of a playmaker he has been recently if you actually watched the games instead of blindly hate, lebron throws up dimes after dimes to AD and yes that increases chance of a turnover but it’s worth it.
@@jynx464 6 Finals losses, most Finals games lost, worst chokejob in Finals history, #1 in turnovers, soon to be #1 in missed shots..... list goes on 😂🗑
The attention Lebron brings to teams shows which players can play under pressure. Most hate for Lebron teams are unwarranted, but it makes people $ so the media pushes narratives.
@@araignee2564because he does this every year. Watch you’ll see the entire roaster changed by playoff time and when they loose you’ll see the coach gone. He doesn’t make players better. This man plays 0 defense too
@@araignee2564 and this sentiment is exactly what I’m talking about. is he not the leader? Is he not supposed to galvanize his troupes and get them to calm down and rally under him? Why does he seem to be the common denominator in every mishap for the last decade since he left Miami yet he shares NONE of the blame? He takes none of the blame for not being able to adjust to his costars games and allow them to thrive playing their own game without having to bend to his will. He gets no blame for never truly sacrificing his game a bit to build a real system. He gets no blame for constantly combating coaches and looking to get guys moved so frequently by throwing them under the fire and forcing the hand of his teams to make big moves instead of builds by real chemistry with his guys and weathering the storm through tension and adversity. And when they can’t get it done what do we start hearing? Lebrons on the move again. He’s great for sure, and or course it’s not mostly his fault as there ALOT of moving parts to blame in this. But at some point as bron fans u have to look at the writing on the wall. Can u name two consecutive first seed lebron teams in the last decade? Nope. Can u remember a time where lebron had a squad one year and ran it back with nearly the exact same roster and/or gotten better with said roster? Can u name a big trade that didn’t end in disaster? Can u make a bron teamate that WASNT thrown under the bus when things got rocky? How many times can we see the exact same issues and results and keep coming or the same conclusions before we realize that lebron needs to change.
The lack of rotation and early injuries are the primary season for their struggles but they were showing signs at least. Btw good to see you uploading vidros again. You didn't upload one even in MDJ's brief return.
I just find it a little difficult to criticize Ham’s lack of offensive creativity with non shooters when he’s shackled to the Lebron James system. Nobody on the team screens, cuts or generally moves because their job is to space the floor for Lebron to do his P&R bulldoze act. There isn’t one coach in the NBA that can fix that issue without changing the way their star player plays the game first and in year 20 I don’t think that old dog is learning any new tricks.
Dude I need to find the video from before the season started where I commented that the lakers were getting all this hype just to go .500 mid way through the season
thank you!! that's what i have been saying since day 1. if it isn't for a guy like lauri, go after a poa winger and a starter quality center are the answer. you get an upgrade on prince while allowing ad to roam. the solution to their problems are a lot simpler than people make it
10000000% on point. Lebron does nothing for this team on offense or defense. Imagine DLo and AD on offense. Imagine Christian wood and reeves. AD has help at Center in Jaxson Hayes. It is inexcusable for the lakers to be playing this bad. Lebron needs to go.
Dude imagine Rui being that help at the wing for AD. He can stretch the floor or cut to the rim and establish more spacing for others if AD is posted up at the midrange. Get Lebron out ASAP!!!!!
Weird their running the same defense bucks ran, when bucks were giving up the most 3s in league lol who was an assistant coach on that team ? Who’s the head coach of this team? So you think Bron is calling the shots ? Your an idiot
tonights game against the celtics destroyed the "lebron needs help" argument. Lebron is lazy on defense and cherry picks his offense usually resulting in poor shooting for the sake of highlights and stats. Leturnover.
great breakdown low! i am a die heart laker fan and i have been extremely dissapointed in this team. i agree with everything u said as someone who thought they could be the #2 seed
Lakers are damn lucky that they're the biggest team in LA and can reliably attract talent to go there. If this same front office that's been in charge over the last decade was in a small market the team would be scraping the bottom of the barrel alongside the Pistons.
That’s the formula I thought as well. This is what I came up with but considering these teams either are asking for more or don’t want to trade these players, this is a dream scenario if they do. Nets get: Austin Reeves Rui 2 seconds Lakers get: Dorian Finney Smith Royce O’Neale Lonnie walker Bulls get: Gabe Vincent JHS Jaxon Hayes 1 First 2 seconds Lakers get: Caruso Drummond Maybe Torrey Craig for salary matching or just exclude him Sign Biyombo Now the lakers have that formula where they can run Biyombo at the 5 and let AD play the 4 and have quality 3nD guys next to Lebron and AD Their wing depth would be probably the best in the league: Lebron, Vando, Cam, Christie, Caruso, Craig (maybe), Prince (kinda), Royce, DFS They got tons of guard defenders with Caruso, Christie, and maybe O’Neale. They have big help Biyombo for rim protection, Drummond for rebounding big body, and Wood for spacing Your offensive would be intact and similar to the 2020 team with Lebron, AD, DLO, and Lonnie to help carry your offense alongside your 3nD role players who shoot above 35% from 3: Prince 38%, DFS 38%, Royce 35% (38% for career), Caruso 41% The amount of lineups you can throw out would be insane because of all the depth in every position you would have. The only issue is that the coach will mess it up since now he has even more options to choose from
@@gilligith6715 lol why even waste time typing it out when there's 0 chance of it happening??. You Bron groupies want him to get the best help possible every year just for his team to come up short and repeat the process the next year 😂🤦🏽♂️
@@tdup191 it’s a dream scenario but it ain’t that far off. Teams ask for a lot this early because they want to sell high on these players. Also, They’ll come down on their offers once the deadline gets closer. This trade even by the trade deadline isn’t completely far off and not impossible to happen. The first trade definitely can happen. You’re trading a really good role player on a friendly contract and a solid role player and seconds for role players. If u think this is a delusional trade, you must not have seen other trades that involve star players going to the lakers for this exact package 😭
What's the least common denominator between all these Laker teams, which constantly require Rob Pelinka to perform miracles to acquire increasingly more talent, & which seemingly causes all these high profile coaches to suddenly be less knowledgeable about offense than medium sized youtubers? I see now why AOH went off on this dude, the answer is Lebron "I don't play defense & flop all over the court while giving terrible effort" James.
Why would the Hawks take the lakers offer for Murray when they can get way more for him elsewhere? Plus they want something close to what they traded away to get him which includes atleast two 1st round picks(good ones not some trash picks)
Lakers keep trading away or letting players walk away that they need right now. - Caruso - JaVale - KCP - Danny "Red" Green - Dwight Howard - Dennis - Rondo - Marc Gasol They need a play who plays like each of the dudes they traded or let walk away at this very moment. Franky V didn't deserve to be fired for the front office mistake. They gave him a train wreck of a team.
My exact thoughts where to attempt to build a team like the 2021 lakers they were amazing all around and fun to watch something that could fix so many of their problems is to get a big I know Dwight would love the opportunity again and that would maximize AD usage
Any fool can make an assessment and sounds good. This dude is something else. Reddish is standing in the corner waiting on the ball because that’s the effects of the LeBron system.
Just Shows how they really got lucky to make it to the WCF, busted Grillizes Team First Round, Tired and and drama filled Warriors, and then got swept by the Nugs. The Lakers literllaly have the same Record I belive as last year with Westbrick at this point. Can't expect 40yo Lebron to carry. AD not that dude either.
LeBRONZ playing D would be a big help... 4v5 on one side of the court is pretty rough. But, im just a realistic person that would love a professional to play D 🤷♂️
@@manz7860 You win some you lose some. Almost every teams in the NBA do not have a full team of players that are capable of scoring a lot of points AND play defense at the same time. At this point, Bronsexuals just want a superteam for Lebron, they want guys like Giannis, Tatum, AD out there with Lebron.
Yeah, I've thought the same as you in regards to Darvin Ham. It honestly feels like there's no point in making a trade. It feels like a lot of the problems stem from Darvin Ham. Like even if they somehow magically got either Zach Lavine or Murray Ham would still fuck it up lol.
Gilbert Arenas said it well when talking about Darvin Hamm's lineup attempts by saying he's trying to combine 2 or more players to make 1 complete player
Sham is having trouble trying to fit players around Lebron’s limited and inconsistent game. He needs to be coming off the bench but his ego won’t allow it.
To you guys it’s a disappointment. But we should’ve known it legit was done after Russ and I did. I knew we weren’t going anywhere we lost to the suns and that really was the last shot. Last season didn’t prove much to me but that the lakers got easy matchups in the grizzlies and warriors. I don’t even think GS goes to 5 with Denver lmfao. This is all an unbiased lakers fan too you guys just think too highly of them. 2020 our best season was COMPETITIVE. Not even like we steamrolled everyone and we are bound to get worse over time with age.
Tipping toeing around the truth I see.. until you’ll realize bron is the real issue, they’ll continue to loose.. remove bron and give curry the same guys and they’ll be unstoppable
expecting AD to have time of possession like a guard or wing is odd. on that list joel embiid and jokic were also toward the bottom with a minute or two more and they’re known for being offensive hubs. usage rate would’ve been a better stat
They overachieved 2023. Performed as expected for 2022. 2021 injuries ruined the title defense and 2019 Bron was hurt. After they gave up Howard, Rondon, Bradley, Mcgee, etc this stopped being a team that can control tempo and own the paint. Ever since they are a team that struggles guarding the 3 and a team that gets pummeled on the boards by every Center.
They didn't overachieve in 2023 - they played without Bron. If the Lakers are such night-and-day with and without Lebron, then it's obvious who the problem is. The self-proclaimed goat who leaves the court with time on the clock. He sets a horrible example, and the team is much better without him. We've seen it first-hand.

If only they traded for Conley instead of DLo, well they would have still problems but it will lessen quite significanlty since they have a legit point guard.
LeBron is holding this team back. Put any other star on that team in his place and I’ll bet anything they improve significantly. Not even tryna be a hater, his greatness is solidified in my mind but what he’s doing now is hurting their offense and defense
