I am worried. Lonzo is out for the rest of the 22-23 season. Hasn't played since January 2022. I see similarities with D Rose... And most worrisome: Just like D rose, Lonzo ONLY jumps with his left leg OR a left-right plant. NEVER a single-leg jump with his right, or a double-leg jump with a right-left plant. And funny story: this is EXACTLY how I fucked up my knees too! Not so funnny actually. Jump imbalance is a real risk factor - we don't need academic evidence to see that. We overload one side, and ignore the other. It's a matter of time till you have a bad landing on your weak side. And it's a matter of time till your strong side can't handle the volume and intensity anymore. Coaches need to see this and force their players to take a step back to balance out both sides. The only reason this wouldn't be done, is IMPATIENCE and COMFORT. We feel comfortable using our strong side and fixing our weak side takes time and effort... ...but eventually, you're gonna have to pay the price.
